HI @Luke-zr5ew, There's nothing native in BC that'll prevent a user from setting a PO status to Open. You would have to build a custom extension to prevent users from approving a PO.
@jaclynlee-g8h, On the Approval User setup window, the user's emails need to be populated and if the two users are part of the same Workflow User Group, then they'll both receive the email notification for approval. Hope that helps!

What do you do when you don't want it to be possible to open a purchase order and be able to adjust it without someone approving it?

In the workflow setup, if there are two approvers for this approval, how can we ensure that the approvers(both)

do we have to setup a the email and must have a microsoft exchange license for notifications, because i didn't got mail of approval
