The first story is heartbreaking on so many levels. Regarding the other stories, I always have to wonder if Native American indigenous people roll their eyes every time they hear a story describing a Wendigo with antlers, or when people hundreds and thousands of miles away from Navajo Nation are convinced they saw a skinwalker.
🤭🤭Right, I'm gonna sit in my home that's right next 2 a forest and say skinwalker a ton of times, while living in Wales 🏴 😂😂😂😂(why they keep saying wendigo have them antlers!! That's a not deer isn't it?)
I do enjoy learning about other cultures and there beliefs, God's etc,, but woosh some story's you hear 😂😂😂😂

Man I feel bad for the sister story I couldn’t imagine if my sister was replaced are there any updates on it or know where to find any?
These are mostly made up stories. But damn was that one vivid and feels real
The story about the sister being replaced is extremely interesting. I have a few theories. My first theory is that the person telling this story got transported to an alternate reality. The second theory, is that her big sister got replaced by a changeling. Typically it's only small children who are replaced. Another theory is she was replaced by an Alien hybrid. Final theory is she was replaced by a type of faery/ demon called a Lidrec.
My thoughts immediately went to the story teller developing Capras syndrome. It's where there's a disconnect between the faces you see and the emotion you develop while seeing them. My mother-in-law developed it and swore her husband was replaced by a robot/clone/actor.
Descent into schizophrenia.
I was thinking maybe a changeling.

I bet something a little more believable happened such as the sister running away from home or maybe the parents even adopting a girl to replace her. It would ultimately explain why the parents were acting so nice to this other girl and why the sister came in and kissed her in the middle of the night in addition to leaving her bracelet on the table.
That sister story damn near made me cry. Are there any updates? Did she ever find her sister? The younger sister should have appreciated her big sister. Now that she’s gone, likely of her own accord, she misses her? Bit too late. Not even her family deserved such a wonderful girl. Plus, the SA stuff was so sad 😭
The question is how much of the story was even near reality and how much was the delusions of an undiagnosed schizophrenic.
I think story with the sister was so sad. I think she purposely left. Maybe she made a deal with a fae to switch. I think the younger sister can only notice the sister because she loved her unconditionally

Don't blame the younger sister for being former product of her parents. Blame the monstrous parents, who are awful, abusive people.
My MIL broke her back and I'm taking care of her, these stories are perfect to keep us occupied!
I understand. I had a heart attack a couple months ago ( 61) out of the blue . I went back 100’s of episodes, I’m doing better and listen about 7 hours a day . Love the podcast, true or just a great story , it takes my mind off my pity party🎉. You’re doing a great thing taking care of your MIL. I know I’d be over the moon if I had someone . Sometimes , it’s just having someone to talk too. My 3 grown adult sons all live out of state . You have a wonderful heart , and I’m sure she appreciates what you do for her. Be well 🩵

Okay. If we are to take the first story as fact. It sounds to me like the sister willingly left of her own choosing. Whether it was to take her own life is up for debate. It seems however that the universe took notice of the sister and decided to take her, marking her as a mistake to be corrected. Of course, the universe can't take without leaving an impression. It created a new "sister" to take the place of the original (notice how no one but the OP are affected) I'm willing to bet that everyone else's memories were retconned to compensate for this new "sister".
In conclusion, not a skinwalker. Just universal fuckery as always. Also, I have no sympathy for the OP. They participated in their sister's torment and are only now remorseful now because sis is gone. New "sis" is self aware of OP's dilema and seems to be enjoying OP's decent into madness.
OP was just a kid living under the rule of monstrous parents. That she escaped and later learned empathy and compassion is a testament to the fact she survived that hellish upbringing. Whether the new sister is Fae, the universe, or something else, the best part of the story is that the OP survived the monsters her parents were.

I agree, and I understand it's not easy to remain calm and continue walking but I've always heard that pretending not to notice is also another way to keep urself from being some creature's chow? I wonder if u throw a ball or a stick, would a WW or Dogman go chase it? The messed up part is if they bring the stick or ball back to u, but ur trying to get away.....maybe at the very least u will find urself with a new friend? Can u imagine taking ur DOGMAN to a Dog Park or to the pet groomers? It would be cool but then ppl are going to over-react and start screaming and running.....hurting ur buddy's feelings!

Remember the first story from like two to three years ago it was an animated story with three kids trick-or-treating but it was a guy in the Michael Myers suit same theme they change 50% of the story
Jumped onto this for sknwalker stories and the first story I hear is so depressive that I don't even want to hear anything else. Listening to a horrific tale of abuse and sexual assault is far from what anyone is expecting when they click this for wendigo stories....

The second story is most likely in Henrico VA. Based on "Large homes" description and only here oaks cover houses completely and it''s inside of a forest. all other are a bit too urban to fit the description.
For the first story, it feels like the sister was in reality the mother, and the narrator thinks she is her sister.
The creature in the first story is called a Changeling or a Mimic.
I live in the Texas Hill Country!! Wish i knew which city or county the author of the story is talking about. A lot of history in this area, and our woods are very rugged and stretch for miles. Plenty of mysteries out here.

The sister story sounds like Capgras syndrome. Where the person believes that someone close to them has been replaced with an imposter.
Yeah, that possibility particularly struck me since they also seemed to perceive the mother's behavior as different , when it just seems to be their perception that changed. It could be the OP's brain trying to cope with the abuse they had to witness as they grew older, shifting to see their loving sister (who's behavior doesn't seem to have changed beyond forgetting their cranberry juice preference one time) as somehow sinister, meanwhile shifting to see what they might have called passive aggressiveness from their mom before as more sincere. It also just kinda sounds like a child starting to not see the world in black and white as much.
