Mumbai to Alibag by Ferry - 45 minutes to 1 hour
Mumbai to Alibaug by Speedboat - 20 minutes
I recommend travelling by speedboat if you are going to Alibaug for the weekend. Helps save time.
Here are the details of U Tropicana resort.
Get off at Mandwa Jetty for U Tropicana Alibaug and drive down for about 20 minutes. They usually have a pick up at Madwa Jetty. The cost for living in a U Tropicana Villa for 1 night is about 24000-25000 Rs. and the villa can be shared among over 8 people. They have local seafood from alibaug which is their speciality. hi..speedboat you can either book online or go there and book..avg cost per person is about 1000-2000 rs. ferry on the other hand is about Rs.150-Rs300 and doesn't need pre booking

I have just been to this place. It is really lovely. But we were very disappointed with their houskeeping which is grossly disappointing. They are not at all trained for their jobs. You have to keep on asking them for each and everything. They do only half their work. The bathroom in the Villa had a very bad stinck. The dining room is on the first floor which makes it difficult for some people to go there three times a day. Waiters in the dining room also need some more training. They used to mix up the orders.
