Delta sounds better live, than recorded her voice has a real ambience to it, open and warm the way she wants it to sound, recorded she sounds to clinical the way the studio wants her to sound when she sings live it is with a real passion and vibrant not a carbon copy of the song on her album. by the way that takes real talent to do that i have not heard another single female artist do that.

Delta did an amazing interpretation of the song - very emotional and the song still had the same emotion and meaning singing it faster than the slower original. I was moved by the lyrics and Delta's obvious connection to the song. the emotion was still there and that's all I care about.

I know we did a Delta song... I can't remember which it was... from her debut album, being back in in 2002/2003... I would LOVE to see Wenday & Delta do this, or even Delta now, how she'd do this cover... Would it be as pop as the vocals in this feel, or closer to the classics of the original...
That was a beautiful tribute. Not just saying that because I am a fan either. She hit all the right notes and the song suited her voice so well. all the people complaining about the faster tempo, maybe it was like that to make the song faster and shorter to fit into the segment, because there wasn't that many people to be honored on the big screen, so the song had to be short maybe? just a thought.

I've never liked Delta Goodrem, but i always had a respect for her talent. Sadly in this piece, her humility deserts her. Delta - its not about you. It was about the tribute to those gone before you. You butchered the tune by way of bum notes and chords, and your unsubtle vocal drew attention away from the intended tribute.

Sure, she looks lovely, and her voice is awesome, BUT the tempo was WAY too fast (listen to the Wendy Matthews version - it will kick you in the guts) and her vocal interpretation was a little too intricate for the occasion. That, and it was the wrong way for the ARIAs to treat that segment - should have been those who died in the past twelve months. 90% had already been commemorated at previous ceremonies.
Delta is great, but I didn't like this performance. Felt it was a bit too overdone with the yelling. Yes I understand she was trying to get the feeling of it, but yelling is not for me sadly

Wow, I never knew how weak her voice is, she really did a poor performance here. Maybe it was just a bad night, but it surprised me how Tex Perkins level bad she was. Tex is either good or terrible, but I assumed Delta would be more professional than that and sort of be OK even when she is having a bad one, but she isn't.
I love Delta so much but this is not a great performance. Her diction is terrible and it lacks the restraint of the original. It's supposed to be sad and wistful,not whatever the fuck this is overblown performance is.
