In a forest, near and dear,
Lived a squirrel named Sam, full of cheer.
But one day, he broke a lovely nut bowl,
And worried, he ran to a hiding hole.
His mother asked, "Did you see,
What happened to the bowl by the old oak tree?"
Sam's heart thumped, what should he do?
He knew the answer: tell what's true.
"I’m sorry, Mom, it was me," he said,
"I broke the bowl and then I fled."
His mother smiled and gave a hug,
"Thank you, Sam, for not being smug."
"Honesty is gold," she told him right,
"It helps us sleep with ease at night.
When you tell the truth, you’ll find,
Peace and joy fill up your mind."

Honesty is the best of all.
