You are so right, but I mostly agree on scene where simba is on top of nala, especially when u mentioned that it implies to sex. E THAT SCENE WAS CRINGEY FOR ME TO REWATCH RN
Ok, this is a great video. But I feel that you left out something very important. Something that they left out of the remake. The single most important line in the original. The line that sends the biggest message. "Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it". Rafiki was supposed to be the the "Teacher". The one that changed Simba. But in the remake, he was a background character with very little dialog and little importance.
Scar if he was real would not have a black mane. #1 he is a outcast lion: unhealthy lions will actually have grey to or orange mane. #2 scar does not have high testosterone levels: a lion can only also have high levels if it has a high amount of testosterone can have a black mane. So technically mufasa and simba are the ones who are supposed to have black manes
There are also cases of young lions with black manes, namely, the recently murdered Xanda..son of Cecil the lion, who had a naturally dark pelt. Granted neither Cecil nor Xanda were as dark as Scar but probably got as realistically close as one could.
Some people look too deep into things. This is the first I've heard of a supposed "tendency to give their villains a homosexual slant." Not all of them have a love interest because it's not relevant to their character, and the ones that do are most definitely heterosexual. As for the hyenas, I'm sure they chose the actors they did because they sounded great in the auditions. They were written to be comedic low-lifes regardless of who was eventually chosen. The complainers conviently forget that both the heroes and villains are a mixed group. Did they forget that James Earl Jones voiced Mufasa?
People woulda be even more sensitive if the little mermaid remake woulda come out,its as if trump supporters had problems when it comes to black characters in remakes
It's NOT live action! It's photo realistic! In the original, Shenzi did show she was the leader of the hyenas. When Banzai starts complaining to Scar about the lack of food, Shenzi stops him and says to him, "Let me handle this." She also stops Banzai from attacking the wildebeest in the gorge.
'It's not live action! It's photo realistic!" So when you heard live action were you expecting them to hire real talking animals? Or get trained animals to lipsync to voice actors?
First time hearing this term too...I find it making your cake and wanting to eat it too, type of shit. I love both editions. First you can see Simba land at an angle with only his upper half ontop of her. Second, Nala is laying on her side as shown by the fur coloration on her stomach. Third, the two pinning each other is used as a simple of there bond through the move. Fourth, NALA WAS TELLING SIMBA HOW SHE FELT!!!!! It was a kiss on the cheek.
Even I thought Mufasa's death in the remake was wack, less emotional and not so dramatic like the old Death. My dad and I thought we was gonna cry in the remake death but we didn't.
Personally I got so upset when the took the song be prepared out as that is forever going to be my favourite scene. The drop of Banzai and Ed really sucked too as I loved those characters so much. Something that I think you missed was that they completely scraped the sarcastic and dry humour that Scar has, witch in my opinion takes from his character as his humour was a big part of things. They could have made Scar into a melanistic lion, which would essencially turn his coat black. There are darker shades of lions, they just aren't as common. People are 100% more sensitive, and not always in a good way either. The choice to go with hyper realism is fine, but they lost out on so many emotions, having to rely on facial expressions and body language, that they still didn't use to its full potential. What irks me the most is yhe lack of feeling, they might as well have done what BBC, I think it was, that filmed real lions for a movie called Pride, and just add lip movements. Österreichischer Patriot / Austrian Patriot I agree. And I even know how I’d love for the sequel to be if it was based on TLK2. I think they should elaborate on Scar’s past since it’s obvious that his backstory has changed from the original, and use that to open into Kovu, reinforce that Kovu is NOT his son and then kinda throw the basic storyline of TLK2 into the sequel.
I wouldn't mind that. Maybe they'll number 2 will be better. I just found the charecters in the new version had so much less personaility, everyone was so serious :/

The thing that struck me the most was the change of scar’s voice and his “be prepared” song (lyrics). I don’t understand why would anyone want to change perfection.
What bothered me is that someone took the real life movie characters made them more cartoonish Like why did they do that it’s called a realistic movie for a reason and do you expect real lions to have facial expressions???
When my family saw it, I saw that Refiki didn't have his staff. I shrugged it off thinking Disney couldn't figure out how to make Refiki walk realistically with his staff. Was a little disappointed the stick whacking Simba wasn't going to be in the movie (which was something they should of kept). Then when they go to confront Scar, Refiki reaches into that hole in his tree. In my mind I said, "I swear if Refiki pulls out his staff". Then he does. So glad most of the theater was empty because I had a mini seizure in my seat. By the way I hate how they changed Be Prepared. That was what I was excited to see the most. I was disappointed.
@@galaxy5379 Disney makes a lot of Easter Eggs to their other movies. Nemean Lion's skin looks like Scar. There's a tea set that looks like Mrs. Pots and Chip in Tarzan.
Dude the fact that they changed the song "be prepared" completely really disappointed me. In the remake they made it seem something really cool was about to happen.. and it really wasnt a song.
In the wild lionesses would usually all gang up as to protect their cubs and kill the lion ruling the pride so in the wild scar would be dead because he deprived the lionesses and their cubs of food he gave the hyenas food and the rest ate the left overs and well scar would actually in the wild have to kill all cubs that aren't his own like nala but she had to stay alive because welll its a movie and they didn't wanna ruin it for kids maybe...but yeah so mufasa had to do the same...so simba and nala are....
I heard this thing on TikTok. The song from the original “I Can’t Wait to be King” is just Simba being excited for Mufasa to DIE so Simba can be king. Shocking but true.
I hate Disney for making real life remake of disney classics. Or disney animation movies. I prefer the old of the new because for me is just disney wants make easy cash. I LOVE disney but.. not that kind of disney's way. Sorry for my poor writing english. And I love your channel :)
It might be my knowledge of animals as a kid that made me think Shenzi was the leader or maybe the books. There was no doubt in my mind that Shenzi was the alpha female of her clan. Banzai and Ed I saw as less as her equals and more as her subordinates since she used to tell them what to do or attack them when they did something wrong
How is everyone forgetting about Zira? She was legit Scar’s spouse in the second movie, and they have 3 kids (Nuka, Vitani & Kovu), yet people still assume he’s gay? As an openly gay person, i can confirm, just because someone acts flamboyant/ has an attitude, it doesn’t make them gay.
The hyenas were not racist they were henchmen. henchmen are supposed to be stupid. Henchmen should only be smart if their boss is stupid. Making the hyenas smart was actually a bad mistake on Disney's part because it broke several rules for henchmen. What's next a smart Kronk in a remake of The Emperor's New Groove? I hope not.
ok so I just wanna say, Nala's original voice actress became Nala whilst voicing her where as Beyoncé made Nala into Beyoncé, like its not Nala anymore...
I think people are just too sensitive. If anyone took offense to anything in the Lion King, then what are they even doing watching the remake? They shouldn’t be the target audience. There wasn’t even anything offensive in the original, really.
I know I am so sick of everything being PC because it might be offensive to someone. Grow up and get a grip life ain't fair! Heck, Disney offends me because I am disabled and we have been represented ZERO times by them.
I liked it and I GREW UP with the original. It was so different that I saw it different. I saw the nods to the original. Ed is the most relatable in both. Live action-made him even more relatable. Animated-relatable
People are way to sensitive. Did you know that when television was first introduced children were exposed to nudity the whole time. Since there was no censorship at that time
I feel like im missing something, what about scar made him "queer" in the first movie? Wasnt there a deleted scene where he was trying to get get with Nala, and didnt he go try to be like " hey be my queen " at sarabi???
The reason he was labeled queer is because of stereotypes. Male Disney villains tend to have a flamboyant and manipulative nature rather than a powerful and masculine one. Nowadays if a man is non masculine they’re obviously gay because society. Also you’re correct about the deleted scene.
Since the remake took the 🎶song in the 🌞day ⏳time... they could've tampered a ▪️little without really changing it, why not 🔄swap 🌌"tonight" with 🌄"today" it 🔉sounds just as 👍🏼good and it wouldn't do much ➕plus it makes more sense
I’m fine with Fascist villains as long as they get seriously messed up or die in the end also Disney has brought to life a new fascist villain his name is Emperor Belos from The Owl House and he’s pretty evil 🙃
I think a lot of these changes were unnecessary, though giving Nala more screentime was fine and giving Shenzi a more dominant hierarchical role was okay (though I see no reason to have replaced Banzai and Ed, who could have just been portrayed as more deferential to her).
They were *always* "deferential" to Shenzi; it just wasn't spelled out in TLK 94 b/c back then, apparently, Disney thought that kids and their parents could catch onto subtle cues. Shenzi was ALWAYS in charge of the hyenas... (rolleyes)
I dont know if any1 saw this but when scar abd simba fought scar and threw him of the top of pride rock he shouldve had instantly died whilst mufasa shouldnt have died because 1 the gorge was at least the same height of not smaller and 2 the Wildebeest were in the way. Any1 see that?
@@BitesBarracuda yes but bc of he would've fell on top so the antlers or horns of the wildebeest wouldve either permanently damaged him or actually killed
Okay... Simba on top of Nala in the original movie didn't need to be censored. We see nothing that isn't appropriate. We don't see private parts or other adult activities. It's a love song, a love scene, meant for a children's movie. Simba and Nala ARE adults at this point, so it makes sense that they mature. And the animators didn't make the animals anatomically correct in the first place.
I believe people are way too sensitive about everything and anything what ever happened to FREEDOM OF SPEECH we should NOT be cencerd because we have different opinions over a topic this a FREE COUNTRY and as far as I know is my right to speak up just like everybody else and that's the truth 🇺🇸 GOD BLESS AMERICA
Y’all need to get the fact that it says “LIVE ACTION” so that means the colors are real, the actions are real and why did someone make a different lion king that looks like the 1994 movie with the live action??????(no offense)
I liked the change when Mufasa said it belongs to no one and we are to protect it. Protector of the realm! GOT reference. It is a king's responsibility to protect his kingdom.
If they were going to film “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” during the day, they might as well have changed it to “Can You Feel the Love Today?” Like seriously...smh

Me: B...S! B..S! What in the wor-r-rld is this?!
That was one of my favorite parts too😁
When my family saw it, I saw that Refiki didn't have his staff.
@@alysonpaige4439 im proud
Dude the fact that they changed the song "be prepared" completely really disappointed me. In the remake they made it seem something really cool was about to happen.. and it really wasnt a song.
I’m here because I’m Curios on why the Cover is like that XD
•Snowy’s World• don’t listen to that kind of crap
It's funny how when they were young Nala was all like ewww I ain't marrying Simba. But in their adulthood though she tries making him fall for her
I honestly love them both equally😁 in the original I love the characters and expressions, and in the new one I love the realistic ness 😁😁
Disney: *makes real life versions of other Disney animation movies*
Also Disney: *hasnt teamed up with mojang to make the ultimate Minecraft movie*
This is AWESOME. :) i love dark things of disney and cartoon stuff
Thanks for watching! 😀
@@WickedBinge please do a video of code lyoko and yu gi oh
I hate Disney for making real life remake of disney classics. Or disney animation movies. I prefer the old of the new because for me is just disney wants make easy cash. I LOVE disney but.. not that kind of disney's way. Sorry for my poor writing english. And I love your channel :)
It might be my knowledge of animals as a kid that made me think Shenzi was the leader or maybe the books. There was no doubt in my mind that Shenzi was the alpha female of her clan. Banzai and Ed I saw as less as her equals and more as her subordinates since she used to tell them what to do or attack them when they did something wrong
ik I always thought of Shenzi as leader
How is everyone forgetting about Zira? She was legit Scar’s spouse in the second movie, and they have 3 kids (Nuka, Vitani & Kovu), yet people still assume he’s gay?
As an openly gay person, i can confirm, just because someone acts flamboyant/ has an attitude, it doesn’t make them gay.
I don't think, Scar could be dark brown because lions normally have a light browny colour not really that dark... just thinking but I don't know.
THE THUMBNAIL IS WHAT I SAW MY PARENTS DOING LAST NIGHT
Some people like say(According to Nostalgia Critic) that the live action is more adult, even though the original had scenes like Nala's face
That’s kind of true actually
I love this channel so much
“straightwashed” 😂
The Thumbnail! 😂😂
The original is so much better because of the little things
Yea I agree
The thumbnail just makes our childhoods worst
scar screams on his death now
The hyenas were not racist they were henchmen. henchmen are supposed to be stupid. Henchmen should only be smart if their boss is stupid. Making the hyenas smart was actually a bad mistake on Disney's part because it broke several rules for henchmen. What's next a smart Kronk in a remake of The Emperor's New Groove? I hope not.
They need zira in live action,
Just wait the Lion King 2 kid!
Maybe even bring reason to why Scar chose a cub that isn't his to be his heir
(Possibly it's because he's healthier and stronger than the other cubs)
ok so I just wanna say, Nala's original voice actress became Nala whilst voicing her where as Beyoncé made Nala into Beyoncé, like its not Nala anymore...
Scars eye color is diferent too
His claws now arent out during the whole movie
I'm just angry that Chiwetel Ejiofor didn't get to sing be prepared, and only got that High note that went higher for like 5 or 4 seconds
And of course either SJWs complain Scar is gay-coded or he's straight-washed. You can't have it both ways.
I think people are just too sensitive. If anyone took offense to anything in the Lion King, then what are they even doing watching the remake? They shouldn’t be the target audience. There wasn’t even anything offensive in the original, really.
It's just a cartoon movie good lord! The feminists are taking over!
I know I am so sick of everything being PC because it might be offensive to someone. Grow up and get a grip life ain't fair! Heck, Disney offends me because I am disabled and we have been represented ZERO times by them.
Negativitron Prime nah the feminazis are trying to take over
@@heatherturner2366 XD
shut the fuck up
See I liked this comment before I read the whole thing.
I liked it and I GREW UP with the original. It was so different that I saw it different. I saw the nods to the original. Ed is the most relatable in both. Live action-made him even more relatable. Animated-relatable
People are to sensitive! I love both movies uwu
Gay ppl just want everything about them. Explanation in one sentence!
Disney has totally changed from when I was young
Since the remake took the 🎶song in the 🌞day ⏳time... they could've tampered a ▪️little without really changing it, why not 🔄swap 🌌"tonight" with 🌄"today" it 🔉sounds just as 👍🏼good and it wouldn't do much ➕plus it makes more sense
Definitely love more Nala screen time. I miss the comedy from the original. And like I at least wish they made Scars coat just a bit darker ya know?
Why did they make the remake. The first one was good enough
If u didn't cry when mufasa died you are frikin crazy
(rolleyes)
The only thing that I appreciate from the new one is that they gave nala a character
Admit it
You are here because of the thumbnail
I dont know if any1 saw this but when scar abd simba fought scar and threw him of the top of pride rock he shouldve had instantly died whilst mufasa shouldnt have died because 1 the gorge was at least the same height of not smaller and 2 the Wildebeest were in the way. Any1 see that?
@Paulina Wolna - Good job noticing that!
Mufasa fell through a tree, it wasn't the Wildebeests, the Scar one makes sense
@@BitesBarracuda yes but bc of he would've fell on top so the antlers or horns of the wildebeest wouldve either permanently damaged him or actually killed
@@paulinawolna3315 So if the tree wasn't there he had a slight chance to live
@@BitesBarracuda slight chance possibly but because of his weight he might not have a possible chance he could
Agreed

Y’all need to get the fact that it says “LIVE ACTION” so that means the colors are real, the actions are real and why did someone make a different lion king that looks like the 1994 movie with the live action??????(no offense)
This was my childhood and im waaaaaaay younger than the original
Me to
Everybody too sensitive
We can’t even get good movies anymore
I never cried when mufasa died
Monster😂
Ye same
I liked the change when Mufasa said it belongs to no one and we are to protect it. Protector of the realm! GOT reference. It is a king's responsibility to protect his kingdom.
Right, it makes Scar more evil cause he wants to RULE and destroys everything by OVER hunting
A love triangle? Terrible Writing Advice should sue!
If they were going to film “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” during the day, they might as well have changed it to “Can You Feel the Love Today?” Like seriously...smh
Favorite:the lion king
