"Her own father got this child on her? We are well rid of her, then. I will not suffer such abominations here. This is not King's Landing." At a wedding, thought Davos. As he sat at his slayer's board, a guest beneath his roof. These Freys are cursed. He could smell the burning blood again, and hear the leech hissing and spitting on the brazier's hot coals. "It was the Lord's wrath that slew him," Ser Axell Florent declared. "It was the hand of R'hIlor!" "Praise the Lord of Light!" sang out Queen Selyse, a pinched thin hard woman with large ears and a hairy upper lip. "Is the hand of R'hllor spotted and palsied?" asked Stannis. "This sounds more Walder Frey's handiwork than any god's." He ground his teeth. "We do not choose our destinies. Yet we must ... we must do our duty, no? Great or small, we must do our duty. Melisandre swears that she has seen me in her flames, facing the dark with Lightbringer raised on high. Lighthringer!" Stannis gave a derisive snort. "It glimmers prettily, "Without a son of Winterfell to stand beside me, I can only hope to win the north by battle. That requires stealing a leaf from my brother's book. Not that Robert ever read one." "Robert could piss in a cup and men would call it wine, but I offer them cold clear water and they squint in suspicion and mutter to each other about how queer it tastes." "Weddings have become more perilous than battles, it would seem." "Stannis ground his teeth. 'It is not my wish to tamper with your rights and traditions. As to royal guidance, Janos, if you mean that I ought to tell your brothers to choose you, have the courage to say so.' "And this other man, this Tormund of the many names who eluded us after the battle? Answer me truly." That took Lord Janos aback. He smiled uncertainly and began to sweat, but Bowen Marsh beside him said, 'Who better to command the black cloaks than a man who once commanded the gold, sire?' 'Any of you, I would think. Even the cook.'" "You are not the only turn cloak here, it would seem. Would all the lords of Westerns had but a single neck." Renly: "You'll be pleased to know she came to me a maid." Stannis: "In your bed she's like to die that way." Stannis wife: "No man may withstand him!" Stannis: "Be quiet, woman, You are not at a nightfire now." Selyse throwing her arms around Stannis's legs and begging him to have Edric Storm sacrificed. "He is mine own blood. Stop clutching me woman." "You chatter like magpies, and with less sense" The king gave a shake of his head, like a dog shaking a rabbit to snap its neck "Only Renly could vex me so with a piece of fruit. He brought doom upon himself with his treason, but I did love him, Davos. I know that now. I swear, I will go to my grave thinking of my brother's peach" Clayton Suggs - "A sacrifice will prove our faith still burns true, Sire." Godry the Giantslayer - "The old gods of the north have sent this storm upon us. Only R'hllor can end it. We must give him an unbeliever." Stannis - "Half my army is made up of unbelievers. I will have no burnings. Pray harder." The sound of Lord Janos Slynt clearing his throat broke the strained silence. "Your Grace, let me say how pleased we are to be summoned here. When I saw your banners from the Wall, I knew the realm was saved. 'There comes a man who neer forgets his duty/ I said to good Ser Alliser. 'A strong man, and a true king.' May I congratulate you on your victory over the savages? The singers will make much of it, I know - " "The singers may do as they like," Stannis snapped. "Spare me your fawning, Janos, it will not serve you." He rose to his feet and frowned at them all. "Lady Melisandre tells me that you have not yet chosen a Lord Commander. I am displeased. How much longer must this folly last? Jon: "The freefolk despise kneelers. . . Let them keep their pride and they will love you better." Stannis: "It is swords I need from them, not kisses." Jon: "The talk was all over Castle Black. If you must know, I had the tale from Gilly." Stannis: "Who is Gilly?" Melisandre: "The wet nurse. Your Grace gave her freedom of the castle." Stannis: "Not for running tales. She's wanted for her teats, not her tongue. I'll have more milk from her, and fewer messages." Jon:"No, Sire. I agree these castles must be garrisoned-" Stannis:"The boy commander agrees. How fortunate." Jon:"The you mean to go ahead with this attack?" Stannis:"Despite the counsel of the great Lord Snow? Aye." “Joffrey shall die,” Queen Selyse declared, serene in her confidence. “It may be that he is dead already,” Ser Axell added. Stannis looked at them with annoyance. “Are you trained crows, to croak at me in turns? Enough.” "You haggle like a crone with a codfish, Lord Snow. Did Ned Stark father you on some fishwife?" “I am not without mercy,” thundered he who was notoriously without mercy. Asha: "Your Grace's royal brother was renowned for turning fallen foes into friend. Make me your man." Stannis: "The gods did not make you a man. How can I?" Lady Melisandre rose from her place near the hearth. "With your leave, Sire, I will show Lord Snow back to his chambers." "Why? He knows the way." PS: Stannis is not actually funny. He is just so mean that readers think he´s joking
Renagade2332 Stannis is not funny. Stannis' lack of humor and his desert dry wit, on the other hand, are absolutely hilarious. His bromance with Jon Snow is as awesome as bromances can get.
Luckiller 01 In the one with Asha he said "the gods". Is this a typo or a small hint that Stannis doesn't really believe in R'hllor? Or maybe he is just used to say it that way because of Westerosi society.
Stannis/Stephen Dillane was my favorite part to watch during Game of Thrones. So much despair and things kept going in the wrong direction with every step he took, but he kept fighting to be a fierce leader. The part when he draws his sword before attacking Winterfell was such a badass moment/resolve.
***** i will not rest in peace until i drive brienne of fucking tarth crazy. I will haunt that bitch every single day and every single night until she commits suicide. You guys just worry about killing those fucking boltons
Poor Stannis ended up in a similar situation that Rhaenyra Targaryen ended up in during the Targaryen civil war, 'the Dance of Dragons'. The true heir to the Iron Throne stuck with Dragonstone and its rather limited resources and vassals. Plus, the people on the mainland deciding to be treacherous and greedy, and they choose a king that is not the true heir to the throne for various reasons over them.

Not sure if I read it in the books or not, its been years, but I remember Stannis being a metaphor for iron, tough and strong but inflexible and prone to breaking due to its toughness. Stannis was a great character in the show and the books, misunderstood for the most part but with many flaws. Still a man of duty.
Donal Noye the ironsmith from Storm’s End now a man of the nights watch talks about the Baratheon brothers to Jon. He says Robert was Steel Stannis iron and Renly copper.
Tyrion: Burns Stannis fleet in mere moments , and expects him to flee the blackwater as anyone else would have done. Stannis: "Prepare to land bitches 😎" , he is first to board the boat , first to set foot on the beach , first to reach the wall , first up the ladder , last to leave the battlefield. Best candidate of all kings who wanted to claim the iron throne 🔥🦌🔥
Stannis Baratheon, first of his name, rightful king of the Andals, Rhoynar and the First men, lord of the seven kingdoms and protector of the realm. One realm, one god, one king
I always find myself coming back here...i really can't get over how this character got butchered... Such a iconic theme, best theme i would say actually.
The thing is, he was basically relieved to die in battle. He's Theoden, he's the submerged soul of modern man. Bored, cheated and unfulfilled, knowing he must strike out but also aware of likely defeat - yet, at this point, almost yearning for such a noble end.
"I defeated your uncle Victarion and his Iron Fleet off Fair Isle, the first time your father crowned himself. I held Storm's End against the power of the Reach for a year, and took Dragonstone from the Targaryens. I smashed Mance Rayder at the Wall, though he had twenty times my numbers. Tell me, turncloak, what battles has the Bastard of Bolton ever won that I should fear him?"
1:25-2:25 picturing a scene where Stannis steps into the throne room, calmly walks up the steps, while Davos is standing on the right of the throne and Melisandre on its left. As Stannis walks through the hall, Melisandre proclaims him king along with his rightful titles, and then Stannis sits on the Iron throne as the song arrives it's climax. "LONG MAY HE REIGN"
The one true king. The king who cared. It's a real shame the show had to BUTCHER his character to give Daenaery Sue more screen time. You are gone from our lives Stannis, but your memory will live on forever in the hearts of those loyal to the realm.
Robert told me to hold Storm’s End so I held it. Then he told me he was giving it to Renly. Insult or honor I gave it up because Robert was my older brother and he was the king and I’ve always done my duty. But now I’m the rightful king, by every law Westeros.
Ramin Djawadi is a genius. Even if D&D Ruined Stannis, Djawadi was able to fit the theme perfectly with this mess. Ironic isn't it? Only by hearing this moment 1:49 i already knew they would make him lose everything in a tragic way.

Stannis: "I could give you those men, yes, I have at least a hundred knights who prefer reading to fighting."
"Her own father got this child on her? We are well rid of her, then. I will not suffer such abominations here. This is not King's Landing."
At a wedding, thought Davos. As he sat at his slayer's board, a guest beneath his roof. These Freys are cursed. He could smell the burning blood again, and hear the leech hissing and spitting on the brazier's hot coals.
"It was the Lord's wrath that slew him," Ser Axell Florent declared. "It was the hand of R'hIlor!"
"Praise the Lord of Light!" sang out Queen Selyse, a pinched thin hard woman with large ears and a hairy upper lip.
"Is the hand of R'hllor spotted and palsied?" asked Stannis. "This sounds more Walder Frey's handiwork than any god's."
He ground his teeth. "We do not choose our destinies. Yet we must ... we must do our duty, no? Great or small, we must do our duty. Melisandre swears that she has seen me in her flames, facing the dark with Lightbringer raised on high. Lighthringer!" Stannis gave a derisive snort. "It glimmers prettily,
"Without a son of Winterfell to stand beside me, I can only hope to win the north by battle. That requires stealing a leaf from my brother's book. Not that Robert ever read one."
"Robert could piss in a cup and men would call it wine, but I offer them cold clear water and they squint in suspicion and mutter to each other about how queer it tastes."
"Weddings have become more perilous than battles, it would seem."
"Stannis ground his teeth. 'It is not my wish to tamper with your rights and traditions. As to royal guidance, Janos, if you mean that I ought to tell your brothers to choose you, have the courage to say so.'
"And this other man, this Tormund of the many names who eluded us after the battle? Answer me truly."
That took Lord Janos aback. He smiled uncertainly and began to sweat, but Bowen Marsh beside him said, 'Who better to command the black cloaks than a man who once commanded the gold, sire?'
'Any of you, I would think. Even the cook.'"
"You are not the only turn cloak here, it would seem. Would all the lords of Westerns had but a single neck."
Renly: "You'll be pleased to know she came to me a maid."
Stannis: "In your bed she's like to die that way."
Stannis wife: "No man may withstand him!"
Stannis: "Be quiet, woman, You are not at a nightfire now."
Selyse throwing her arms around Stannis's legs and begging him to have Edric Storm sacrificed.
"He is mine own blood. Stop clutching me woman."
"You chatter like magpies, and with less sense"
The king gave a shake of his head, like a dog shaking a rabbit to snap its neck "Only Renly could vex me so with a piece of fruit. He brought doom upon himself with his treason, but I did love him, Davos. I know that now. I swear, I will go to my grave thinking of my brother's peach"
Clayton Suggs - "A sacrifice will prove our faith still burns true, Sire."
Godry the Giantslayer - "The old gods of the north have sent this storm upon us. Only R'hllor can end it. We must give him an unbeliever."
Stannis - "Half my army is made up of unbelievers. I will have no burnings. Pray harder."
The sound of Lord Janos Slynt clearing his throat broke the strained silence. "Your Grace, let me say how pleased we are to be summoned here. When I saw your banners from the Wall, I knew the realm was saved. 'There comes a man who neer forgets his duty/ I said to good Ser Alliser. 'A strong man, and
a true king.' May I congratulate you on your victory over the savages? The singers will make much of it, I know - "
"The singers may do as they like," Stannis snapped. "Spare me your fawning, Janos, it will not serve you." He rose to his feet and frowned at them all. "Lady Melisandre tells me that you have not yet chosen a Lord Commander. I am displeased. How much longer must this folly last?
Jon: "The freefolk despise kneelers. . . Let them keep their pride and they will love you better."
Stannis: "It is swords I need from them, not kisses."
Jon: "The talk was all over Castle Black. If you must know, I had the tale from Gilly."
Stannis: "Who is Gilly?"
Melisandre: "The wet nurse. Your Grace gave her freedom of the castle."
Stannis: "Not for running tales. She's wanted for her teats, not her tongue. I'll have more milk from her, and fewer messages."
Jon:"No, Sire. I agree these castles must be garrisoned-"
Stannis:"The boy commander agrees. How fortunate."
Jon:"The you mean to go ahead with this attack?"
Stannis:"Despite the counsel of the great Lord Snow? Aye."
“Joffrey shall die,” Queen Selyse declared, serene in her confidence.
“It may be that he is dead already,” Ser Axell added.
Stannis looked at them with annoyance. “Are you trained crows, to croak at me in turns? Enough.”
"You haggle like a crone with a codfish, Lord Snow. Did Ned Stark father you on some fishwife?"
“I am not without mercy,” thundered he who was notoriously without mercy.
Asha: "Your Grace's royal brother was renowned for turning fallen foes into friend. Make me your man."
Stannis: "The gods did not make you a man. How can I?"
Lady Melisandre rose from her place near the hearth. "With your leave, Sire, I will show Lord Snow back to his chambers."
"Why? He knows the way."
PS: Stannis is not actually funny. He is just so mean that readers think he´s joking
or he has no clue and that makes him funny.
Renagade2332 Stannis is not funny. Stannis' lack of humor and his desert dry wit, on the other hand, are absolutely hilarious. His bromance with Jon Snow is as awesome as bromances can get.
Ummmmm how long did it take you to type this and why man . Seriously why
Luckiller 01 In the one with Asha he said "the gods". Is this a typo or a small hint that Stannis doesn't really believe in R'hllor? Or maybe he is just used to say it that way because of Westerosi society.
And people say Renly is funny
Stannis/Stephen Dillane was my favorite part to watch during Game of Thrones. So much despair and things kept going in the wrong direction with every step he took, but he kept fighting to be a fierce leader. The part when he draws his sword before attacking Winterfell was such a badass moment/resolve.
Still the Mannis !
Another loyal follower. You shall be rewarded when I take the iron throne.
***** I appreciate the support but, you need help man.
***** i will not rest in peace until i drive brienne of fucking tarth crazy. I will haunt that bitch every single day and every single night until she commits suicide. You guys just worry about killing those fucking boltons
***** I know no king but the King in the North, whose name is Stark.
Stannis Baratheon You did what needed to be done my lord. You will be forever known as the king who cared. The One true King of Westeros.
House Stannis:
"What is Stannis May Never Die"
More like: "High as Stannis" or "Stannis is coming" 😉
More like: "High as Stannis" or "Stannis is coming" 😉
Stannising strong.
Stannis is the fury.
stannis is coming and hear him roar as he is as high as honour
stannis is the fury.
10 years later Stannis is still the true king! Long may he reign!
"Hundreds will die". "Thousands" stannis is the true king
Stannis lives and marches on... in our Hearts...
This is just a great video. Hail Stannis, the One True King!
You don't know how badly I wanted to see Stannis sit on the Iron Throne 😢
In hindsight he would've been the best choice show wise. In the books I'm currently in the 4th one so can't properly judge yet.
@@Blackdeathgaming-yv1kkin the books he is an even better person for now, still the best candidate for kings as the rest are either too flawed or too inexperienced to truly rule, while even if he is in the weakest position, he is still the last of the original 5 kings to be alive despite starting in the weakest position (After Balon but who cares about him), and facing bitter victory at every turn
Didn't really care about Stannis that much before, but in the last episode he was so badass!
Stannis has kinda gotten a raw deal because of Robert's Bromance/BFF with Ned Stark.
Absolutelly agreed!
he was always badass in the books, the series showed so much less of him..
"A good act does not wash out the bad nor a bad act the good"❤️🔥
Hey Bully. How's MJ?
I loved his storyline in the book.. The show made him to be a monster..
He is becoming utterly evil in the books as well. The difference is that it's well written in the books.
@@user-yt9ek2xh6i
>Only King to defend the Northmen from the wildlings
>Rewards good deeds and punishes misdeeds without caring for rank or birth
Funny definition of "evil" you have going on there.
In the show he felt like Melisandre's puppet. Not to criticise his acting and I haven't read the books.
@@user-yt9ek2xh6iI don’t think that’s true at all
"My vagina is dark and full of terrors"
-Melissandre
+Nit Picker It's indeed full of terrors
+Nit Picker It sure is...
And it's old as fuck and sags to the floor. Ewww just grossed myself out.

The one true king of westeros..Stannis Baratheon!
What about Jon Targaryen
Negan that’s just some stupid plot point from the show. Stannis Baratheon is the only king worth serving.
This was the first music In GOT that hit me so hard.
honestly Stannis has the best theme song
true
Not sure if I read it in the books or not, its been years, but I remember Stannis being a metaphor for iron, tough and strong but inflexible and prone to breaking due to its toughness. Stannis was a great character in the show and the books, misunderstood for the most part but with many flaws. Still a man of duty.
Donal Noye the ironsmith from Storm’s End now a man of the nights watch talks about the Baratheon brothers to Jon. He says Robert was Steel Stannis iron and Renly copper.
He has the best theme in the show. Lannister theme is a close second.
This is my morning alarm.
COME WITH ME AND TAKE THIS CITY!
Many of you will die but it is a sacrifice I am willing to make
Remember though he lead the charge he was on front lines so i don't think that line fits too well for stannis. Thats more joffery. That puss.
Sir, hundreds will die!
why you stealing my shit ? lol you could ve at least, made a little bit of a change in it, NOT THE EXACT SAME WORDS..
-_-
+Bud Light Didn't even realise till now lol
We will Hold the ground,Your Grace!
-But hundreds will die!
-Thousands.
This piece of music moves me in mysterious ways man!
He will always be my king
Olaf Shrek You are very loyal
Baratheon's don't die. They just go missing in action.
Stannis Baratheon, first of his name, rightful king of the Andals, Rhoynar and the First men, lord of the seven kingdoms and protector of the realm.
One realm, one god, one king
The true King of Westeros
0:01-3:00 Pure Gold. Long live Stannis, the One True King!
"the One True King!"
oops!
Distinct City oops what? He didn't misspell anything
I always find myself coming back here...i really can't get over how this character got butchered...
Such a iconic theme, best theme i would say actually.
Built on such a simple melodic phrase. So dark and ominous. LOVE this song
The thing is, he was basically relieved to die in battle. He's Theoden, he's the submerged soul of modern man. Bored, cheated and unfulfilled, knowing he must strike out but also aware of likely defeat - yet, at this point, almost yearning for such a noble end.
4:50 When youre a Frey solider at the battle of Ice and start hearing Boss Music
STANNIS THE MANNIS
The wall was built to protect the white walkers from Stannis
+Gekser nice just copying the comment further down, original
best soundtrack in the series
I still support Stannis! He's like the Walter White of GOT. You hate him, then you love him, then you hate him again.
Morgan Karmichael Unless you're a true, loyal fan.
Stannis Baratheon If you do storm HBO HQ, please spare John Oliver.
+Jimmy Yang Not even the younglings will be spared!
+Jimmy Yang Spare that liberal, anti gun idiot? Why?
Ian Sterner Don't start bringing politics into it
The only true king of westeros.
José Luis Galera Navarro a lie. Take it out
"I defeated your uncle Victarion and his Iron Fleet off Fair Isle, the first time your father crowned himself. I held Storm's End against the power of the Reach for a year, and took Dragonstone from the Targaryens. I smashed Mance Rayder at the Wall, though he had twenty times my numbers. Tell me, turncloak, what battles has the Bastard of Bolton ever won that I should fear him?"
3:48 give me chills every time. It just screams the one true king.
1:20 I love how it picks up.
Edit: That tune is probably my favourite, next to the Reins of Castamere and the Thenn theme.
Hands down the coolest house banner ever😮
3:50
Stannis the Mannis
"hundreds will die"
"Thousands..."
*Que epic theme*
RIP fucking awesome character.
When stannis stands, we kneel
One true king 🔥🛡🗡
i can't believe i will never again hear that theme next season...
The mother of all endings. 😢
STANNIS! STANNIS! STANNIS! You'll always be my King.
I know you've listen this song NOT HUNDRED but THOUSAND!
Stannis will return and he will force the God of light to bend the knee
The one true king. The king who cared. It's a real shame the show had to BUTCHER his character to give Daenaery Sue more screen time. You are gone from our lives Stannis, but your memory will live on forever in the hearts of those loyal to the realm.
Stannis. The one and true king. 👑
Stannis is an epic character. He would've been a better king than Joffrey
well that's not exactly THAT hard
even the Hound would be a better king than Joffrey
Mocsk now that I want to see. "Bring me the fucking chickens or its of with your fucking head. Fuck this. Fuck the king. Fuck me. "
King Joffrey is the best king ever! Thats treason!
Mocsk
Even Hodor would be a better king than Joffrey
Robert told me to hold Storm’s End so I held it. Then he told me he was giving it to Renly. Insult or honor I gave it up because Robert was my older brother and he was the king and I’ve always done my duty. But now I’m the rightful king, by every law Westeros.
I was listening to this watching the movie snow day, it got serious the part when the guys was chasing the kids with the plow
Crazy how the right background music can have you supporting a character regardless what they do 😂
There's something so eerie about his theme song and I love it.
Interesting... The Night King is dare attack only after Stannis is dead. 😌😌😌😏😏😏
Stannis, the one true king!
"But sir, hundreds will die!" .... "thousands"
Ramin Djawadi is a genius. Even if D&D Ruined Stannis, Djawadi was able to fit the theme perfectly with this mess. Ironic isn't it? Only by hearing this moment 1:49 i already knew they would make him lose everything in a tragic way.
I would die for Stan The Man
the one true king
One God,
One Realm,
ONE KING
The King who Cares!!!
There archers hundreds will die . Thousands. Epic .
Your army isn't dead Your Grace, and I know Brienne didn't kill you ... You'll be the King your grace ! Long life for the king Stannis 1st of Baratheon's house, King of Firsts men and Andals, etc ... The throne is yours my lord ...

The night is dark and full of terror, we need you Stannis!
The image comes to mind of Stannis sitting on a boat in Blackwater Bay, eyes fixated on the city walls of King's Landing, unbreakable determination on his face.
