I think it’s because baseball has more home runs. Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m guessing there’s not a lot of home runs in softball. And the MLB is becoming more focused on the home run/ long ball aspect of the game and they were struggling with less viewers for a while so they changed the ball a little bit so it would go further therefore leading to more home runs. Same thing for the WNBA and dunking. If they were to lower the hoops maybe more people would watch. It’s mostly because men are genetically faster and stronger so it’s typically more fun and entertaining to watch.
@@luvly4556 also if you want the sport to generate more views than more women should start watching. I say this because baseball and basketball are primarily watched by men I’m sure there are statistics but I bet more than 95% of viewers are men watching. So if you want softball to become more popular and gain more viewers than women should start watching more.
@@bjs_edits4379 i don't think it has to do with lack of home runs. they seem about as frequent as baseball to me. i think it's just like you said women's sports aren't very popular due to the athleticism gap.

Softball should be supported too. Just because they are women makes viewers not want to watch bc its a “knock off” version if baseball..but thats not true. Also the bases. That field looks so small, and these girls are more than capable of covering the extra area.
thats facts...the bases are simply too short, the pitching mound is a foot to close, if not more and the fences could be moved back a bit. The game is just too small
@@oldben1800 I mean, I'm watching it again now, and just saw the description: 36 in 14 games? Some of those were 220'+ at least. If they move the fences to 215', then you also get bigger alleys, more doubles, more tag opportunities, etc. Move the bases to 70' and allow the runner to leave the base when the pitcher separates her hands, not when the ball leaves her hand.

Home runs are a great accomplishment. How would you feel if you hit a ball over the fence and your teammates just gave you a high five and sat back down. Accomplishments are supposed to be celebrated. No its not like winning a championship but its still important.
