- This challenge is supposed to be attempted by two-person teams...but I must stink or something because I couldn't find a willing partner...
That said; with any luck, I'll be stomach enough to do it solo. The rules are simple: You get one hour to finish a classic afternoon tea comprised of sandwiches, sponge cakes, pastries etc. and if you're successful, the £25 meal is on the house, you get a spot on their wall of fame and a gold medal to confirm your excellence!

Q: How come you don’t get fat?
A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the ‘But How Come You're Not Fat' and 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' videos available on my channel.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

Props to the establishment for offering such great value. I'm not even a dessert eater but I can appreciate the hefty amount of quality food at low cost. I hope for much success towards this business. 👍
American reporting: I don't know if you've seen the sorry state of American cuisine in average places, but you'd pay through the nose here for a meal of this quality. Everything was immaculately made! I could almost taste it through the screen. What I wouldn't give for shops of this quality here.
Unfortunately it looks like they're permanently closed, which is a shame.
What a shame. Folks that do it right while overpriced fast food thrives. Not much like that place here in the states. Hope those folks are doing alright.😢

There are places like this in the US. They say “$25 with minimum of 2 people”. What they mean is the smallest plate they have is giant and it’s $25 per person so minimum of $50 total.
I don’t think this is $25 total if you fail, probably $25x2=$50 if you fail. And if I’m wrong, maybe that’s why they’re permanently closed.
this man attempted to do a two people challenge all by himself. yet, between 12th minute to 15th minute in the timer, he literally just enjoyed having conversation with some stranger and cleaning off his beard. still managed to smash it before 30mins. absolute monster

I didn't say it was great value for money versus what you could get from a supermarket and make at home.

@@tomsettle2631 I don't know how to better phrase it so you'll understand - It's a bargain for AN AFTERNOON TEA. As I said, find one cheaper elsewhere that provides the same amount of food.
Imagine you are bringing your friend to this place to take on this undefeated challenge and you think you have a shot and you look over at the wall of fame and see this absolute chad on the wall just beating the two-person-challenge all by himself.

for the past 2 1/2 years I've dealt with a eating disorder. stress, anxiety, etc. your content is incredible and cheers to you. Watching your challenges helps build up a appetite to eat. I don't depend on your content for my overall health so don't worry being responsible for my choices. it's all been healthy 😌 anyway, as always you killed it! cheers

Im a pretty slow eater myself, but this is probably the first challenge Ive seen were Im like...with the right partner, I could do this! A couple of sandos and then my neverending cake stomach takes care of the rest.

not gonna lie, this challenge looks fire! the plate of sandwiches, which looks like the kind i got from grandma when i was a child and then plate of cakes sold me!
At the beginning of watching these challenges I often feel hungry but by the end, I feel I've eaten. This may be my new diet plan. Let the bearded man do all the work. This one looked particularly yummy.
The cake would literally be the most difficult part of this. Sandwiches and salad are easy…anything rich, thick and creamy would knock anyone on their arse! You did so well with that cake!!!!

That cannot possibly cost only £25. It can't. In Romania, only a slice of chocolate cake would cost 5 pounds! We have ridiculously high prices even in comparison with the food in England!
Same in Lebanon though it is considered a third-world income country.
It's easy. The red velvet cake and chocolate cake are both just over £10 each in Costco and a box of those scones work out about £1 each. So the cake plate I could easy say less than £6 all in
One of the few challenges I have seen on the channel where I think I could have accomplished it (if I cloned myself that is). The cakes looked sensational.
For real, I feel like me and my best friend could have done this one in one hour

The big slices of cake looked like the Costco ones. They are really nice, but a bit of a cop out for a tea room IMO.

This looks delicious! I’d love to give that a shot, with 2 people. I’d do it a little differently. Id add the lettuce to the sandwiches, add the cream to the coffee, and alternate between the sandwiches and dessert. But that’s just me.

This is strangely one of the best challenges I’ve seen you do, Beard. No real greasy food and a bit of etiquette in a food challenge is oddly satisfying. I’d have done the first two plates by myself but those puddings would have done me in after one cake.

Being an American 'tea' is just a beverage but I have a friend from Wales and for one of his 'teas' I brought a cast iron dutch oven in which I made a traditional Shepherd's pie. In America, cottage pie (with beef) is often confused with Shepherd's pie; which is made with lamb. Cheers.
The sandwiches and salad part I could probably eat by my self, but the dessert plate…. No way for me…. One or two desserts and I would be done for…. That plate of desserts is nothing but loads of sugar 😂

Would happily pay the price to sit and enjoy it in that beautiful little shop. Things must be different here because I can't imagine finding such nice looking food in those portions at that price.

Id rather try to eat 5 of those scones than drink a tiny cup of heavy cream. Especially at the end of all of that food.

Actually, challenge food is not a very interesting topic in Korea. But what I found interesting about his videos was that the restaurants he chose were the ones I really wanted to visit.

I don't know about the challenge part, but I've seen a lot of huge portions of food that are meant to share! Also one giant donkasu challenge (which I think was also completed by a competitive eater from TH-cam).
What a beautifully presented stack of delicious delicacies. I salivated more than usual watching you munch your way through these, messy beard or not.
I like how she couldn't believe you could eat ALL THAT and she hadn't seen the other plates that vanished in 12 mins😂😂

It's a lot of sweet, I think one slice of cake that size would satisfy most people, and that's without all the other foods on top... That said, I'd give it a damn good go!

Man, at first i thought "alright, where is the catch?" and i suspected those 4 slices of cake. When you lifted that humongous "slice" of choclate cake i never thought that could still fit... I enjoyed this one. Mrs. Beard would have made a great partner. Here in southern California my women folk like to go for English High Tea. They think it's posh. The Songbird Cafe isn't posh. It's a cafe! Still I loved the venue and the food. Mrs. Beard would have only eaten 2 to 4 slices of bread from those sandwiches anyway, so Beard could have eaten all the cole slaw and the cakes by himself. Signed: a fan from southern California.
