1981 San Francisco. The Patrick Cowley singers JO Carol Lauren Carter, Carol McMackin.Label Megatone Records.Produced Patrick Cowley.Associate producer Marty Blecman
Brings back good memories. I lived in SF in the 1970's, and 1989's. Met a great guy Paul S, who knew Patrick, Paul Parker from work and introduced me to everyone including Sylvester. Such great memories of SF before it changed.
Yes, all Patrick Cowley lovers want to see him on professional documentaries as deserved. The media has always spammed us with mediocre artists and other "so called artists" who don't even deserve to be mentioned, while leaving out (underrated) the great genious of modern music, a genious of our time: PATRICK COWLEY (as usually has occured with other great genious of music in history, such as: Modest Mussorgsky, Georges Bizet, etc, who have died without enjoying the recognition they deserve.
Long ago and far away the world was a silent place People had no songs to sing no smile upon their face Then one day a voice was heard repeating a melody Other voices soon joined in setting the spirit free Thank God for music(3x) rhythm and harmony Everyday in every land the sound and the music move Spread it's magic to every heart and the whole world too Oh the music can touch you deep and bring out the love in you Take you to that special place and make all your dreams come true
Here I am dancing around in the bedroom, speakers blasting just like I did when this came out. While my love is no longer with me (RIP Dean) this song always brings a smile to my face thinking about the wonderful years we had together so I thank you, friscosound!!
17 years old walking into my first "bar"...I was so scared. It was so dark. I thought I was going to be raped. I never knew what to expect! I went alone, you had to be 18 to drink back then so faking 18 was easy. This was one of the songs I heard that night. Eventually I made tons of friends there, it was a great place to go, Frat House in Washington DC. Unfortunately in less than 10 years, I would be losing a lot of those friends. :( These people brought so much joy to this suburban kid. They were all wonderful!!! Music was a great way to Connect, Dancing was even a greater way to connect. Patrick Cowley was one of the Best!!
JUST read your post. I was 16yo going into my first bar/club. Looked 30! The early 80's, 1 year before AIDS. You wrote me exact experience! And lost all the friends, to AIDS. But this music is OUR anthem. Then, and today. Be proud! Remember them all. Your friend in Fla. Marc
Footage of Patrick Cowley performing live (solo/with other acts), rehearsing, recording etc, would do a fenomenal job to his video catalogue. Would be great to provide his professional legacy with professionally edited documentaries and music videos. Thank god for fans, friends, closest family members (the people who work the hardest at carrying his memory on). Patrick also gave a great, professional contribution to the music industry which also deserves professional recognition.
Exelente rola!!, patrick cowley era unico, que clase de legado nos dejo, gracias Patrick, que en donde quiera que te encuentres, estes bien, te lo mereces.
Great to ear from all your comments...I admire Patrick Cowley a lot. I dance his music when I just came out the closet...didn't have a clue the greatest he was...thanks for allowing me to know more from this talent man.
The story of Patrick and Sylvester is almost like Romeo and Juliet with romance replaced by a common love of music. Sylvester was like a Harvey Milk fancy type of gay while Patrick was a bath house clubbing gay and that conflict between the two sections of gays tore apart their professional relationship
Por aya cuando tenia 20 años. Cuando estaba por terminar miuniverseda, trabaja y estudiaba hoy juventud no se prepara solo vagancia droga ysexo que desperdicio
There's nothing wrong with your music who dislike me questions that I heard before memories when I was in England California and Maine did I tell you I was in England that's well yeah and England that's the reason why music is unusual to you they have no connection with my life Jazz love songs a whole assortment of things but I've been trying to get music that I can play at work that would help keep me awake would not allow Bluetooth in any form in the post office and is music I mean noises like 120 decibels

I saw the Patrick Cowley Singers perform in the Hexagon House at The Woods (Guerneville, CA) in 1981. Good times!
