My husband and I have an allotment and we had a bit of trouble with slugs so we use slug repellent and spread it around the produce, it's sage to do so hope that would help you out x
It’ll be greenfly and/or caterpillars making those small holes. Slugs too. Spraying slug spray doesn’t do a lot as it’ll wash off as soon as it rains - put down pellets instead at the base of each plant. You can spray leaves with a weakly made solution of washing up liquid and water which really works (doesn’t affect a human then eating the leaves as you’d wash it off anyway) but aphids hate it. I use it a lot on my runner beans and courgettes

I made a apple cider vinegar, dish soap and water mix but that didn’t seem to deter the caterpillars (well I have come to learn it’s cabbage wormsI have!) but I have made a new liquid which was made from the steeped leaves of my tomato plant - it stinks but fingers crossed it’s looking like it might be working a little better! I have got the pellets down and it has seemed to conquer the slugs x
Just be mindful of Jerry with pellets. He’s fine sniffing about in the flower beds but as with all gardening deterrent chemicals they’ll be harmful if he ingests. Glad they’re working though! Be sure to buy some portable glass covers to protect the plants as we eventually get the cooler autumn temperatures.
