Great job! As a lefty playing right handed I always struggle with strumming. I can Travis pick but struggle with strumming. This was very helpful! Thanks!

I wrote a song for my wife when we got married 17 years ago, performed it on guitar using the open C,D,Em chords you show in the middle of the video and the strum pattern you show at the end 🤯 (but I don't know how to use the left buttons on the accordion)

Thanks for the timing lesson with saying no to down up down up,,,, I’ve been playing for only four years and still struggle with timing.

Sean, what I'd really like and would pay money for is a good strumming course from you. a solid course on strumming from technique to the subtle enhancements you present in this video is missing online. Plenty of courses out there focus on patterns and the stupid Down up strumming and none that I can find show you practical ways to enhance intermediate strumming step by step. I love your strumming videos and I want more.

It is true that Elixir are the best. Tried most brands, elixir sounds great after you play them a long while. (Edited for Sean's sensibilities :) )

It really does allow just one chord to push the rhythm forward. With this technique you can add a few hammer-ons and really have a mush better sounding progression for sure.

Besides the accordion references these are the two best quotes:
    - Learning different voicings gets you more excited about strumming
    - The more options you have the less stuck you feel.

I’m working a lot on targeting areas of the strings when palm muting but I’m starting to notice my upper arm starts to get really tense and sore after. Any tips to free the tension while playing and palm muting?

Fun fact, I've always had difficulty with keeping a steady hand, I'm just naturally inclined to pause for some reason.

Guitar players who are in their prime can always play in 11/17 time or 13/17 time.

BONUS TIP: 4:54 Do that when YOU mess up. Laugh, don't laugh, point it out or don't. Just move on at all costs!
We all heard it as it happened, we all probably laughed and thought "oops Sean F'd up!' but none of us are legitimately judging him, and most people in the real world will do the exact same thing to you, and in my experience, the only time you'll hear someone judge your playing is when you're better than they are and they're mad about it, and it that point, F those guys.
