This has always been one of my favorite Schumann pieces but I have never heard it in this arrangement! The adagio really stands out, especially the ending with all the intertwining. Loved it, thanks for sharing.
The interaction among three performers is truly intimate, based on their mutual confidence. This hidden treasure should be more frequently heard and more highly estimated.
Just found Schubert's D.899, D.935; and D.946 which I have viewed this A.M. You might enjoy the younger Brendel. On Classival Vault !. D.780 is there also , but I haven't had time to watch yet. Have a good day.
6:15: here the mesmerising leitmotif in the film The Door (2012) begins. Oscar winning director Isván Szabó translates the book by Magda Szabó (no relation to!) into moving pictures (literally) with the help of the Schumann score and above all the extremely generous Helen Mirren. A must-watch after a must-read.
Well, no this was a bad idea. It was composed for piano, adding chords makes it Biedermeier, meaning common. It's awful, sorry. It could be Dvorak now. Any kind of this sort of trios, 100 were produced around Europe.

Wonderful playing of a real gem. Thank you. The more I listen to this, the more I love it.
For me it was love at first hearing.
Never heard this music before. A really beautiful series of miniatures played with feeling and art. Thank you for the video.
