There is basically two so far. The first is from the Hyperdimension Neptunia Idol Production where you play as a Producer to help get the goddess (one for each story) their shares and become the best idol in the whole world. The second male protagonist is from the Hyperdevotion Noire (this video) where the game focuses on Noire and the male protagonist that got dragged into this mess. Noire hired the guy because he moved to the big city looking for a job and saved noire (by giving her shares when she had no believers) from a monster.
One common misunderstanding is that this Noire isn't the same as the Hyperdimension Noire. In fact, virtually none of the Neptunia games are related in canon. The series employs the multiple universes concept wherein the leading characters exist and have the same personalities, but everything else is different. This is one possible Noire, but isn't the Noire of the Hyperdimension, Ultradimension, PPdimension, Heartdimension, Zerodimension or any variation therein. This is why Noire's yuri tendencies towards Neptune in some of the games do not contradict this Noire - they're different people. For fans, it's pretty great that they do this. It allows the Megatagmension Nepgear and Uni to openly admit they're in love with each other when that didn't and wouldn't happen to their Hyperdimension counterparts. The good news is that no matter the dimension, Noire is a massive tsundere.
Totally agree, but I THINK (not entirely sure) Hyperdimension mk2 (Also Rebirth 2), Hyperdimension V (Also Rebirth 3), and Megadimension VII are all canon with the main story since they have mentioned several events that happened within the game. For example, Nepgear (V, and Rebirth 3) mentioned that she was a protagonist before (Mk2, Rebirth 2). Another example would be that in Megadimension, when they saw Croire and how Adult Neptune mentioned Plutia.
All of those games exist in the Hyperdimension, but not the same Hyperdimension - they're not canonly related. Note that all of those mentions came from fourth-wall-breaking Neptune and her slightly fourth wall nudging sister. These are done as fanservice but they are not referencing events that personally occured to those versions of the characters. In Producing Perfection, when you pick which cpu to work with, the other 3 seemed a little upset. Then at the end, when the producer wants to go home, the goddesses don't want you to go and refuse to send you back, then which you have to persuade them. Taking this into account, I believe this is why hyperdimension lacks a male human character in the main cast, it would probably and up like a harem with most of the girls fighting for his affection.
Saori is interested, but the others aren't. Keep in mind PP is a totally different canon. [The Player] is a totally separate person. The main reason there are so male characters in Neptunia is the same reason there are so few male characters in Touhou. Originally, it had to do with making characters more distinct, but now, it's simply tradition. There are self aware jokes about male NPCs in Re;Birth 2 especially.

I genuinely enjoyed this game a lot, it is easily one of my favorites. I think the hate it gets is because people always misunderstand self-inserts. Secretary-San is basically you, the player, i don't understand why people often get jealous of him, it would be like getting jealous of yourself. It was one of the main reasons why i bought this game and enjoyed it from the start to the end. not the case for everyone, but i immersed a lot in the story thanks to it. Lady Noire (that's how i always call her thanks to this game) is now a very special person to me. This game also helped me a lot in a time that was hard in my life. Thank you goddesses, thank you generals, and, overall, thanks to you Lady Noire. Thank you for everything.

This is Hyperdevotion Noire, a spin-off game starring Noire and a whole cast of characters referencing many beloved classic gaming franchises. Satori is a direct reference to Tokimeki Memorial and the original "confess under the tree atop the hill" dating sim trope. Early in the game, Noire hires a young man who comes to Lastation looking for work. When her shares plummet but the young man still has faith in her anyway, Noire hires him as her personal secretary. Essentially [you] are the male. Noire's Secretary is the player. By correctly completing Sim Noire - the game's dating sim element wherein Lastation residents write letters to Noire and you've given multiple options on how Noire ought to respond - Noire eventually goes from cold to neutral to well, tsundere, especially after Noire finds out that Satori is also in love with him. With affinity with Noire at 100%, you get this scene late in the game.

In the blatant Tokimeki Memorial spoof, Saori falls in love with Noire's secretary at first sight, and henceforch uses the honorific ~san with him. well there is plenty of male antagonists in the franchise. Mr. Badd from rebirth 3, Tricky, Anonydeath, CFW Brave, CFW Judge, and Warechu just to name a few. most of the non-evil male characters arent visible. and in this case the player interacts to Noire.

You're welcome to your opinion, but I strongly disagree. Sting makes highly detail oriented TBS games, and Hyperdevotion Noire is a perfect example. Now, maybe you don't like TBS. But that doesn't meant the game is bad. In fact, I hope that there will be a sequel someday.

Sometimes English voice casting ruins games as it's often done so incredibly poorly. But sometimes English voice acting improves what was originally done. In this case, I think Erin Fitzgerald brings a quality to Noire that's missing from Asami Imai's portrayal. Fitzgerald is an equally talented actress who brings a sort of subtlety to Noire's tsundere nature that further enhances the character from just when she's overly tsundere. It's layering and that's something that very few dubs add. That's why I can't agree in this case.

For me (for Noire) both Dub and Sub are good, i'm a Sub one player for these game in like 95% of the time, but for some game like this one (for just some character not all) and Persona 4 Golden i prefer the English voice.

Unfortunately, Erin Fitzgerald [English voice of Noire] recently confirmed that she will not be returning as Noire in the dub of Cyberdimension Neptunia, and potentially any future Neptunia title starring Noire.
The reasoning is because at least for Cyberdimension Neptunia, Idea Factory refused a Screen Actors Guild union contract, which had been in place for all of the other games.
SAG is responsible for nearly all of the best English talent and the ongoing strike is affecting numerous projects.
I’m really, really hoping this is a temporary problem that will only affect the dub of Cyberdimension Neptunia, not all future Neptunia content as well.
Fitzgerald loves playing Noire and would return to voicing her if Idea Factory put a SAG contract in place. This is where we, the fans, can help.
If you care about Erin Fitzgerald reappraising Noire in future games, do what you can to get involved. Write to Idea Factory on twitter, email and good ol’ snail mail and tell them how passionate you are about the series maintaining the principle voice actresses. I’m not calling for a boycott, I’m simply attempting to mobilize the community behind talented voice actors including Fitgerald.
Secondly, also write to Erin thanking her for her amazing work and encouraging her to work with Idea Factory should they decide to do the right thing for future projects and sign her as a SAG union contract. While there will always be Asami Imai, Erin Fitzgerald is and forever will be the only English voice for Noire.
Please write politely to Idea Factory. Send the message that voice actors are irreplaceable assets to gamers and the developers and publishers need to treat them as such.
Do it for the Neptunia community. Do it for Erin Fitzgerald. Do it for Lastation, *DO IT FOR NOIRE!*

The physical Vita version and not some digital sale? Well either way, awesome! Hyperdevotion Noire is one of my favorite games from the past few years. I just recently 100% beat it with all characters level 99, which took quite a while. I hope that Sting will make a sequel in the future. This is quite different from the Neptunia series proper and is rife with sequel potential.

This is Hyperdevotion Noire, a spin-off game starring Noire and a whole cast of characters referencing many beloved classic gaming franchises. Satori is a direct reference to Tokimeki Memorial and the original "confess under the tree atop the hill" dating sim trope.
Early in the game, Noire hires a young man who comes to Lastation looking for work. When her shares plummet but the young man still has faith in her anyway, Noire hires him as her personal secretary.
Essentially [you] are the male. Noire's Secretary is the player. By correctly completing Sim Noire - the game's dating sim element wherein Lastation residents write letters to Noire and you've given multiple options on how Noire ought to respond - Noire eventually goes from cold to neutral to well, tsundere, especially after Noire finds out that Satori is also in love with him.
With affinity with Noire at 100%, you get this scene late in the game.

One common misunderstanding is that this Noire isn't the same as the Hyperdimension Noire.
In fact, virtually none of the Neptunia games are related in canon. The series employs the multiple universes concept wherein the leading characters exist and have the same personalities, but everything else is different. This is one possible Noire, but isn't the Noire of the Hyperdimension, Ultradimension, PPdimension, Heartdimension, Zerodimension or any variation therein.
This is why Noire's yuri tendencies towards Neptune in some of the games do not contradict this Noire - they're different people.
For fans, it's pretty great that they do this. It allows the Megatagmension Nepgear and Uni to openly admit they're in love with each other when that didn't and wouldn't happen to their Hyperdimension counterparts. The good news is that no matter the dimension, Noire is a massive tsundere.

Fitzgerald is an equally talented actress who brings a sort of subtlety to Noire's tsundere nature that further enhances the character from just when she's overly tsundere. For me (for Noire) both Dub and Sub are good, i'm a Sub one player for these game in like 95% of the time, but for some game like this one (for just some character not all) and Persona 4 Golden i prefer the English voice.
