Very well said Adam. There were a couple times during this game where i thought "this is where we pissed down our legs" the past 5 years. Not today. The Blackshirts were par to the task. The moment was never to big for them. They(defense) seem to be much better at forgetting about a bad play/technique/series and just moving on. They dont let a bad play beat them again. Its refreshing and encouraging.

Yes, I agree, finding ways to win is much better than finding ways to lose. However, (I get no pleasure from saying this), but Nebraska's offense is terrible.

@@garymorris1856 the offense is painful to watch. The body language during pregame warm ups is so much better under Rhule. OK , here's the ugly duckling story. The ugly duckling was abandoned by it's family and a mother duck came along and took it under her wing and cared for it. @@brockrobison8597because statistically one out of three passes hits the ground and when it does it doubles the minimum yardage to gain on the next play to stay on schedule, you cannot set up the run with the pass.

Rhule needs to design plays for Haarbert to be successful on early on throws. WR's dropping passes that should be caught. Other team are catching hot throws. We are young on Offense. Stick to the basics for right now. HH should pitch the ball occasionally to keep the option a liable plsy call. We are improving. Baby steps. We need a break out game, that woukd be fun. Hey our defense dominated a bad team that was almost as bad as our offense. Haarberg I think overall is a pretty good QB but don't know if anyone has noticed but he hasn't even thought about pitching a ball on the option when many times there is a clear path for that running back. He's a good runner but we are having him run too much and is bound to get hurt if he keeps running so much, you can already see his running style has changed a bit cause he probably is feeling being the leading rusher for the huskers.

For me this whole season has been and is about setting the table for year 2 & 3 of the Matt Rhule era. Both of his previous college coaching stops it's taken 2 or 3 years before his system took off. So far, especially defensively, I'm liking the progress. Given the lack of real difference makers at the skill positions on offense, I've got to tip my hat the o-line.
Under the previous two staffs, the huskers would have figured out to lose/give away this game. Instead----for the first time in a looooooooooong time Nebraska just might/.maybe go bowling.

I do not know what ttb means but would love to know! I don't feel any better about the offense. I probably feel a little worse about the offense with the interceptions and fumbles. My opinion only our quarterback looked really out of place at the start of the game because he was throwing so much. I wondered if our OC worked up the game plan to do more passing and that's just not who we are. It seems like our OC is not on the same page as our HC. That's o.k. he just needs to move on. Again, my opinion. I am not an expert just a passionate Husker fan who is excited for the direction of our program. I highly respect and like Coach Ruhle. GBR!

the offense made me think of clowns early in the game...with all the interceptions and putting the ball on the ground. But they managed to WIN!

A win is a win I'll take it ! I think Sims is a high character person. I just can't get past his issues with turning the ball over I m ok with him being the back up. Hopefully he has learned some lessons while healing up that ankle ! Man Grant would be a stud if he would take care of the rock . I seen that he is still carrying the ball loosely!

What do you think about the Special team? I thought they would like Jeff Sims come in for a quarter. Love our Blackshirts and still biting my nails on the offense.

Purdue is giving up 29.9 ppg and 395 yards/game. This is a team the offense might be able to do some stuff against.

    Is Simms going to stay?

I'm happy to see us win ugly because we can only get better. if the huskers are playing ugle and winning, we;ll take it. Jeff Sims might have a chance to redeem himself yet. I was thinking he should have gotten a chance today.. Whatever, we won and I'm happy with the rest of Husker nation. GBR

I didn’t understand the first play of the game being a fairly long pass.

Adam, we will take the win, but we are sloppy. My hope was the biweek would help us improve, and it didn’t. I am neutral about where I was a few weeks ago. Need to see better ball control, and fewer turnovers.

I think Haarberg commits himself to the run too early, especially on third down. There were times he could have pitched the ball to his option back and didn't. However, based on Rhule's post-game report, I do think that Billy Kemp leaving the game early put a "monkey wrench" into their offensive plan.

I feel apprehensive about the Huskers. Even though the defense is stellar and keeping us in the games, the offense MUST score more points!!!

I mean...we are playing one of the worst rushing d in the conference...so starting with passes might not have been the best idea.
