I’ve just noticed and wrote that too! I’ve never noticed it before now. It’s probably because I’m watching this scene on my phone instead of a large television!?!?! But it did make me chuckle when I did notice it. It’s just an instant reaction anyone would do if they lose something and someone else finds it and ask’s “who lost” whatever they lost in the first place. It would be more funny it wasn’t in the script because it’s such a small detail that could easily be over looked and Matt/the 11th Doctor just automatically put his hand up to say “yes me” and they left it in!
John Hurt, who has never played the Doctor before, is absolutely perfect here. He acts so much like the earlier versions of the Doctor. He cracks a few jokes but is still serious, perfect classic Dr energy

I just love John Hurt's acting in this. The other doctors are almost panicking and pointing their screwdrivers around frantically when the soldiers arrive but the War doctor, no, he just stands there calmly and cracks a joke at the face of the threat. Pictured the whole "warrior used to the heat of battle" thing perfectly.

The BBC has a history of mistreating Northern actors, especially if they wont drop their accent like Tennent did. Eccleston refused to cover his accent so they dropped him. My theory for “timey-whimy” is that the Gallifreyan concept of time does not translate to English and “timey-whimy” is as close as the Doctor can get to explaining it.
What I loved most about this episode was how the three doctors acted as if War Doctor is the Dad, and Ten and Eleven are the kids, while Eleven is the cute baby, of course. The only thing that could have make this even greater would have been Nine as the oldest brother :D
Actually, the War Doctor originally wasn’t going to happen. Steven Moffat went to Christopher Eccleston and asked him to come back, but Eccleston decided to decline even though he considered it. The War Doctor was created to circumvent that. He basically took Nine’s role in the story.

I love their different reactions to seeing the War Doctor, with Ten being horrified and Eleven being shocked. The passage of time's effect on their demeanors is remarkable.
A nice little romp of whimsical weirdness instead of fire blood and death for once. He has his dour moments when he's reminded of the circumstances of the why in his meeting these two, but he's clearly enjoying himself... if also somewhat put-off by some of the quirks of his older selves. But that's kind of a constant among any meeting between Doctors.
In all seriousness, that actually can be true sometimes. When three Doctors were figuring out how to disable the force field on Rassilon's Tomb in the Death Zone on Gallifrey, the 2nd Doctor was confused by the phrase, "To lose is to win, and he who wins shall lose." and at the end of the events of "The Five Doctors", the *1st* Doctor is the one who realizes what that phrase meant. Not the 5th Doctor, not the 4th Doctor, not the 2nd Doctor and not even the 3rd Doctor! The 1st Doctor! Now *that* is amazing! And an example of the earliest version of The Doctor being the cleverest one.
the later or earlier a regeneration is doesn't make a difference in intelligence or being wise. sure the docotor has more experience as he lives but the personality of the individual doctor changes. being young like 10 and 11 also comes with a sort if naivety in a way.

You know How you can tell the war doctor is still the doctor. He surrounded by soldiers threatening to kill him and all he can focus on is how young and juvenile he’s going to be in the future
Within 10 seconds the war doctor somehow manages to figure out its afternoon after jumping through a time fissure into a forest with no obvious shadows and without looking up at the sky. I guess timelords can feel time.
Time is actually revealed to be one of the Timelord’s senses in the audios (much akin to touch, taste and smells). It made it all the more traumatic when the eighth doctor once ended up in a universe where the concept of time did not exist.

Apart from the upmost hilarity of this scene the thing I love the most here is that sibtle nod and eyebrow rise from Tenth Doctor when War Doctor's asks "Even that one?" while pointing at the Eleventh Doctor. Like he is saying "Yeah. I'm shocked too!"

Seeing The Doctor(s) pointing their sonics like that at the medieval soldiers... this really begs one to theorize that this probably is the origin of why the fables and stories of depicting Wizards owning magic wands. The Wizards and wands are modeled after The Doctor and his Sonic Screwdriver + the pointing before making "magic" things to happen. But that's just a theory.

I love how the 11th Doctor sounds like they’ve just been insulted when asked “are you his companions?” The face he pulls when he say’s “his companions!?!” It’s like “*how dare you?? His companions! Really?*”
so this is what the doctor did to piss off elizabeth? love the way they finished that missing section of the tenth doctor's story.
Well he married Elizabeth later in Day of the Doctor, but the thing was he promised to come back... and he didn't. So Elizabeth proclaimed him and enemy, as you saw in the Shakespeare Code.
@@juno1752 From what I remember, the Doctor asked her to marry him, thinking that she was a Zygon and only a Zygon would except immediately, but it turns out the horse was the Zygon, so he was now forced to marry her since he already agreed to it.
@@juno1752 He might have forgot since his memory would have been wiped after this encounter, but I'm not sure why he wouldn't have let her know earlier.
@@edwardarroyo884 He didn't get much of a chance to return. For ten this is shortly before End of Time. He might have revisited her once or twice (he had to sit for that painting at some point) and intended to go back again, but then everything with the Master and Gallifrey happened.

Apart from the upmost hilarity of this scene the thing I love the most here is that sibtle nod and eyebrow rise from Tenth Doctor when War Doctor's asks "Even that one?" while pointing at the Eleventh Doctor. Like he is saying "Yeah. I'm shocked too!"
Wow in that episode you really see how similar ten and eleven really are....

@Aya Jadayel: John Hurts version is called The War Doctor, but one of the incarnations [ I think Capaldi's not sure] said that he didn't call himself the Doctor in that incarnation so he is just known as The War Doctor and comes after McGann's film version [ Pity Paul didn't get a series] and before Eccleston I think [ number would probably be 8.5 Doctor ].

I love how when they get circled by the soldiers, the 10th and 11th Doctors both stood there pointing their screwdrivers at them whilst the War Doctor was just stood there not bothered at all and acting like there was nothing to worry about!

Seeing The Doctor(s) pointing their sonics like that at the medieval soldiers... this really begs one to theorize that this probably is the origin of why the fables and stories of depicting Wizards owning magic wands. The Wizards and wands are modeled after The Doctor and his Sonic Screwdriver + the pointing before making "magic" things to happen.
But that's just a theory.
