I didn’t know how serious this booking was going to be, but then I saw Adam in a vest. That is when I knew this was 100% serious.

I enjoyed it, but then if Billie Kay is on my screen I’m usually entertained. The bit with Payton I just saw as her being upset, a little embarrassed by her rash actions, and wondering what Billie was going to say when she woke up.

Adam in a tank top is the most unintentionally depressing image I have seen this week.
Learning about Raw Underground, however, is the most unintentionally depressing _thing_ I have learned about in quite some time.
6:32 Props for being able to say "Weird Shane and his pet boys" without flinching.
Anyone else got this really gutted and depressed feeling after watching these Adam Videos knowing that WWE just keeps throwing away great chances like that?
This honestly could have had so much potential if only they leaned into the silliness, instead the "Gritty REAL fighting" Underground was portrayed as it should have been treated as like a Netflix spinoff, this dystopian underground fighting arena, athletes forced to compete, friend vs friend, pushed to their physical and moral limits all to appease little Shano who's finally gone mad with power, also for Season 2, why not have the Hurt Business be the new hosts, since they're basically a capitalist mafia, so why not have them actually fun the fight club?
I like it. You could even have the end of "Season 1" be a streetlight in the arena between Shane's enforcers and the interloping Hurt Business, who win the fight and take over Raw Underground.
Also, I love the idea of Shane playing a dystopian megamaniacal godhead in a baseball jersey, forcing these very muscular people to fight each other, and I would absolutely tune in every week to watch that

I LOVE this. Treat it like a King Of The Ring and have a season of 12 wrestlers every two or three years. And have the final show be a PPV or Network special.

The Crucible was a secret fight club operating out of the Chikara Wrestle Factory after hours with all the markings of a cult. Rookies were made to wear full masks, having to earn the privilege of a face and name. Trainees were called "Carbon" and elite fighters "Jewels." They used brutal training methods that went against the Wrestle Factory's philosophy.
Crucible fights (not matches) were fought in a darkened building in a ring without ropes surrounded by other Crucible members (Sound familiar?). 2 min time limit. Win by tapout, KO, or (the coward's way out) ring out. Losers got the crap kicked out of them by all the trainees at ringside. In the event of a draw or ring out, BOTH got a beating. Repeated failure gets you severly injured and thrown out on the street.
By the time the Crucible started to invade Chikara events, they were so vicious they were KOing top stars in 2 minutes. This led to Chikara vs. Crucible feuds and Crucible fights being added to Chikara events.
Sadly, Chikara shut down before the angle could run its course, but it's obvious to anyone who followed the story at the time that RAW Underground was a poor man's Crucible.

However, no Aleister Black? No Andrade? I feel they would thrive in this environment. Andrade can bring out his mean streak, constantly going after people with weapons, and Black can murder everyone by kicking them cross-eyed.

I agree that they'd be pretty great in that setting, but who would you swap out then? Bo Dallas being the one to lose at the end makes sense, who would be the "from behind underdog" then? Who is the one to fill out the middle of the pack, that year they can put on a good match but ultimately do the job?

I am so SO glad to be around in an era where Adam doesn't want to but he *has to* give these heavenly gifts to us.
Honestly? I would watch the hell out of this. It's everything I loved out of Lucha Underground, maybe even through a "Immunity" contract, or like a "Feast or Fired" style option in there where people never know what's going to happen.

@@trinibad1452 cesaro is "boring" because he's not perfectly fluent in English so Vince barely let's him talk. The man is seriously amazing in the ring when he's allowed to go and can show off what he REALLY can do. I think the best thing for him to make him seen more credible would be giving him a mouth piece. Someone charismatic who can cut intense promos while Cesaro just sits in the back and looks cool
i love this idea and this is what i was hoping raw underground would evolve into because take a bunch of midcard guys and do a tournament arc where they get to show off what they can do not separate but adjacent to the rest of raw would be awesome

Probably not, at least yet. Did you notice that the "How Adam Would Book" series is all based on past angles and events that didn't work? Dexter Lumis has to fail on the main roster first. So in other words, give it a couple of years, as I'm sure that if/when he gets called up, they'll screw that up and Adam will then have a reason to rebook it.
I want it too, but I also don’t because I want him to be booked well!

Honestly? This was really impressive and really interesting. I would love to watch this version of Raw Underground, considering the potential realism of not just the fighting, but also the characters that we see over the course of the season. I love this booking! Shame it wasn't to be...

About a year or two before Raw Underground was shown on television, indie promotion Chikara introduced something similar called the Crucible. While you can draw similarities to both, the main difference was that the Crucible had a build as to why it was formed, and that the Crucible was another method to create and build wrestlers in a different style. So to me personally whenever I hear about Raw Underground I think to my self, "Huh. This was just the Crucible but done wrong."

In 1998 or 2010? I believe his 2010 reign was four or so months when he had SD's Big Gold world title. But yeah I think in 1998 he won it then lost it the same night I think.
Sir Joelsuf 1998, because I said wwe title, not world heavyweight title. He beat Austin for the wwe title the same night Mick Foley got thrown from the top of the cell, and then dropped it back to Austin the following night on Raw. Kane's world heavyweight title was when he cashed in his money in the back briefcase on Rey Mysterio the same night he won it (way before Moxley, Bliss, and Bayley did it), and held it all the way till the end of 2010 when he dropped it to Edge

I loved this booking, it's silly but really interesting, however, I don't think Shane should be defeated on the first season, as this concept is basically a wrestling battle royale anime, you could do different seasons with different rosters because a battle royale is basically the concept and the characters, so defeating Shane should be a really big thing

Honestly, I don’t understand why no wrestling promotion (WCPW notwithstanding) has actually hired Adam as a member of the creative team. Almost every single one of these booking videos would be amazing in real life.
I guess the one reason is that it’s always easier to book hypothetically? But he was a part of WCPW which had some really fun and engaging stories so who knows

Honestly, with this anime tone Adam was taking it with, putting it on later at night after RAW and really leaning into the sillies would probably attract a lot of the Adult Swim crowd who love wrestling, because there is a surprising amount of crossover between wrestling fans and anime fans.
Of course there is! They are both forms of heightened storytelling, using fights to tell a compelling story.

RAW Underground is probably what Vince thinks kids do with their wrestling action figures except I'm pretty sure children could come up with a better show.

You know, you led off with "I don't want this" but after watching this video twice, I actually can't imagine something that would make me want to watch Raw more than *exactly* this.
I got an idea. Raw Underground could've been like the Def Jam games.
I didn't think Adam would take my suggestion to have Raw Underground be the last hour of Raw but he did. The only thing I changed is have both Viking Raiders in place of Bo Dallas until Ivar gets injured and that's when Bo Dallas joins Raw Underground. The matches are also won by pinfall, submission, and knockout. Cesaro of course gets the world title shot but Chad Gable gets a mid card title shot and The Hurt Business debut on the final episode to make a deal with Shane McMahon. Omos is also revealed to be Shane McMahon new henchmen on the final episode.
Y'all should do a "challenge mode" fantasy booking in which Oli can at any point just stick his head in and decide that a principle wrestler in Adam's booking is now injured, and Adam has to work around it.
This would be great because a) more fantasy booking, b) we get to see how versatile Adam can be and how much he can improvise, and c) because Adam will go on an absolute tirade at some point after Oli interferes in a really annoying way and it would be really funny.
I know this is a lame comment LOL but when I see how Adam would book, I never click faster
