As someone who has Been collecting for 4 years and playing the tcg for 1 year the points you made are 100% accurate, going from strictly collecting to playing made me look at the cards in a different way, meet new people and love playing the game. Great video!
Yeeees!! I’m so glad to hear that 🙏 Thx so much for watching and for the comment. It makes me so happy to hear from other collectors turned players who are loving both worlds 🙌
Been playing the TCG on and off since 2008 and I always enjoyed the game because it's simple to learn and cheap. Once you start getting into the groove things start connecting like stings on a concept board and you can make your own decks.
I’m glad you’ve enjoyed playing over the years! I just love reading the cards from new sets and imagining the ways they could play in different decks. It’s so much fun and I feel like the people who don’t play are missing out on so much fun 😊
dude. I WISH I could play this game IRL. This game is so hard to break into. League days take literally 4-5 hours to play three rounds because my LGS is so badly disorganized. There's another league night nearby, but it's on Friday night, which doesn't work for my family schedule.
I’m sorry to hear that 😭 I have yet to attend a League - I kinda jumped in head first and went to a Regional as my first ever in-person event 😅 I ended up playing 5 best of 3 matches over about 6 hours before dropping out and it was EXHAUSTING haha. So I feel ya, and only getting through 3 matches in that time would suck 🥲 I hope you can find more opportunities to play soon 🙏
@@tcgbuyersclub Right?! Also, I had a question. In your experience, Dip playable secret rares drop price after rotation? Like Palkia VSTAR from Crown Zenith?
Hm, it’s hard to say. It depends on how much the current price is driven by players. For the pricier playable alt arts, my guess is that the price should go down but not by much.
Very solid points. I've come back to the hobby to play the game mostly and I initially hated the new pokemons since I'm an OG. I hated the look of Chien Pao at first but after playing it for months and having fun with this deck, I started to love this icey dog. This game is super easy to pick up and most of all... so much more affordable than MTG. I can build a top tier standard deck for less than $100 CAD.
Yes!! I love this - thx for sharing your experience. I agree it’s easier to get into and so much cheaper than MTG. And I think there’s so much more to like about the characters, even the ones you don’t like at first like Chien Pao, haha. Thx so much for watching 🙏
@@tcgbuyersclub I agree, the trainers are really bringing some other dimensions to the game. Back when I was a kid, I don't remember them being such important cards. I like cards like Irida and Iono but the collectors can keep the alt arts and SIR versions lol.
@EditorJord I recently played the Gameboy Color Pokémon TCG game, which uses cards from Base Set through Fossil and the trainers back then were CRAZY strong! I just had no idea how to play the game as a kid and never knew haha.
As a old timer from hobby. That is solid advice. Plus the best promos come with playing. Heres some old timer advice.....never sell your duff cards, pack themup and stow them away. Your grandchildren will love you. Bind up.sets.
I'm not a pokemon collector so much as someone who sometimes gets a sudden urge of nostalgia and buys a pack of pokemon cards at the checkout. But interesting video 😀
I support your occasional urge to buy a pack (or 2, or… 3??) The recent Pokemon 151 set is a great hit of nostalgia if you find them 😉 Thx so much for giving my video a watch!
Nice video! I’m a newcomer to Pokèmon. I’ve played Magic off and on since 1994 and I’ve never gave much consideration to Pokèmon until recently. I consider myself a player first and foremost but I do enjoy the collectible aspect of it and find investing very interesting. Over the past 2 months I’ve totally immersed myself into the hobby and I’m loving every minute of it. Looking forward to seeing more content from you, please keep it up!
I've been collecting since the start, but I really only bother with the WotC era and the Delta-Species (Holon Region) block... Gen1-3 I guess. I wish we could get some of the new Johto evolutions/variants like Clodsire and Farigiraf printed in the old Neo block style.
It would be really cool to see some more vintage throw-back styles! I loved seeing a bit of that in the Celebrations set. When I started collecting again I also focused on vintage cards. It was learning the game that started making me enthusiastic about modern too. Now that I think about it, I don’t know if that was good or bad 🤔🤣 (JK I’m loving all of it.) Thx for watching!!
I knew you would be team TCG 💪 Thx for the ongoing support 😊 I’m sure we’ll slowly get more people playing and enjoying the game. It’s already happening!!
Gives me "athletes should take dance classes" vibes. You can learn a whole lot from a seemingly unrelated skillset and think this is a great idea TCG Buyer!

I appreciate the kind words and advice 😊 Thanks for watching!!
When I was a kid Charmeleon was one of my favorite Pokémon,
Not my favorite Pokémon anymore, but I still think it’s cooler than charizard.
Hey, that’s awesome 😊 They’re obviously not my favourite but I love that you’re Team Charmeleon 💪 Thanks so much for the comment!

Welcome and thank you for watching 🙏 If you haven’t started playing yet the Pokemon Trading Card Game Live app makes it easy to get started 😊
@@tcgbuyersclub oh yeah, I’ve just downloaded it and I’ve been playing for a few days now. Thanks for the suggestion! 🙂

I try to say this all the time! They are just stubborn and don't trust me, even if not related to the prices of cards and investing.
