If you're wondering who Ken Takakura is, he is the manliest actor who actually existed in Japan. Internationally, Takakura-san has acted in Michael Douglas' movie "Black Rain". He has played numerous characters like, Hitmen, Yakuzas and Police Inspectors.

For context, the ending moment was essentially like if a nerd from your high school said 'do ya feel lucky, punk?' and then revealed his name is Clint Eastwood. Takakura Ken has been called the Clint Eastwood of Japan, and is known as the originator of the 'hard boiled manly man' stereotype over there. That line 'I'm an awkward fellow after all' is a really famous line from a super well-known commercial he did.

Takakura is a very common family name and Ken is a very common first name. So while it's the name of a famous actor, it's also not very out there that the main character would have the same name.
