You'll want to open up the ice pack before you left with your 3.1 million pound prize. If you're lucky, it'll be tuna heads. More likely, just the fins and spine bone.
All of this looked so good, I was so jealous watching the two of you enjoying all that. That was a LOT of food. Beautiful pieces of art. I loved how they greeted each guest as they came in and said something again as they left.
I was so disappointed, because he kept doing it. I know it is not that easy since he is probably looking through his camera lens, but he needs to practice a little bit more!
@@vnbigardi It's because these chefs train more for foreigners who like to dip rice directly into the soy sauce first. Hiro back in the US has people eat his sushi properly, that's why camera guy does it too.
idk, its not my culture but am into sushi and i've seen soo much of hiro's cooking and doing sushi and i know he does a way better job. it just seems like they just put stuff together and BAM!! SUSHI!!.. show them how its done hiro...
its different in Tokyo. Its fast paced city life there so the expectation is you get in, get your food, pay, and get out. To us, we care more about aesthetics.
Sushi sanmai is a chain with most branches open 24hrs. Fish quality wise It's the best bang for your bucks. Over all quality is in between kaiten sushi(conveyer belt) and high end places. I'd say it's leaning towards the high end. All things aside, when you have a sushi craving at 3:30am, you look no further than sushi sanmai.
That reminds me so much of the first sushi restaurant I went to in Tokyo with my Dad when we went to Japan in 2001. The prices were not very different back then, I remember Tako was 180 yen a piece, and it turned out to be my favorite. I went back for lunch twice and just got several pieces of Tako, and they served some very good japanese beer in a huge clear mug... man I loved that place
Besides the drool all over my keyboard and shirt now, That camera quality is Spot on and just lets me appreciate that sushi even more. No lie Mr.Cameraman you were kinda killing me when you were slamming the rice part of the Nigiri into the soy sauce.( i was slightly triggered) haha.
Sushi Zanmai is amazing... good quality at a decent Price* * i know Hiro and Charles paid 150$ but they went all out... if you go there to have a regular meal you pay around 30-50$
Tera-san has definitely more refined style in presentation.... more of an upscale restaurant. This sushi/sashimi resembles casual fast food handling and eating. Enjoyed both of you and thank you. BTW, any planned trips to nearby Yokohama where I grew up?
Hey guys, i'm new to this Channel and i absolutly love the videos. Not only the content, but you two as a duo just go very well together. I have one question though: What's up with the "Good Afternoon" comments? xD
Was just there in June (Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyōto); very nicely mannered people. I wish LA’s public transportation was half as efficient as Tokyo’s! Tanoshimu
I visit this restaurant every time I visit relatives in Tokyo. For those of us flying in from Canada/US, make it your first stop. Your jet lag will be making you waking up at 2 or 3am local Japan time, so might as well hit up Tsukiji fishmarket for the world famous Tokyo Tuna Auction....which starts around 4 am I think it is?
Yes the best place in Tokyo. The fish market moved to a new location but there are food vendors still here which you will see from next video. Best part is this place is open 24/7!!!
Charles and hiro.... can you always flash on the screen where you are please??. I’m using your recommendations as to where’s the best place to go during my stay in Tokyo or Japan for that matter..... thanks 🙏
Could anyone tell me the names again for lean tuna, med fat tuna, and fatty tuna? I kinda have all 3 names floating in my head and can't remember which is which.
There's a huge difference between eating sushi with a good soy sauce and regular soy sauce... that's certainly one of the reasons why japanese sushi tastes even better, cause they know it makes a huge difference...
Midnight7762 kid u gotta get the currency right. Dollar can be used in many countries and what is most known use of is USD which is the currency in the USA and Yen represents the money currency in Japan so that what it was shown in the video 355,000~450,000 monthly was actually yen not USD, Hiro was mistaken as he was saying its dollar in the video. Xd
Hiro, my friend, g11d aftern11n!!! Fantastic video! Tokyo looks great! This restaurant serves delicious sushi... Please post more vids like this!!! Greetings from 🇩🇪!!! I ❤️ 🇯🇵 and 🍣
Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef well when I make it out to Japan someday I will have to go to this place. Hopefully next year when I’m back in my home country of South Korea for a vacation I can visit japan
Wow. $3.5k - $4.5k per month to make simple sushi in Japan? I’m getting $2.5k a month here in the states to make rolls containing 5+ ingredients drenched with 3 different sauces that completely masks the flavors of the fish, and a bunch of garnish that ends up in the trash.
Eating sushi for the first time in Japan qualifies as one of the best feelings in the world!
I know from experience as a travel foodie in Japan!
This is so true....Thank you for your comment...!
True that!
Hiroyuki Terada - Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef whale meat really. Their endangered fool
I ate sushi 2 times in Japan and I personally prefer westernized sushi.
@@nigelinoooo I almost have that same feeling. Maybe i will vlog and compare Japan vs. LA sushi

$612 for 3.1M Pound Tuna.

That guy sound funny.....every time some one comes in. He's like ..HeeeEEEEE😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Been waiting for this series. I'm so excited to watch every second of this series.
Thank you so much 😊
The fluidity and quality of the video was so trippy to watch. Not sure if anyone else agrees. We've come far in streaming videos.
Was shot on a phone camera so it wouldn’t intimidate the chef.
the rice falling in the shōyu multiple times gave me anxiety lol
I was so disappointed, because he kept doing it. I know it is not that easy since he is probably looking through his camera lens, but he needs to practice a little bit more!
@@3XTS I don't think it was his fault, Hiro did the same thing, the rice was too loose

Vanessa Bigardi it’s a low quality sushi restaurant, that’s all
Doesn't Hiro like resemble everyone's favorite uncle or something... It would be awesome to go with him to a Sushi restaurant!

And a huge difference in the amount of soy sauce used between the two.
I use spoon

Never dip rice in soy only fish lol. Use hand to eat sushi too, not sticks. They would embarrass somebody at a dinner party in Japan lol

We wish we had time to go there. 😓
This may be a long shot but I'm wondering what you or hiro have to say about using the rest of the fish or the head?
That tuna was bidded as the first tuna of the year, therefore it was more of a symbol for good luck and marketing.

Title has to do with the display outside the restaurant. They spoke about it before they went in.
Looking forward to the other videos of Japan.

Either that nigiri was made too loosely or those neta (fish topping) were too big to where they wouldn’t stay stuck to the shari (rice ball).
