Happy holidays! Acme (The link below) has it for $229 right now. That is the most affordable I could find it. If you find it for less, please let me know.
for the price of the packout charger, if i add $50, i can buy 2 regular 6-bay chargers and a packout crate…that would allow me to charge 12 batteries, two at a time, and still be able to stack on top of the crate if i choose to…
Sorry, but I have the older 6 bay rapid charger and it charges 3 at a time versus this with only 2 at a time. It just has 3 m18 slots and 3 m12 and charges either the m18 first or the m12 first depending on which one you put in first in each section. That only costs $150 versus this at over $200. Plus you might need m12 charging as well.
I mostly charged my baterie at home and only carry the m18 mutltivolt rapid charger because i can charged m12 and m18 its nice for that. I would like to have more packout but my truck box ran out of space .
Milwaukee rapid charger charges one battery at a time. That's old technology, lagging behind the Dewalt DCB104 rapid charger, which charges all 4 batteries at the same time.
Just get a compact pack out box screw 2 rapids to the top with a splitter and you have storage for like 15 batts and basically the same charge potential, you get the charger free with larger tool purchase and the box is like $50
Yeah I was seeing that 4 battery complete charge in 40 minutes or something. Would you be able elaborate on that? If that’s true I might be switching to dewalt
@cody lorentz it depends on what size battery. From completely dead it's roughly 10 minutes per amp hour so four 5ah batteries takes about 50 minutes. It doesn't matter how many batteries you have on the charger, it's all the same.
Looks like a great upgraded tool from the previous 6 bay charger. However I think the system could have been made smarter to protect the batteries and some other small details. For one a hige missed opportunity is that the charger is not a power station. On this formfactor I think it is a missed opportunity to integrater this 6 bay charger to something smarter. Also I believe not all milwaukee batteries will fast charge, only thise batteries that have lightning boltbon the pack, so a 5 Ah will not fast charge by design (nor need to if I'm not mistaken). Also it is strange the usb charger only works when the charger is connected to mains only. I am also missing an integrated smart second bms in the charger to balance out better the oacks over time. Milwaukee pack cells tend to drift over time and lose cell balance despite the integrated circuitbboard in the oacks. Would be nice if we could somehow balance the packs once a month for better longterm pack health, with this 6 bay charger. Also whatbI would have liked to see is that the mains cord could be rolled up in the charger, like in corded vacumes, for a cleaner and more professional look. Current wrap around method is flimsy and cheap solution for such a priced charger. Lasly would have been nice if mikwaukee provided bay adapters so that we could also charge up 12 and 4 V redlithium milwaukee batteries. Then it would all be a nice package worth the price and investment. With other tool brands also providing power staions or solar generators, I think it is a missed opprtunity for milwaukee to make a better product. Curious to see if they will take on the challenge soon.
I would argue that I would want 2 bays at 6 amps. I want a battery to get charged so I can use it. It does nothing for me to have 6 batteries charging slowly wen I have two charging fast. But that is me.
@@WorkshopAddict I remember talking to a friend about that. We bet that each model would end up having a packout version. They’ll probably make a 6 bay M12 packout and then the 6 bay 3x3 packout. And then they’ll redo the models to include usb-c.
@@michaelgoodwin5162 Can you provide a model number because the only 3xM12 and 3xM18 charger I see isn't packout compatible. If you're talking about the (M18 & M12 Rapid Charge Station(48-59-1807)) I have it and it's not packout compatible.
What a waste of time and money Milwaukee! I'll keep my m18/m12 rapid charger thanks. Pretty hilarious I can rapid charge 4 DeWalt batteries at a time yet Milwaukee's still living in 2010 with this weak charger.
One per side is a joke. I have the older 6 bay rapid charger which does m12 on one side and m18 on the other. That does one battery per section (either the m12 or m18 on the other side), which means 3 batteries at once, where this only charges 2 at a time. That cost around $150 where this unit costs over $200.
@@WorkshopAddict Milwaukee should have added both for the mininal added cost. The 2357-20 is also a huge disappointment with only USB-A and being too heavy and big for what it does, with so much lost potential in terms of storage space. I bought mine on pre-order, but after several years of not being able to find a proper use for it, I'm finally selling it. I bought the 2356-20 (M12 version) and it's actually useful because it's smaller, and even comes with storage trays for screws and bits.
They could have implemented simultaneous charging of all batteries. By charging each battery at 5 amps (to charge a 5Ah battery in 1 hour), that would still only amount to approx. 5 amps drawn from a 120V pixie receptacle. Easy.
This is a waste. Why not make a couple m12 spots as well. This is a let down. It should've been similar to the 6 port charger that charges 3 at one time but charges m12 and m18. Im disappointed because now i gotta purchse this and tote a m12 charger the same time. When you think theyre going forward they take a step back
Happy holidays! Nice video as always, I plan on getting this.

The side slots are for holding a phone that is charging off the USB port.
That’s a good upgrade from the old one. I still prefer the hybrid charger with m12 and m18 since I use both
Ya I'm not sure why they didn't have one for that .. or at least make us a M12 packout one as well
Packout m12/m18 rapid is definitely needed

I'm curious if a multi-bay Super Charger is on the horizon? Although, it really only benefits three batteries.

Why the hell error light and waiting light are the same blinking red?

What would be better, 6 bays charging at 2 amps per port, or 2 bays out of 6 charging at 6 amps per port
I would argue that I would want 2 bays at 6 amps. I want a battery to get charged so I can use it. It does nothing for me to have 6 batteries charging slowly wen I have two charging fast. But that is me.
I was looking forward to buy this but as it can’t charge all at the same time it’s pointless
They need to make the 6 bay (3x M12 and 3x M18) charger into a packout version.
One has to assume that is coming as they already basically make that without the packout base.
@@WorkshopAddict I remember talking to a friend about that. We bet that each model would end up having a packout version. They’ll probably make a 6 bay M12 packout and then the 6 bay 3x3 packout. And then they’ll redo the models to include usb-c.
They do and it charges three at a time. I have it and like it. Surprised this only charges two. However, the version I have does not have a fan.

David, this is the first packout compatible charger they made. Michael was not understanding the conversation.

I am a 1 man show so most of the time I just throw a couple of batteries in the pack out box. The charger is huge.
That would be awesome if it was a power station as well
Its nice ! But would like to have one like this but supercharger hehe

@user-ld6wo4rv8h you are correct. Not sure what I was thinking
Sorry.

Major Fail* "A charger that large only charging one battery at a time?! Come On Man!"; Joe Biden
You are carrying your batteries anyway, just throw a regular size charger in your packout.
"Comm'on Man, Listen up!" Ha, it charges 2 at a time. LOL
I agree but atleast it's one on either side.
