Hi Jason My favorite 18year old is the Glen scotia, and I think my favorite 15year old by far better than the 18year Glen Scotia is the 15 yr old, just love both very much, I have a bottle of the glenallachie 18year old from a few years ago, and it's good whiskey for me, cheers Jason !!!
$194.99 for the GlenAllachie 18 here in SoCal and up to $599.95 for the 21 year old. This borders on insanity..!!! I'll keep enjoying my beautiful spectrum of 18 year olds... Invergordon, Chivas Regal, Aberlour and Tullamore DEW.
There was a moment in time when GA10 was the "must collect them all $75 BOMB". Thanks to lack of availability and the $95 price jump I stopped with 6. And, being that I am loving the old GA distillate of batch 2, the perpetual and predictable wine casking of the last few I just lost interest. It seems like the Billy Walker investment was in old stock as much as old stills and real estate. Is there an end to the old stock releases? Ancnoc 18 is such a nice dram. Here in NY the price jumped from $179 to $210. The Bruichladdich 18 is next to it at $195.
Jason, as a Glenallachie Fanboy I really appreciate your review. I find most of their 10 CS to be very enjoyable! The same with the 12 and 15. (I do enjoy the 12 a lot) A lesser appreciated inexpensive 18 is the Glen Moray 18! First fill bourbon no sherry 47 % NCF. Understated but a very nice Whisky. Thank you! Neal
What I've been noticing is that brands are asking for a 18yo what a 21yo should be. I take my hat to Ancnoc everyday now, their 24yo is the same price as that Glenallachie 18yo (!) Unbeatable in today's market.
Initially disappointed with the GA18 I left it on the shelf for the past 18months. It is now just starting to become a nice dram, similar happens to the 15 after some time. I am a sucker for 18 year old whisky but would I pay double for the GA18 again? No. I find Ancnoc or Tomatin a far better buy if I need some sherry influence. If I want to spend 140€ then I will buy Ancnoc 24 ;)

Ancnoc 18 is a fantastic whiskey. My favorite bottling from Glenallachie is the 10year old cask strength batch 6 bottling
nice

Is there an end to the old stock releases - maybe in about 10 years
Picked up an old bottle of the Glenallachie 18 in Dublin for 110 euro lately.
great

The less Billy Walker influence, the worst it is. the 25y for example is a disaster, I'll take the 15 over it any day.
agree

@@WhiskyJason1 Jason review when? ;) (haven’t checked the archives for that)
only in German - sorry!
Prices are crazy.
I like the old design and colors better.
Same here!

ancnoc 24 is so good
Blended scotch is not for me... No Chivas here, ever. The Highland Park 18 travel edition at 46% is jaw dropping btw.
interesting
And so we wait for complete BW distillate
Billy Walker for the win :-)
I find glenallachie overrated for the most part. You can tell it is basically blending stock re-racked in active wet casks.
basically yes
