fished the marina and also cannon beach both and both were a waste of time. Cannon beach has lots of fish in the hole but you can't fish it. have used live shrimp, live fish, dead shrimp and caught only crabs. seen a lot of undersized mangroves come out of the lagoon in back of the gift shop on cut bait. anyone have any tips on Fishing this area or anywhere nearby?
This is why I said that this place was nothing more than a bait stop. If you noticed, there are tons of mojarras and small crabs in the area. Don't get me wrong, It's an awesome park to hang out at and possibly a great night time fishing spot if you're camping over night. I've been told that the winter bite is pretty good out there but I'm not going to try it when I have several places closer to me that produce well. There are several bridges you can fish from if you head south on U.S.-1. With all this heat I doubt anyone will be staying long on top of a cement slab all day. If I'm not mistaken, you can try one of the bridges near Anne's Beach. Fish the pilings with a jig head and a live shrimp for some snapper. If you're looking for shade, head north on u.s.-1 and fish under the bridge at Gilberts resort. I've caught snapper, cuda and sharks from here during the day. Use cut bait like herring at this spot. I don't know what you're talking about. I just went fishing there with some friends, and we caught a 3 foot nurse shark on a fish head, and a ton of grunts and snappers in a period of two hours. We had a blast fishing there and it was super productive.
Really good place now.
I Have been there last year nice place to visit. The only thing I got was a big white/yellow grunt

Jordan Korgood. Thats good. When i was there it was pure crap. Just bait fish and a lot of harrassing.
