- This video shows how to determine the gain margin , phase margin, the gain cross over frequency and the phase cross over frequency from a given bode plot. The bode plot is already drawn, if you want to see how to draw a bode plot, browse for my other video. If you want to calculate them directly from formula, watch this : • Gain Margin and Phase ...
Bode plot has been haunting me since a long time. This was much needed. Thank you!
THANK YOU..sir ..most of the videos in youtube but they are not teach in engish. you are great .... i like your pencil .after a long gape i saw a this type(design) of pencil .
it was a clear explanation. it can easily understand by the students. i didnt understand what our lecturer said but now i got a clear view about gain and phase margins etc.really it helps us. Thank you sir thank u very much
Very clear explanations
Thank you sir

u r explanation is awesome sir i can understand easily thaankuuuuuuuu
Great video sir cleared all my doubts and bode plot now seems so easy
Thank u sir
😊
great Sir
it is really helpful for me to understand the Whole Bode plot
Thank you, this was the explanation I was waiting for. Great explanation. Carry on.
You're my best teacher
Thanks. I am glad it was helpful !
sir in phase crossover freq, in the previous video you took +30 +60 +180 as your values in phase axis and now it changed to -30 -60 -180, so which is the correct way?
180 or -180 both are same brother,,, this time sir mistakely read dash 180 to to minus 180.... so dont be confuse...love from india. you can msg me for further problems.
Thanks man!! You saved my control lab. Keep it up :)
Welcome :)
Please post an example on imaginary poles in root locus method
best video on this topic
AWESOME VIDEO...hv xam tmrw.hv watchd bode plot video n this one.thnk u sir.grt job....
Thankyou. Glad it helped :)
Mmm
Superbb explanation
Thanks a lot very helpful video
first thank you for help what is the distance in number ? for gain margin and phase margin?
thx
first thank you for help what is the distance in number ? for gain margin and phase margin?
thx
Nice video. Its going to make me pass tomorrow. But I didnt really understand your explanation for Rakesh Mandals question..
Glad it helped :) just search for the formula
U will find it
Its really Helpful
Sir the video is very clear except the one. How phase margin plot has changed nd how we get -180 when all the phase angles are in positive
Thanx buddy....u cleared my doubt
Thanks :) Glad it was helpful :)
if i have every angle positive n -180 degree z nt there then how can we determine phase crossover frequency
sir in the phase angles.. initially we didn't have negative phases.. to calculate phase crossover you said we need to draw a line from -180°? please clarify
very useful. Thanks. ps. that would be awesome to have it in better quality.
Welcome. Glad it was useful. Thankyou for suggesting. Will try to do better ones... :)
with out using graph can i find out phase margin and gain margin
sir its easy to understand the subject u explained
bt i confused why should we take -180 for the phase margin ? cant we have another value!!!
he not even reply, fucking idiot make us doubt
Amazing lecture
Thanks Sir
I am glad it was helpful. Thanks.
plz increase video quality your are explanation is vry gud
tq very much sir....it helps very much
how did you get that _180 because the previous video is not having plz? help in the morning i have exams
thank you.. help us a lot.
it was very helpful...
how could u join from --180° to phase angl plot.. b cz u take scale range frm 30 to 180 in ut previous video.
Greatly explained. Man, you should teach for a living. Hope you can upgrade your "material", from pen & paper to some sketch-pad. For now, have my like + comment + sub. :)
And for now, gogogo Nyquist plot! :D
in previous video u just taken 0 to 180 deg, but now angles are in negative.....would plzz...clear my boubt bro
Yes
Sir u have an amazing accent..it makes even the most dry concept interesting...thanx for the brilliant explanation 😊😀
Thanks a lot :) Glad it was helpful !
nice. very clear and accurate explanation. Thank you.
Sourabh Majumdar first thank you for help what is the distance in number ? for gain margin and phase margin?
thx
thank u n good explanation....
how to select wl,wh
need clear explanation
I learned a lot from u bro.... Tq
i am sorry for my previous comment...this helped me alot....
thanx a lot sir :) it's very easy nd helpful to understand....
Welcome :)
Chinmaya A.S.V first thank you for help what is the distance in number ? for gain margin and phase margin?
thx
isn't the frequency axis actually a log omega axis....?this means the frequency is 10 actually when you say it '1'?
is it like you always take positive intop for magnitude and phase from postivie from down?
How u find out the phase crossover freq. From before plot
if the maximum range of phase angle is below 180° and above -180° then how to draw the phase margin
thank you mate it's so helpful video
Thanks :)
good explanation
why are we taking 0 for gain over frequency and 180 for phase over frequency?
i didn't find any routh stability critireon part 2 and part 3 videos!
please send me the links
but you changed the phase angles on the right. confused. please help!
Thanks it was helpful
And our other videos were helpful too
Thank you. I am glad they have been helpful!
thank u so much sir for ur clear explanation
Welcome :) Glad it helped :)
thanks a lot. may God bless
Welcome and Thanks :)
1:45 for non unitary feedback you would not have drawn that line in 0 db, right?
is the phase crossover frequency and the phase margin frequency the same thing?
it is the same.
thx a lot sir its really helpful.......
Thanks it helped me alot
Welcome :) Glad it helped !
Tq sir tomorrow is my exam
I think there will be no use to refer my notes again
This video is enough
Very helpful, thank you
Glad it helped :) Thank you!
Sir pls explain how to find out the phase margin and gain cross over frequency
what if your phase plot is phase>0 ( doesnt go negative), do you use +180degrees to find phase cross over frequency?
I have the same problem except my mag plot dosent touch zero. Do i assume phase margin dosent exist?
+jetfish777 yes no phase margin
same doubt here
Thanks for posting these videos...
very helpful class video sir.
Thank you
M S Dinesh from india
Thankyou. Glad it was of use. :)
very useful thank u
tan q so much sir ,it is very useful
superb video
THankyou :)
Helped me, thanks.
If magnitude plot does not cross the 0 dB line but phase plot crosses the -180 deg point then can I calculate the gain margin. Because now I have phase cross over frequency and whether difference of gain at this frequency with 0dB will not be the gain margin??
shalini gupta first thank you for help what is the distance in number ? for gain margin and phase margin?
thx
toti to It is e^ epsilon, where epsilon is the dc gain of the bode plot as it tends to infinity.
Ronald 26 thank you but i still i cant find it ?
For Gain Margin, the distance is expressed in decibels, while for Phase Margin, it is expressed in degrees. It's just a matter of subtraction.
thanks a lot sir its help us a lot
Welcome :)
+Chinmaya A.S.V sir plz ans my qsn
Thanks a lot bro
Sir I want polar plot and nyquist plot can u plz... help me
sir if there is no -180 in the phase angles..means if we got the range from 30 to 180 then whats should the value of the angle from where we get the phase cross over frequency??? reply needed urgent
As much as poss try to make a substitution that gives u those values... Otherwise use the formula... Hope it helps :)
okk thanku sir :)
Chinmaya A.S.V which formula? can you tell me plz..
+Chinmaya A.S.V
for any value of w we cannot get fi -180
bcoz 180-tan inverse of something -tan inverse of something cannot result to -180
you too changed it
from previous video it was 30-180 scale but in this video the scale has changed but not the points..
thats not fair...
same doubt
phase cross frequency 180 is not exist for every graph plz explain with another example phase cross over frequency
sir ihave thevalues of phase angles from 30 deg. to 174 how i am get the valu of wpc
Very good, thanks a lot
H0ckeyCus first thank you for help what is the distance in number ? for gain margin and phase margin?
thx
very nice sir
but it will be better if video picture quality will be upgraded
I really don't want to be negative about this video but apart from the poor production quality there is also some vital information missing. That is whether the gain and phase margins are positive or negative. This is crucial information as it directly affects the conclusion about the desired performance of the closed loop system. For the Bode plot considered, the phase margin is positive but the gain margin is negative. Performance requirements dictate a sufficient level of both positive gain and phase margins.
Thanks for the feedback. Will do better ones later.
What if we don't get 180° in phase angles
Bro in previous video phase angles r in positive now in this video it is negative.explain bro
i have a doubt y should we drawn from -180 in phase plot for finding gain crossover frequency
its for phase crossover frequency
what happens if I have 57 degrees highest and -88 degree lowest.. which is my phase origin??
Thanks for clearing my dought
i liked it. helpful. But if possible try to improve the video quality. Thanks a lot
Thanks :) Will look into it :)
sir how could u join from -180° to phase angl plot.. b cz the scal range fro +ve 30 to +ve 180
How do you find phase crossover frequency when you dont have -180 just as in your other video explaining how to draw a bode plot?
same doubt bro
if u know tell me
if there is no phase cross over frequency at -180 then your gain margin is infinite :).
we can use the formulas instead of finding those values from bode plot
Thanks doctor
Hope it was helpful :) Thank you!!
thank you. it really helped
you answered my question easily!
clear cut explanation
Thank you... Hope it was helpful :)
Thank you so much
Tushar Bhoyar first thank you for help what is the distance in number ? for gain margin and phase margin?
thx
clgla sonnatu oru mannum purila. nee sonnathu purinjithu da dai massssu daw
doubt at phase cross over frequency. You changed 180 to negative 180?
yeah...i have the same doubt....
yes..same here..
exactly...same doubt
i can make out that u guys are 3rd yr students and u have ur semester exams... isn't it..!?😂
Tommorow is my exam :-(
