You guys knocked it out of the park with this, and as a content creator myself, I know how annoying editing is, so I know it's a pita to make these videos. Hats off to you guys!
Never seen one of those run that smooth, all of vids of that shotgun that I've seen in the past, the shooters had nothing but feed problems. Either you got lucky and got a decent one or they've solved a lot of the problems since it first came out.
i have owned a uts-15 for at least 5 years now and i like it. the obvious comparison is the ksg-12 with the mag tubes underneath the barrel. both can have the same problem of short shucking the slide but i like how the uts clearing of the action is. all you need to do is open the cover, which is the chest rest, to get to the action to clear it. i have done many a 15 round dump of quail load for fun because they were pretty cheap back then. i have not done any real hunting with it besides simply taking care of pests. i managed to get the barrel extension and the breach choke for free due to an error by the gun shop where i ordered it then had it delivered to a local shop in order to get it. the extra 7.5" does help with the spread of the shot but in the end it is still a smooth barrel. rifled slugs are fairly accurate but that was over 5 years ago and i dont really remember because i had so few rounds due to none of my shops having them because it was hunting season back then when i was looking for them. you are right that loading and reloading are fairly slow, even to a trained hand with it. however, you also nailed it with if you have to reload after the 15 shells then you done fucked up or in a very fucked up situation. although she be ugly, she will smack you with 12 gauge iron across the head. also, the barrel can use beretta threaded chokes.
I actually like the looks of the weapon. Imagine a autoloader in the same configuration. Hickok says if you still need more than the capacity of the shotgun to finish the task at hand then maybe you should consider a belt-fed. LOL! My 1100, 8rd tube mag works well enough, but this shotgun is interesting.
That little lever behind the rail on top, can shift left or right, and will set the shotgun to one tube or the other. Center (where it's positioned for this video), will alternate. So, it doesn't have to alternate. The UTS-15 was designed with mixed loads in mind and they had eyes on military contracts for exactly that. The idea for example was they could run breaching rounds in one tube, then in an instant, switch to the other tube for a potential combat load. Or, with counter-terrorism, one tube could be less lethal while the other was lethal. This is actually the reason the Australian TRT uses the Kel-tec KSG-12. They looked at the UTS-15 and found it too easy to accidentally hit that lever and switch from less lethal to lethal, while the KSG's system requires some force to switch it. In the same trials they looked into the SRM Arms M1216, but rejected it for similar reasons to the UTS-15.
For home defense you could have bird shot in one and a heavier load in the other. If you ever had to use it you could prove you tried less than lethal methods to deter the criminals and it did not work so you switched to the heavier load.
Ive had a gen 4 for a year, works great as long as you dont short shuck it, hundreds of rounds of slugs and buckshot through it, only time it ever jammed it was operator error, great fun gun
I bought one about 10 years ago and had nothing but problems with it cycling. I even sent it back to UTAS, who basically sat on it for six months, sent it back with a note saying it cycles fine. Failures to fire, failures to feed, failures to eject....I guess I ran 12-15 different loads through it trying to see what it liked. It liked nothing. It's been sitting in the back of my shotgun safe for years. It's so bad, I won't even sell it. I only have three guns like that. The UTAS, a NAA .22 LR/ .22 Mag revolver and a Ruger LCP (also sent back to the factory with similar results). I'd never sell them they're so bad. I guess if I only have three guns that bad, I shouldn't complain. CHEERS!

Incredibly intuitive and reliable
I had a Gen 4 I got for $700 in Canada, absolutely had a blast with it. Mine ran well, and the geometry of it fit me like a glove. In terms of a goofy fun tactical shotgun, it tops the list for me, I'd like another one again some day.

Have had one for a while now. I've noticed all of my problems, and most of others, were when we had the shotguns set at double feed. I always had to keep mine set to feed from either side. If they had simply placed a permanent bar there making it double load to single feed.... maybe that would have fixed it?
Can you PLEASE review the Kel-Tec KSG-410. I have only seen a few reviews and only by small sites (and poorly done). I think the 410 is a great round and I am hoping the KSG-410 fixes a lot of problems the regular KSG had (excessive recoil, harder to charge, ejecting into your wrist). It is supposed to be light and cheap.
I purchased one and have found it not worth the fun it provided. If I do not maintain a slight forward push when the trigger is pulled, the firing pin may not detonate the shell as the pin is slightly shorter that it should be, or the spring is not strong enough. Also, a small piece of polymer broke off inside but it has not affected the functionality yet. Sometimes, when you eject and the new shell is selected, it can grab two and jam. Either way it is quirky and it takes some practice to fire all 15 shells without errors.
