Rubber Ball was Bobby Vee's 5th single. Released in late 1960, it was his only Australian single to top the charts. No. 1 Australia, No. 4 UK, No. 6 US. All credit goes to Bobby Vee.
Huge hit in our town, Tiger. He had so many great songs and was always a favorite of mine. Thank you so much for this very clean mix! Loved It! Take care. Jim
Saw him perform this one live at Harrogate in 1989. Haha - he seemed a bit embarrassed about singing this song and insisted we all join in with the "bouncy-bouncies". ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks Victor!! I presume your Harrogate is a decent size town - our Harrogate is just down the road & has less than 100 people. No shops - just a tennis court!!!! Tiger.
Thanks Pete!! This is based on the LP mix - with a bit of tweaking. I've widened it a tad, shifted the bass from the left to more in the centre, & given the bottom end a bit of sparkle. Cheers Tiger.
Thanks Jane & Brian!! Some might say this is bit of a corny song, but i like a lot of these songs from the turn of that decade. Especially the ones that sound good in stereo (or can be made to sound good). Cheers Tiger.
At least Bobby Gibbons' guitar solo is more prominent on this upload than on the awful remix that appeared on his 1990s Legendary Masters CD where it was almost totally buried.
This, and THE NIGHT HAS A THOUSAND EYES, are my all-time favorites from Mr. Vee!
Rest in Peace Robert Thomas Velline AKA Bobby Vee 1943-2016.

The Great Mr Vee....Top Remix Tiger!

Too bad we lost Bobby a few years ago due to Alzheimers. He had so many hits, but flew under the radar.

It is indeed a decent sized town, Tiger .... and a very upmarket one, too. An expensive place to shop or live.

Great job, Tiger. Loud and wide. EDB
Thanks Ed! I didn't really like the official stereo mix - so i messed with it a bit! Cheers Tiger.
Nice job Tiger. sounds very much like the original LP mix, which I like.
