- A duck hunting trip to the midwest wouldn't be complete without getting to spend a morning hunting a farm pond, also known as a tank in Oklahoma and Texas. I was lucky enough to find one in the middle of nowhere that was absolutely loaded and after getting the go ahead from the farmer, we headed out there in hopes of getting on a mixed bag shoot. Our morning got off to a hectic start after we showed up to a completely frozen pond, but after opening up an ice hole the action started off with big flocks of ducks decoying in perfectly. A strong north wind had the migration in action as well and we were able to pick off a couple unexpected species to round off the morning. Hope you enjoy!

I have a retriever and duck hunt as well. What you would not understand since you probably do not have a hunting dog is how much the dogs genuinely LOVE what they do.@@ChrisSmith-sp8li
Great pond hunt. Make those birds come in. Call they wanted in. I always camo my face on every hunt. My mentor 30 years ago taught me that. It works. Yo u guys did good though. Thanks for sharing.

Were y’all able to find any of the birds that sailed?
Unfortunately we didn't. Two of the three were able to get back up with the flock and we didn't have a great mark on the one Chase went looking for
Heck of a poke on that goose. Was it as high as it looked, or was that just the GoPro effect?
It was a little tall but the GoPro also makes it look further than it was. I'd say it was between 35-40 yardss
@@HokeOutdoors Nice. The GoPro makes it look like it is 65-70. It's always difficult to tell ranges with the wide angle lens.

Anyone else notice the huge chem trails in this video. When have you ever seen clouds in straight lines like that? Never.
They are called stratus clouds
Chen trails and that isn’t shit come to Missouri or Arkansas looks like they are drawing grids in the sky
The important thing is how you put the sun in front of you while shooting? Just amateurs, not professionals😅

That is INCREDIBLY dangerous, un-ethical, and just STUPID to be running a dog in ice like that, you are LUCKY he is still alive!!!
Lol let's cool the jets a little bit, to say he's lucky to be alive is just ludicrous. If you wouldn't have hunted your dog in those conditions that's all good but Wade wasn't in any danger during this hunt. If watching a retriever do what it loves in tough conditions bothers you, just don't watch.
@@HokeOutdoors I have handled retriever's for years, you are too in experienced to understand the danger, obviously, what would you have done if he had gone under that ice in water that was obviously over your head and ice you could not get through? You have no idea what you are talking about, neither does the dog's owner.
And "tough conditions" are not conditions that endanger the dogs life.
