- The 2019 Nationals were truly a special team. With a core of players that were mostly homegrown such as Stephen Strasburg, Anthony Rendon, and Juan Soto, supplemented by some key free agent signings and trades, the Nationals overcame the odds and made baseball history. Immediately after, they became the basement dwellers of the NL East. We'll look at how the contributors of this 2019 roster were obtained and how quickly the Nationals entered rebuild mode after winning it all.
