  • This puzzle box is different from every puzzle box I reviewed before! The manufacturer calls it an "Escape room in a box". That's what it is. If you will be successful or fail is only depending on your logical thinking skill. No luck or randomness is required to free the trapped animal inside!

A possible improvement: a QR-code outside the box starts the timer, the cat's QR-code stops it.

I think the wall of fame should just say: "Not all of these self-reported times are accurate to reality. It's just a bit of fun".
And then if they want, *maybe* mention how it's about the experience more than anything (don't want people getting irrationally down on themselves). Mr. Puzzle was taking his time, for instance.

Just want to let you know that the address format produced by your website/shopping software does not produce the correct address format for the US. He was making an analogy on the half lives of radioactive isotopes, wherein at a certain point they are half-decayed and half-not-decayed. Ergo, the cat while in the box exists in both life and death until you open the box to prove one or the other.

What a cool puzzle! It really gives the feel of the sort of thing you come across in escape rooms.

Very nice idea. Not only excellent entertainment in itself, but good to watch as a video. Thanks again, Mr Puzzle!
Room escapes played on a tablet are fun (I love Kotorinosu's multi-layered super-sneaky apps) but being able to 'feel' your way along the clue trail looks so much more satisfying.
I get the impression that the manufacturer had as much fun putting this kitty-box together as Mr Puzzle did taking it apart. :-)

Mr. Puzzle, Im not sure if you are into Video games. But I want to recommend you playing “The Room” on steam/mobile and see how it is. It’s basically a collaborative puzzle box in 1 place. Super fun and super intresting.

Not sure all the clues were logical progressions. That part was confusing, so I'm not sure I would appreciate the solution or not. Definitely a different style puzzle, and it's very intricate and interesting to look at.

There seems to magnet on the back of that piece, there could be another compartment.

Don't you think the entire box can be bypassed by decoding the last lock? The sliders can move freely from the beginning. The top lock can be pulled from the beginning to put pressure on it. Should be possible to "feel" the solution.

Of course it's possible, but I guess that way it's just not funny :P

Wouldnt it be possible to use lockpicking principles to just feel for the gates on the combination sliders by simply putting lifting tension on the final 'key' and feeling for the click on each slider. I could do that in less than 30 seconds!

Mr. Puzzle even said this was possible but he chose not to pick the lock because it wouldn't be in the spirit of the game.

Just a note: Schödingers Cat is not a real experiment, it is just a thought experiment what quantum theory would mean on a macroscopic level. It is not possible currently to bring those effects up to such a level. The researchers working on quantum computers try to entangle a few bits, making all the atoms of a cat depend on the unknown state of a single atom is far beyond that and probably physically impossible. Schrödinger wanted to demonstrate with that Example that there are very strange consequences of that theory, which rises the question of whether there is some physical limit that prevents this from happening on a macroscopic level.

Mr Puzzle: you probably already figured out the next clue but I just did
Me: so...you begin at the start word?
