Enjoyed the heck out of this, Eric, trip back in time for me when I was into CB wayy back. My first CB's had 23 channels and put out 5 watts. I bought a new unit recently and am getting back into the hobby. I live in a rural area now and not much radio traffic except for some trucker talk from the local highways. A paper mill is nearby and a lot of wood hauling around here. I learned a couple of terms, new to me, from your video in reference to the linears; 'burner' and 'foot warmer'. I remember a couple from years back, when someone was putting out a strong signal they might hear "man, you're walkin' the dog", and if a fellow asked how well he was getting out the guy might reply 'you're putting about 6 pounds me', his meter reading. Thanks for the Sunday morning wake-up, enjoyed it!

I have a question for anybody out there. I got into CB’s in the 70’s and something I remember is that you could get a laminated 10 code cheat sheet form Radio Shack and keep it on you cars visor for quick reference or until you memorized all that was on it. Mine was a yellowish color or maybe tan, it’s been a long time. Anyway I sure would like to have it now. So here’s my question. Does anyone have a picture of what I’m talking about? Or where I can get one? Thanks.

I've caught a couple of my other favorite TH-camrs using CB slang. And their channels have nothing to do with CB or anything electronics related. One signs off at the end of every video with " Have a great day today and a better day tomorrow" I told him I've never heard that except on CB and he said he's an old CBer from the 60s and 70s. Another one said "Negatory" on a video the other day.
It's a start. It'll work on the road. Learn how it works, then upgrade everything. Talking skip is alot of fun. If that happens you'll be hooked and spend lots of money chasing that lol. Still better than drugs 😂

Breaker breaker ,anybody copy☺
Love it!
You never said what Breaker means
I've caught a couple of my other favorite TH-camrs using CB slang. And their channels have nothing to do with CB or anything electronics related. One signs off at the end of every video with " Have a great day today and a better day tomorrow" I told him I've never heard that except on CB and he said he's an old CBer from the 60s and 70s. Another one said "Negatory" on a video the other day.
just getting into CB for the first time. i bought a K30 antenna and a cheap Uniden PRO505XL. is this a good set up?
It's a start. It'll work on the road. Learn how it works, then upgrade everything. Talking skip is alot of fun. If that happens you'll be hooked and spend lots of money chasing that lol. Still better than drugs 😂
Here's my tip, don't be afraid to call out on the channels. There's usually people on. All you gotta do is find them
Hey I need help with my uniden 980 cannot talk or cal
Hey, that's an old school Army PT T-shirt. 1992-95 25th ID, 95-96 101st 11B

Dad got me into radios about a year ago, so I guess I’m pretty far in the mud per say
I can't believe you left out 10 200 or I gotta drop a deuce at the pickle park
LOT LIZZARD!
10-9 that's 👍 ✔ true
Awesome
What’s 20 mean
u shake the trees i’ll rake the leaves😂
Out there go.
The 10 codes are used by fire departments across the United States.
About to walk the dog on all them mud ducks.
Where I live CB is 99% dead. It's all GMRS now, even more popular than ham radio. Nobody should have to study and take a test just so that they can talk on a radio.
🤣, excuse me would you like to talk on the CB radio 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 JK
Just a heads up. Reading your ten code sheet just curious. Thought I’d mention in 2023 “good buddy” is no longer what it used to be. Just saying
Ah, thanks for the tip!
"Good Buddy," meaning "good friend" in the 1960s, had been corrupted into something unsavory by the mid-1970s. I learned this firsthand, back then. 😉
Most of us don’t use even half of that stuff, mud duck…
Mud duck is something special
@@FarpointFarms 4-10! (Intentional) and triple six on the top side of Spokane, wa just got down… bump bump
Driver that radio is wall to wall and tree top tall, come on!!!!!!
Yes indeed
10-20 is current location. Not just home. It's where you are at the moment. You know that.
Yeah... Your home location would be your "home 20"...
what is a "Plain white rapper"
A "plain white wrapper" as in wrapping paper, is a white unmarked police car. Nothin to do with music!
Cars are still referred to as four wheelers my truck drivers.

Diesel bear - DOT law enforcement
good one- the last big trip I took, there was a ton of them
@@FarpointFarms I used to be one in WV and a few times we had to cross a state border. Nothing attracts a drivers attention than a WV diesel bear in the wrong state lol
Some of these codes are wrong. In different places, they used different versions of these codes.
My favorite has always been 10-0, which is kind of the same as FNG, just worse.
well there is not a lot happening in the uk . on ssb . will have to move to the states ... keep up the good work.
"Bye bye bye".
That is a good one
