      I know. Flashing back to my 13yo self in Massachusetts. This is an insane nostalgia hit. What a time for baseball, Griffey was such a privilage to watch.

    I like watching old videos of griffey Jr, taking over the MLB. He was magnificent at batting and at the field.

      I'm not much of a baseball fan, but the few times I saw him swing the bat, it looked marvelous. And he looked good while doing it 😏 lol

    53:30...that HR ball by McGwire landed on the rooftop across the street from Fenway. WOW.

    I wasn’t even born yet when this happened so it was incredible, I love to watch baseball from before my time. I hope they do another all star weekend in Boston 🙏🏼

    They interview griffey first round and talk about Mark Mcgwire? Then goes hr at every part of fenway that's griffey's answer legendary

    So many incredible memories from 98-04. Being a 20 something from Boston during this time was an absolute dream. I'll never forget this AS weekend or whatever you want to call it. From McGwire hitting out on the pike to Pedro striking out 5 of 6 of the best ever. And freaking Nomar!!!! What a time to be alive

      Pedro was the best pitcher of the MLB in those years.

    I remember this one only 8 yrs old and my grandpa told me to turn the TV off because it got late and of course I just turned the volume down so I can see the hometown kid Griffey Jr put on for my Cincy Reds 💯💪🏿

    Junior turned the big 50 a few months ago , hard to believe..... He would've hit 700 homers had he not been injured often with the Reds and 1995 with the Mariners. Still had 3 or 4 great years with Cincinnati.

    • @arcadeclassics7911
      @arcadeclassics7911 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Griffy would have been the home run king instead of Cheater Bonds. If he wasn't injured.

    I’m so glad I got to grow up in this era…the late 90s were so great for all entertainment. Say what you want about this era but baseball was never more fun to watch from about ‘98 to about ‘04. Bonds, Griffey, Sosa, Big Mac and so many more. The Home Run Derby was always so hype 💯💯💯💪🏻 Chris Berman on the mic was always amazing too 🤙🏻

    All the people condemning Mcgwire and Sosa now. We all knew they were juicing. WE DID NOT CARE. It was so fun to watch. Easy to act so self righteous now. But I maintain Mark Mcgwire is the greatest home run hitter of all time.
    Side note at 1:27:00 you can hear the ball scream as Jr. spanked it's ass 😂

  • @thickerconstrictor9037

    Bagpipes!!! He may have been a dbag in his personal life but he sure was fun to watch on the field. The sound of his batting gloves grinding, his insane wide stance squatting down more than I've ever seen another hitter. He just took massive cuts. Definitely one of the steroid guys also but that doesn't bother me at all. Steroids gave us the absolute best baseball we've ever seen and I miss them and I miss bags
