one time there was a bakery rack shelf suddenly on my driveway. we just left it there for a few days. then it disappeared. the neighbors copped to having taken it. “nobody’s using it so we can just take it, right?” they said to me, smiling. it made me angry that they took it for some reason. like, a weird chef had dropped it on OUR driveway, and YOU took it???
