LOVING these arcade reviews. There was a lot going on in the arcade back then, and some of us weren't in a position to get to a decent arcade even once a month, so there's a lot to miss out on. But, with the rise of retro gaming, and you as our trusty guide, we're free to enjoy these classics, again or for the first time.
This channel is a blessing! Every week I look forward to these videos.

First off, yours is my favorite channel on TH-cam. Thank you for it. Second, these arcade videos are really cool. I didn't get to go to arcades as a kid so I'm seeing a lot of these for the first time and it is a trip. You rock!

Lol I was the opposite. I'm not into arcade fighters or shooters, so this would have at least piqued my attention, had I seen it, and had I had quarters (quarters were for laundry). I recognize it seems shooters, but thank goodness it wasnt like 1943 or something. Too many military shooters at any arcade I saw

This would've been great if it was ported back then. Wonder why it was never ported. Think it would've looked/played well enough on Gen/SNES.

Looks like an amazing game. Never heard of it. The combination of top-down running and gunning and platforming is very unique.

Dude, I really enjoy your videos and your coverage of lesser-known video games has truly been informative and insightful.
Here’s a suggestion and you don’t have to do this. I know you usually cover Genesis, GBA and arcade games on Thursdays, but if you want to add diversity on your channel, why don’t you also cover games from other consoles like Sega CD, NeoGeo, TG-16 and even the 32X. There’s a ton of interesting games (both good and bad) on those systems. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

Great opening discussion on the way arcades were viewed during the 90s. I started going to them when I was about 5 (so roughly 88/89), while my parents were bowling they would load me up with quarters and I would be mesmerized for hours. What I distinctly recall is the pre Street Fighter 2 arcade had a ton of variety and while stuff like Outrun or Operation Wolf was a big draw the back bone of scene was stuff like this and beat'em ups. Love how lately you've been giving the spotlight to some of the forgotten yet interesting titles that remained exclusive to arcades.
Wow. This game looks eerily similar to Twinkle Tale- so much so that it's hard to believe that Twinkle Tale didn't rip it off.

I spent a lot of time in arcades growing up (born in 89') and I have absolutely no memory of there ever being platforming style arcade games. We only had the stereotypical arcade games that you described. I would have been all over these when I was young.
I own the arcade board of this game. It was insanely difficult to find, but this game is a true gem!!! Must play even if you have to emulate it

I played this on MAME a few months ago and loved its trippyness and creative bosses. Would have loved to see this on a Saturn collection.

When you think obscure in the arcades you gotta think Kaneko they put out some of the most interesting stuff like this, B. Rap Boys, Air Buster, Cyvern and so much more
This is a great game. I even made custom bezel art for it that I am particularly proud of so I can look at it while playing.

If you liked this, Purikura Daisakusen on the Saturn may be worth a look. It's got a similar vibe, but with improved isometric view graphics and a pet raising play mechanic.

If you started up an "all reviews" playlist #2, that would at least make the problem stop getting worse. Breaking them up into 3 or 4 playlists would be even better!

Yesterday I had the chance to try this game with my father on a Pandora Box DX. It was great fun, although the first boss is a credit sink. Really, how could they make the FIRST boss so hard?

Didn't know about this one. Willow and 3 wonders are great, and if you like them you should do the Little Nemo arcade game. Much like Willow, it's far superior to the NES version.

Cabal is a trackball game.
Almost. The first revisions had a trackball. Later ones had a joystick installed.
Mem Mem not almost. It’s a trackball game, designed with a trackball in mind. The later joystick rev was to make it easier to kit for arcade owners. Either way, it’s not a light gun game.
