슈퍼스타K1에서 준우승을 차지하며 전국민에게 깊은 감동을 남겼던 조문근이 원조 오디션스타에서 확실한 조문근만의 색깔을 찾아 '조문근밴드'로 돌아왔다.
조문근은 공백기간에도 꾸준히 공연과 버스킹공연을 통해 자신만의 색깔을 찾고 실력을 업그레이드 시키며 버스킹 대표 실력파뮤지션으로 성장했다.
'조문근밴드'는 기타, 드럼, 건반, 베이스, 보컬로 조문근을 포함 총 5명으로 구성되어있으며 밴드를 구성하기 위해 조문근이 직접 거리의 숨은 고수를 찾아 발굴하는 등 조문근의 적극적인 주도하에 결성됐다.
조문근밴드로 처음 발표하는 디지털싱글곡 '말 좀 해봐'는 그루브한 어쿠스틱사운드에 조문근의 감각적인 바운스가 돋보이는 곡으로 전주에 잔잔하게 시작하는 통기타 선율이 포인트이다. 밴드만이 들려줄 수 있는 풍부하고 화려한 사운드와 조문근의 와일드 가창 보컬이 만나 거친 에너지가 느껴지며 같은 소속사 MIB에 멤버 '영크림'과 함께 조문근이 직접 작사 작곡한 곡으로 싱어송라이터 조문근의 면모를 발휘했다.
