Dear Uncle Murray... I have been a very good boy this year and if you wanted to get this pen for me now as an early Christmas gift, I promise to be a good boy for the rest of the year too.
Gorgeous is the only way to describe the pen. The nib is eeally nice with the bounce. Now if they made a similar pen for the plebians, i would jump to get one.
While I deeply appreciate your terrible puns about my weenie, I'd much rather hear how the nib compares to the standard 18k Expert nib, as it's probably what was being used as a base for the pen. Because if it wasn't, we should probably expect a whole new model soon enough.
I am the customer which he speaks of. I just got a momment to write multiple pages. All I can say is this nib couldn't be further away from that pen. Which is by no means a poor writer. But it's on a completely different level. It's not just the design, but it feels like a custom tuned nib from a nib miester. It's a lovely writer.
@johnrus7661 Ah...well, it should. What I meant is the physical dimensions. It looks like an Exception nib with a modified section, though if it's not, that would call for a "cheapened" standard line model, since...well, you can't just manufacture 600 nibs and call it a day.
@pail.crimea It's similar, but not identical. And more importantly performs on another level. But all that being said, you are not paying for this pen just for the writing experience. They could make a simpler version for less, that's no mystery. You pay a lot for the looks, the exclusivity, the prestige. And of course the writing is exquisite to match. I'm sure many thousand dollars offerings by other brands could perform to a similar level.
@pail.crimea All that being said, it takes the right buyer for this pen. Its very expensive, you pay a premium for it. But when compared to other premium $1500/$2000 options. I still think it holds its own without the help of being exclusive. Like the Urushi pens, I still think they are worth the money. Totally different and simpler style. But you get a very fancy pen, different vibes of course, for similar money. Not even counting the fact there is only 400 made. So with that, it's not a terrible value considering the high end pen market.

What a beautiful pen and presentation, the box is just like a high end watch box, very impressive.
Couldn't agree more!
When I saw the price my credit card screamed!
That looks like a lucious pen! Wow! I may never see or touch one, but it is fun to know such pens exist.
The joy $1500+ can bring!
More than that when you include 21% VAT, shipping and import fees.
Around $2000 all said and done.
How utterly charming sir!

Hehe, that customer would be me.😁
Thank you Doug for the pen! I might just have to do my own little video on it as well. We shall see.
Please do! I can't wait to hear what you think about that amazing pen!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
May this work of savoir-faire inspire the buyer to continue celebrating savoir-vivre! 💐
I hope so!
Haha, indeed! I'm just waiting as patiently as I can. It's due to arrive here on the 15th.
What a nice piece!
It really is!
Lovely pen, but the price!!! Double-extra-super-surcharge-premium, anybody?
Fair enough!
