Thank you for this lesson in life and The Night Life. I am a bass player and I do occasionally Play Key board or guitar. I am kind of an old timer and I heard NightLIfe, for the first time in 1963 at The Spanish Village, a road house, which at the time was on the outskirts of Madison, Wisconsin. I would have been 16 or 17 then, a junior in high school. I was in a rock band and the drummer's father owned the Spanish Village. The tune, "Night Life" stuck with me and it recently popped into my head again. I listened to the original recording right here on TH-cam. I then thought hey, there have to be charts for this tune, so I looked up a few and played through them on my key borad. The chord charts for piano and guitar were not what I was hearing on the recording and I learned a long time ago to always trust my ears. Because of the way the "Crazy", algorithms on TH-cam work, your very interesting video popped up. I will play around with your far more ear friendly chords right now. Thanks for sharing!

That song is one of my faves of all time, because, I'm a pedal steel player, and the great Buddy Emmons played the intro that made that song a hit. RIP The Big E!

Really great lesson and it's fun to play a jazzy progression that's really hip and not square and boring sounding.
I always heard that Willy's Stardust album is a good gateway into Jazz. Bring on the part 2 video!

Haha!!!! I enjoyed every second of thIs video! Just an incredible level of guitar knowledge. I usually simplify a guitar piece that has 65 chords and fake an arrangement down to 42 chords and the average person can't even tell. Haha!! Now how do I get one of those Chords & Coffee mugs? 😢
