I’m surprised you were pointed towards the 509’s, more of a bagger cam. Personally, I think you would have loved the 510’s on a lighter bike and those pipes with the standard spiral V&H baffles would shine. On the breather lines, you can even go to O’reillys, spend $7 and run a single hose for each breather, instead of using a “T” for the 2 into 1, I noticed a significant difference in breathing, I’m also carb’d. No filter just each hose ran under the frame. It’s a beautiful bike man and if you go 95”, look into a matched Wood TW-6 build, reliable 100/100 + ripper! I got just over 100/100 on a 95” with the 510 cam on my first build, ran 💪🏻.
I switched pipes to Basani 2-1.. Bike is tuned to run from 2-5k rpm.. more low and mid power than 510s with less twisting.. Im not a racer, but like to pass quickly..Ive pulled several new 114s with my new setup. Im happy with it.😁
love those pipes, mine its a 2005 fxdl carburated and some long pipes, i hope to get some big radius sooon... have a great week

@@FreeSwimmer Right on man! 509 is a great cam.
Good sounding bike! Great to hear that the 158's worked out well for you on the low & mid range power bump. 👍
