From the looks and configuration I seem to have the exact same splitter. Unfortunately I'm the second owner and missed out on all the great years it had splitting wood. I've had it since the end of Feb. '23. My luck, it started having issues with the Return in early Nov. Would not lock in the auto return Detent. It got worse and at times would not press back to return the Piston at all and started loosing Fluid at the Detent housing.*It had come lose and lost 1 of the Allen Bolts. After several Repair attempts, I realized the Detent Ring is worn out and is causing it to hang the 4 balls in the Neutral position. I took out the Detent spring and balls and reassembled it back with No Auto-return capability for now to finish my '23 Splitting project ahead of bad weather. *Note - this Splitter has already done at last 10 cords for me and has split several hundred cods in its lifetime. I will be ordering a replacement Control Valve after the first of the year, change it out and do a full service in preparation for next year. I've already got about 8 Cords of Black Walnut cut into rounds and stacked, waiting to be split.
We’ve had ours 20 years had to replace engine 2 yrs back new engine is 2 more hp, lovejoy has been replaced and hydraulic fluid and filter been changed out once. That’s the only maintenance we’ve done to it. This splitter is a beast!!!
Have the same splitter, the tray looks PERFECT. Only thing mine has received in the last decade is a new tube in the tire. Gas does leak into the engine, I just make sure to run it dry.
Same splitter and age more or less. Only thing I’ve ever done to it beside fluid changes is replace the seals in the cylinder. And it’s lived a very rough life, never stored indoors
I bought the same model, used, 5 years ago. I don't know how old it is. I split 3 cords every year. No problems with it. Best $400 I ever spent.
Wow, you got a great deal on that one! Thank you for watching!

I have the same splitter. It's 18 yrs old and I split about 3 or 4 cords a year. Never had a problem, only changed fluids.
