  • So...Wonder how to hang a Hammock without any trees or good anchor points while on a hike or motorcycle trip?
This video will show how easy it is to use a hammock between two Tensa Trekking Treez; today was my first attempt to hang between two hiking staffs.
These Tensa Trekking Treez weigh next to nothing to pack n carry compared to other options. The volume they occupy packed is minimal, and these reasons are why I opted to buy them.
They also serve a Dual purpose for a proper hike, of course.
*Note - I was a bonehead when doing this video. the foot of poles SHOULD be leaning towards the hammock, not away. However, they still function as shown.

You got the feedback about pole angle. I'm surprised it held as much as it did with the poles as shown! With very steep outward leans on the poles, you can get the anchor tension to surprisingly low levels, often necessary in very loose ground. Note that when tensioning the UCRs, you can loop the orange tails around the poles at the hubs, then pull straight back toward the anchor for 2:1 mechanical advantage as you milk the buries (mmm berry milk!). Then it's best to tension up those alloy tensioners on the black tails to eliminate prospect of slippage of constrictor, say if somebody or critter trips over a tensioned guyline as you sleep: the vibration alone can shake a constrictor loose.

Did you know the poles should.... just taking the urine, cobber. 😁Nice set up. I'm curious how much are the poles and where do i get them? I'll try Amazon, hopefully they hold a fatman. Thanks for doing this video.

Bottom of poles should angle towards the hammock.

      Yes, they should be.

That they still work is a testament to the utility of these things.

I ended up using them in Wyoming in the middle of backcountry WITH ZERO trees around, and they worked wonderfully!!
I added a short video of the actually experience...the Tensa poles endured the wind from the rains also.

poles are leaning the other way, too much stress on the guy lines. :) should be about 75-80 degrees leaning towards the guy lines. :)

Yes, this was already addressed in the previous comment and to be updated soon
It was an oversight. The other video I did with one tree had the pole correct.
      Thanks
