My favorite part was having my son play younger me in the film! Something we will cherish. 😊
I KNEW there was some striking resemblance between the younger and older characters! I commented like several months ago from another account stating how good the young/old characters resemble each other, and now we know the secret ^_^
It's a big, beautiful job! The light, the locations, the game is at the highest level! thanks!!!!
Michael, thank you so much for this.
I'm impressed by the quality. I kept expecting a short story, but you made it a decent length.
By the time 17 minutes was over I had laughed, I had cried, I had sat on the edge of my seat, carving claw marks into its arm rests and warmly sobbed with admiration. It felt like I had just watched a 2 and a half hour movie.
I want to nominate this for "best movie to watch stoned" award.

You said everything I was going to say almost to the word. There's nothing else to be said...
Yeeeah, This is Madea of Western Short Movies. The potential is astronomical.
same here, i second this! :D great story man! and stoned too :D
That was a great story. We need more of that.
Need more of everything these guys do. Brilliant work.
Excellent. Keep makin' magic, Rawlins!
You too my friend!
Ditto
Thanks for the link Santee it was a amazing story!!!
@@AdaM48state You're welcome, sir!
Nice work cast, writers and crew. Thank all of you for being a part of this production. Big nod to the technicians involved. All of the behind the scenes work is often un-noticed. I noticed. Very well done all of you. Thank yopu for creating this bit of cinematic joy.
That kid has more licorice in his hand than I've eaten in my entire lifetime. I'm 65.
Underrated comment
He spit it out after taking a bite😭
Go back and watch it again. He HATES licorice and giggles.
How can you hate black licorice?
I love it! Thanks to Santee of the Arizona Ghostriders for tuning me in to this short.
Funny, infuriating, exciting, heartbreaking, touching. This short film squeezed out every emotion in 17 minutes. A most pleasant way to spend some time in front of the computer.
How is this not famous yet? so underrated
Damn, made my eyes leak........
That's beautiful.
That got real serious real quick. From fun & laughter to life, death, & the end of a lifetime friendship in the blink of an eye... What a great short movie! Best short movie I've ever seen.
Very nice! The story, the cinematography, cast, the whole thing!
Production values worthy of, no- BEYOND that of many Hollywood units!
This was pretty amazing! That ending tho 😢
This was really good. I was completely sold on the best friends "rivalry", so while it wasn't a surprise Jack's death still hits hard.
It's been a long time since you've uploaded anything, but I'm here for it :) clearly it was time well spent!
Amazing work!! Loved the story and all the characters! Keep on creating, really proud of you!
Thanks for your support man!
Great story, I enjoyed it very much. Had goosebumps in the end.
came from Arizona Ghostriders will differently will stay ..... good work
Beautifully done. Congrats to all involved- but the kids almost stole the movie. Waiting for the next one...
Loved the kids! The one with the brown hair is my son. So special he got to be in it.
Your films have that amazing big budget western look!😃👍
Hopefully, we get to see you in one of these short films
Nicely done! A pleasure to watch. Looking forward to the next one.
Putting Hollywood to shame!
Came over from the Arizona Ghost Riders video was decently surprised of this is absolutely fantastic
That was a great western! You need to make more!
Brilliant story!! This was superb!! I could watch this over and over again! Great job to everyone. ❤
WOW ...DO IT AGAIN , DO IT AGAIN ... We need more like this ! ! !
I love that short film brought tears to my eyes at the end
Greetings from Ireland. I heard about this from Santee on Arizona Ghostriders. Good job. It's a heartwrenching story.
That was great. What a beautiful story and set design.
Very nice short. Was fun recognizing people from Trail Dust and those involved with Arizona Ghost riders. 👍
So lucky to have them be part of it! Thanks for watching!
That was a really good western short, I was lucky I watched "Arizona ghost Riders " today where Santee mentioned it, so thanks to Santee (Who I spotted at 15:07)and congratulations to on the great work.
Got here from Santee at Arizona Ghostriders. Great movie. I will be watching more.
Fantastic! So many beautiful emotions, but also masterfully filmed movie. Bravo!
Well done! I enjoyed it!
Thank you for a great movie, best of luck for continued success!
Script called for the kid to take a bite of black licorice... kid's like... ewe... nah
That was great! Had a lot of laughs, and a few tears watching it.
All I can say is "WOWEEEEE" This short film was definitely a 1st class act all the way through on every little detail. Made me believe that I was actually viewing the old west on my screen just like it really happened. Highest marks for realization, costumes, locale, and clear, bright, sharp photography. The surprise ending was Awesome!!! Thank you so very much for great entertainment!!!!
Thank you for the kind words! 🙏🏻
Absolutely brilliant! Well done to you all!
Thank you kindly!
These shorts are killer and the black licorice ain't bad either.
Mighty fine western picture show that was. I reckon I'll be takin in a few more directly. 🤠
Fantastic movie!!! You two are the best!!
This is so amazing. Well done all the way around. I hope you get to do a full length version. You have great skills.
A damn fine film. Cinematography, sound, story, editing, and of course a fine job of acting by all involved. (I did get a huge kick out of young Lawrence biting the licorice and then clearly spitting it out, that young mn clearly is not a fan of black licorice!) I also really appreciate the period costuming and props-everything looked great, and a huge cut above what one sees even in some big budget productions! A fine job all around, and quite obviously done by a director and crew who clearly love the Western genre.
Very well done, and very moving.
That was a good story, and recognized some of the extras that was cool too. Great job everyone! I hope this goes far.
That was outstanding. What a wonderful story.
Another masterpiece.!!!!
Santee sent me. Glad I came by.
Awesome!
I'm in literal pieces 😭😭 I'm so proud of you, all of the time and effort you put into this was amazing. Ethan is so cute!
Well done.
Best short film I’ve seen in a long time!
Really good movie, really sad about his friend though.
Love it!
Bravo 👏
Loved it! Fantastic job to everyone involved!
Excellent as always. And always enjoy seeing the Pistoleros in action. :)
Heard about this from Santee (AZ Ghostriders), and glad that I found it. Liked the story, and the surprise ending.
Great job! Beautiful work 🎥
That was AWESOME!
Alec Baldwin take note. Not one fatality with dozens of children with dozens of guns.! 😂
Great film!!!
5:20 that's my grandpa! 😊
He was awesome!
Love it.
Great work! Any BTS coming? What did you shoot this one with? C200 again?
Thank for watching! We don’t have too much behind the scenes. But, Red Komodo was used from the very beginning up until they stop the robbers. With the exception of Ext. Town scene with kids and them running as adults was on C200. Then the rest of the film from the closeup of the badge was filmed with BMPCC 6k PRO.
Holy shit the kid in the tree😂😂😂
This was incredible
I heard about this film on the Arizona Ghostriders. Very well done. Coming from an ancestral western lineage and still part of the culture, I found it really enjoyable and a credit to Western cinema.
That was fun
Santee said it was good, and it was. Looking forward to full length westerns made by someone that seems to care about them.
What a great story I enjoyed watching very much.
Love you guys! These films (all of them!) are AMAZING!!! But this one... I laughed and cried and felt pain... and pride... And I totally fell in love with the characters...
That was a well done film, I very much enjoyed it, I hope to see more in the future.
You surely have a grasp of all the little things it takes to make a great Western! I enjoy your films so much, they are so well done and have aspects of the old American Westerns as well as some of the great Spaghetti Westerns of Leone, Corbuicci etc.
Fantastic job, you have a fan here my friend. I think that your casting is also great. This one was a supreme short film. I hope you can continue with your art, my friend. I would definitely pay to see a full-length feature with you at the helm!!
Awesome! I’m glad I got to see this!
why you only have 16K subs is the biggest mystery..as you can tell from many comments below you folks are admired and impressed..with Marvel and Disney putting out such trash with a "message" you stay with great scripting..great acting..and a full range of human emotions..bravo..here is wishing you become widely popular ..as you well deserved..
Top notch. BTW, I'm English and in "The Dentist" Michael Rawlins had me fooled. - I thought he was English. I went back to watch it a couple of times and the only thing that wasn't prefect was when he used the world "Talked". In England we purse the lips to form the "or" sound in "talk". You pronounced it subtly like "tokked" our way sounds a little like "tawked". I'm only mentioning this because, so far, yours is the best British accent I've heard from an American.
"Jolly good show, old chap".
I really love it! ❤🤠
This was incredible. Thank you for making this.
Wow ! This was fun to watch; Great story with an amazing resolution, very very good sound and cinematography, acting is quite nice too, but i was particularly impressed with the fight scene, my gosh it was more realistic than many i've seen in big productions. Some kicks to the body seemed real and painful. Well done, very well done indeed ! Watching this made me curious and i couldn't resist ''binging'' the rest of your stuff and i'm impressed, was a good start to my morning and time well spent. Thank's for sharing, you've got talent man.
This was great and I'm convinced the only reason it isn't more popular is because y'all suck at marketing.
I can’t even imagine all the work that went into making this short! Great story line that was very entertaining, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Great work from everyone involved! 🤠
Beautiful short, and a very touching story. This should be a prime example for any short film
He shouldn’t have pulled that knife out - right? Need to know in case that ever happens to me.
Nice short film with a good story. Though why did he walk back to town, when he had horses right there? Anyhow looking forward to other films. These are definitely a breathe of fresh air, compared to most of the junk people put out there. 🤘😎
Give this man 2 hours of run time and a bigger budget! The only thing I could have wanted more is him setting for the portrait for the artist only to have his friends face painted instead of his using the likeness from their photograph together.
Loved it! Give my deepest thanks to everyone involved!
Bravissimo Michael!!!
This should be made into a full length feature film. It is a great movie short
I have never seen a short movie of any kind before. Watching this was a real treat. I really liked it. So much went into it for just a short. Of time lots of detail action and a great story.
I was surprised by the ending. I was totally taken back. Well done hoping for more of these. 🤠
Myself, the cast and crew appreciate the compliment!
now we know the origin of the Dentist 😅 Just kidding, wonderful film Michael! So good cinematic content, absolutely love it!
Haha! Maybe?? Continuation or another episode is in the works for ‘The Dentist’.
How does this only have 10k views, but someone acting like a robot and making weird sounds has millions? This is such a good film.
Some of the best 17 minutes ive ever enjoyed watchin a shortfilm , i see an oscar in the future here
Love your stories, can't wait for the next one!!!
Awesome film. I'm such a huge western fan and I will say for sure your projects are so much better than the full length movies that get released now and then. You're such a talented man, Michael. I hope you keep doing what you are doing because you are so good at it. I'm a big fan of your westerns. And lots of kudos to the family. They are awesome as well. ❤🤠🙏
You guys made a 17 minute movie that is a thousand times better than the 2 hour films of theaters! Love and luck to everyone that helped make this masterpiece!
Wow, is all gots to say, what a awesome story and very nice work.
What a fantastic video and the perfect ending
Anyone else craving black licorice?
All licorice

That was fantastic. Please keep making these. They deserve big screen credit.
