ok these guys are legit!!! They fixed my keyboard so good I want to send my normal Mac to them for repair. Mine had awful sprite spill on my keyboard, I cleaned it, replaced individual keys and started hating my 2021 MacBook Pro of 2300$ till I fell on this video and sent it and got it back in not more than 10 days, 80% of time in mail they took one day. My local fix it shop wanted to take 5 weeks!!

Thanks for this great video, which tells me I shouldn't try to do it. I will send it in to TEKDEP. One advice would be, please, use an ESD pad and ESD wrist band during your repairs. This could increase the yield of your repair team with much less hassles and later issues at the customer. It is not very limiting hand movements.
We actually work in an ESD safe environment, by wearing a ESD band around our ankles that are connected directly to ground. But this is definitely sound advise!
Awesome video and super helpful. Wouldn't dare try this repair without it? Is there a way to remove rivets and replace with screws? Is keyboard stability an issue?
First of all, great video! I have a MacBook Pro 2251 and the built in keyboard stopped working (attaching an external works fine). Got a hold of a new keyboard on ebay and did the swap and unfortunately, the new one also don't work. I suspect the keyboard logic on the motherboard is busted. Have you guys encountered this before? Anything that can be done to check that logic circuit out or how to do some diagnostics?
Nice work but just to be cautious I would cover the customers screen before doing this. Wouldn't want to scratch the screen when you're working right above it.

can't we replace the keys instead of the whole keyboard so for example instead of AZERTY keys (French keyboard), it's replaced by QWERTY ones? Is it possible without damaging the keyboard?
Unfortunately it is not possible, the switches are in a different layout for non QWERTY keyboards, so swapping the entire unit is needed. Additionally, swapping every key cap on the keyboard would most certainly result in at least one non functioning key, as the housings that hold the switches to the keyboard backing and the plastic inserts that hold the switches to the key caps will stress and fatigue during this process most likely resulting in one part or both of them breaking and the key not function correctly or not sitting correctly on the keyboard.

Hi there! My keyboard had some keys damaged by heat, they were slightly melted, but only aesthetic damage, everything is still working fine. Do you know if it is possible to remove just the keys (keycaps) from this new keyboard and fit them to the original macbook keyboard? Is the fitting system below the keys the same? This way I wouldn't need to open the Mac and change the entire keyboard, I would just change the damaged keycaps. Thanks in advance!
Yes!! You can absolutely replace the individual key caps. Just take extra care to not damage the switches underneath the key caps when removing and replacing them!
I followed this guide and im in the stage where I put back the logic board and connected the ribbon cables, inlcuding the battery ones. I wanted to do a quick test without screwing anything but its not turning on. TouchID ribbon is also connected. Can it be because it doesnt turn on without the bottom panel?
Most affordable way is to just purchase another Touch ID, and it will function as power button since you won’t be able to pair it with your old board and I’m afraid you won’t get your touch if function back unless you replace your entire old logic board with new one that has paired Touch ID. Hi, I've Macbook Pro 13 - Inch M1, 2020. SInce one week I was facing unexpected issue like Key A and D won't worked. If I try to press multiple times like once in 10 time it works. What would be the possible solutions for it. How much cost it? Is it any settings problems or keyboard failure?
Hello! For your unit it is possible to replace just the keyboard, but due to the touch bar and the associated difficulty that it brings, we recommend just replacing the entire top case assembly. We have the top case available here : tekdep.com/product/13-macbook-pro-2020-gray-palmrest-top-case-keyboardtouch-bar-a2338-a2289/ and the keyboard only here : tekdep.com/product/replacement-keyboard-for-2020-apple-macbook-pro-retina-13-a2338-emc-3578/ If you interested in having us complete your repair, we offer mail in repair services here : tekdep.com/valettek/

I think I messed up somewhere. After finishing, I could hear the startup sound but the screen is not displaying anything. I unscrewed and made sure that the LCD cables were properly attached but no luck… any suggestions? Greatly appreciated!
@@mrs9278 yes… but not good news. LCD cables were damaged, not sure how, I guess I pressed too hard or pulled too hard. Sent it in for repair and they quoted me $650… so not great
I just spilled some acetone on my keyboard. In a panic, I put a blow dryer on the affected area, which melted some of the keys. The backlights behind them burned out too. Does this replacement come with backlights to each key or is that a separate part that I have to buy? The sad part is that I just had my MacBook Pro repaired at Apple, but now my Apple Care has expired :(
