  • With my wife Dace we continue traveling this side of the map to share it with you and we arrive at Turkey, a great country that, between east and west, is located at the navel of the world.
Turkey is a diverse and fascinating country that can surprise visitors in many ways. Here we will share with you some of the most notable surprises that you can find when visiting Turkey:
Turkey offers a stunning variety of landscapes, from golden sand beaches on the Mediterranean coast to snow-capped mountains in the Anatolian Alps, to rocky valleys and unique geological formations in the Cappadocia region. Each region has its own natural beauty.
Turkey is home to countless archaeological sites and ancient ruins from civilizations such as the Hittites, Lycians, Greeks, Romans and Ottomans. Places such as Ephesus, Troy, Aphrodisias and Hierapolis are witnesses of its rich historical heritage.
Bridging two continents, the city of Istanbul is a place where history meets modernity. You can explore the ancient Hagia Sophia and then head to a trendy cafe next to the Bosphorus in a matter of minutes.
Turks are known for their warm hospitality and kindness towards visitors. You can be greeted with Turkish tea and sweets in many local shops and homes.
Turkish food is a culinary surprise. From the famous kebabs to mezze dishes, baklava, delicious Turkish tea and Turkish coffee, Turkish cuisine is varied and delicious.
Turkish hamams offer a unique experience of relaxation and cleansing. You can enjoy a traditional massage and steam bath in a stunning environment.
Turkey is known for its crafts, including carpets, ceramics, tiles and jewelry. You can explore markets and workshops to find unique pieces.
Turkey hosts a variety of festivals and cultural events throughout the year, from music festivals to religious and cultural celebrations. These events can offer a fascinating insight into local life.
Turkey is a melting pot of cultures and religions, with Muslim, Christian and Jewish communities, among others. This is reflected in the architecture, food and local traditions.
We will have many pending. Cappadocia is famous for its lunar landscape and underground cities carved into the rock. You can explore these unique geological wonders.
