I love these comparisons. Pilot discontinued Iroshizuku Tsuyu-kusa, Tsukushi, and Ina-ho. I immediately went out and picked up a bottle of Ina-ho. For the blue, I prefer Aso-gao.
Ina-ho is a beautiful colour, I'm so sorry that Pilot discontinued that, and also Tsuyu-kusa which I have recently discovered. I've had Tsukushi for a long time and I don't use it as much as other brown inks, but it's still a lovely colour to come back to occasionally.
I favor these vids. I own asa gao and I love it. I’ve been eyeing both ajisai and tsuyu-kusa.. both beautiful. Love the brown too. Iroshizuku inks are so well behaved.
Great video! I also love the Papier Plume Forget-Me-Not blue, and it's not overpriced like these Pilot inks. I have the Asa-Gao but am about to give mine away because it'll never get used much.
As always, an excellent overview of these inks. I was able to find both ina-ho and tsu-kushi and purchased a bottle of each. I currently have my Platinum Izumo "Biwatame" urushi inked with the tsu-kushi, and love the combination. The ina-ho just arrived yesterday, so no experience with that one yet.
I have heard that Ina-Ho is sold out at a lot of retailers so you probably got it in the nick of time! It's definitely a great shade of brown/gold. I like Ina-ho and also KWZ Old Gold is another one.
Thanks for the fun video, Dave. I was surprised by the amount of sheen on some of these inks. I think the only one I don't have is the Syo-Ro: I was really grateful when the prices dropped on these inks. I have been inking the Tsuyu-kusu in a bunch of pens, too. Just love it. The brown ink was, I believe recently discontinued. I like it because it's so different with almost a purple tone and then all the sheen.
Another great video! I'm really surprised about how beautiful that brown ink is. I have a suggestion for another ink review video. Leonardo makes beautiful inks as well. I'm quite loving the blue one I have inked up these last few months. I think you will like them as well. Keep up the great work!
I was looking at the blues. Once dried if the paper got wet, would the ink smudge? Where do you fine the nib and 3 d printed pen holder. Where do you find the number nib
Yes it would with any fountain pen ink, if the paper were to get wet, it's going to smudge. Dip nib is from a guy called William Shakour in the UK that in the past has 3D printed the pens, Bock #8 Titantium nib.
Thank you Dave! I have just ordered two bottles of Ku Jaku, and only today found out about the Syo Ro, and voilà, you just added a video comparing the two!
I love these comparisons.

I am way too late for Tsukushi. So sad!

Glad it was helpful!
Darn, thanks to you, I am going to be spending a few hundred dollars on ink; thank you very much 😂😂😂

Great suggestion!
Stunning inks and a lovely comparison. 😁
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice Tsuyu -Tsuyu nice, as Bruce Forsyth would say. 😁
Ajisai is one I think I will try.
My experience of Iroshizuku inks are that they are of a very good quality.
Thanks this is a great review for me.
Agreed, Iroshizuku inks are definitely well lubricated and a pleasure to use. I never seem disappointed with them.
I use Hobonichi weeks and the paper is the cream not the white. I don’t want ink to run if it happens to get wet.

Is there a big difference between Japanese inks and any other pen makers inks?
I find the inks typically well lubricated compared to many other pen makers inks.

Enjoy!
This kujaku is greener than part2. Any reason?
It’s most difficult to follow and understand the ink names. I’m not a regular idiot but it’s still difficult.
I have the ink names listed in the description of the video.
