Oh, dear! These things always seem to happen at the most inconvenient times. Many sympathies, and I hope you have a great time in Mexico. For me, I usually try at-home treatments before I go to a doctor, if for no other reason than it can take longer to get an appointment than it will take for whatever the problem is to resolve. So you're certainly not alone in not immediately consulting a dermatologist. Note: my own GP's office will do its best to work you in to see someone if you really need to be seen promptly; this is definitely NOT a criticism of her. My own goto products for this sort of thing have already been mentioned by other commenters - a hypochlorous acid spray like the Tower SOS, Derma-E's eczema cream or an Aveeno product, and a cortisone cream. I thought I might also mention that if someone doesn't have any of these things, you can make a facial mask with ordinary oatmeal that should help.
La roche posey cicaplast baume b5 . It's specifically formulated for damaged skin. Patients who under go radiation use this product. I have used it and it works.
I wish I could add a selfie here so you could see what resveratrol did to my skin... It was scary-alarming! I want to join my vote to these ladies to say Cicaplast B5 Theraputic Cream was remarkable! And it worked FAST!
I'm 5 seconds in and have to comment. I had a great complexion with minimal skincare. When I started following dermatologists and favored influencers, buying many products, over time, my skin changed. The transition from good to bad was shocking.
Has anyone tried the estrogen creams people like Angie are talking about? I want to, but the fine print says you have to pay a subscription fee to use their website after ordering, and the products are auto shipped no matter how fast or slow you use them. I’m not paying a fee.
@@AgendaInMind I tried Musely. It made my skin horribly dry and almost irritated. It was like when you first start a retinoid. I didn’t like it all and honestly I think it made my dark spots darker. I followed all the instructions and even contacted customer service for help. I will say they were very nice. In the end I got a refund. The consultation fee is not refundable. I hope that was helpful. 🩷
My skin reacts to EVERYTHING! I finally ditched my entire skincare routine because I was tired of hives. It’s horrible. I can tell you the ordinary’s rosehip oil was a lifesaver for me. It calmed my skin within a day or two when I’d have a reaction. I now only use sunscreen and Nivea’s cream in the blue tub. I have actually aged backwards which is shocking. Hugs, I hope you get cleared up quickly.
Plain Vaseline did wonders on healing a severe case of contact dermatitis around my eyes...I am so sorry this happened!! The Vaseline Brand is best because of purity..
Yes but people ( naturalists) keep making this product bad. There loss for believing rumors. It's cheap & good. People want pretty bottles (me too) so I put little in a pretty bottle😉
I hear you Tamara! I fried face, neck and décolleté recently. It took three full weeks to heal. As an RN, I got VERY basic. Cool water cleanse and light moisturizer (and sunscreen when outside). No makeup except lipstick. What REALLY helped me heal was: otc cortisone cream once a day for the first few days. And, most importantly, good old-fashioned cheap Calamine Lotion as a wash off mask once or twice a day. Cool cloths and ice helped as well. Hope this helps. ❤️
I’m so sorry this happened to you! I work at a health food store, and to be honest, every single skincare product I have tried from there either breaks me out or irritates my skin.
I had several rosacea reactions exactly like what you’re experiencing. Each time it took my skin a week to cycle through the full reaction & healing process. I couldn’t speed it up. I finally figured out which skincare product was causing it & am now diligent about following a very simple routine. Vaseline was my lifesaver each time. Hopefully with your red light therapy your skin will heal faster!
Oh, yikes. I over-exfoliated a few years ago and my face ended up looking similar. It felt raw, tight, and felt like a sunburn. I ended up going to my aesthetician and she got me on the road to recovery. I appreciate the science that you described behind the products and how our skin is affected by them. ❤
Oh dear, this happened to me with sheet masks, it is a no no for me, cortisone cream made all the difference. Good to hear you are healing, it is a shock when it happens!
Sending you hugs & healing! Ugh, its so upsetting when this happens. This is the very reason I dont use any True Botanicals products... get well soon, Tamara!🩷💐🙏🏻🤗
Oh no Tamara! Bless your heart. I’ve been there and done that and does it not feel good at all. Thank goodness you have great recovery lotions and potions. You will have your skin Barrier fixed in no time. Even thru waking up to your skin feeling so damaged, you still have a way of including some bloopers, which always gives me a giggle. Thank you for sharing as I never do a patch test and I know I should.
I have sensitive skin and fragrance in these products give me headaches. I always test a spot on the side of my face just incase! Never know what you are allergic to.😢😢😢
Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry that this happened to you! I'm glad you were able to narrow it down to the ingredient in the product. Hopefully you're feeling better my friend. Have a fun trip! 😎
I remember as a kid getting nasty rashes all over me because of Mr. Bubble and later Dove soap. I don’t know what it was about either, but I have avoided Dove like the plague since.
I'm sorry to hear/see what happened and what you must be going through. Thank you for sharing your story as I'm sure many women can relate and need the reminder. I'm also going to MX in 5 days! Have fun Tamara - enjoy!
Ixtapan Spa in Ixtapan de la Sal. It's 1.5 hours away from Mexico City. Have a fabulous time; how awe inspiring to see whales, right? Warm weather here we come. :)
Ouch! It’s like chapped skin all over your beautiful face! Thanks for sharing this awful experience and the steps you are taking to reverse the damage. Good luck on a speedy recovery b4 you go on your trip!
Wishing you a speedy recovery I’m sure you will recover in a few days. I love the soothe & recovery cream. That’s why I’m very hesitant to try new products because I have sensitive skin. I will get reactions it all depends. I just never know.
Short, simple and effective drugstore products could've done the job at healing. Vanicream, Aveeno, the La roche Posay cicaplast balm and also a good layer of the most casty zinc oxide based sunscreen are very effective at healing. Applying a very thick zincy sunscreen like a mask for a day works like magic from my experience.
Luckily I had Prequel products on hand...super gentle and basically drugstore priced. I did run to Walmart today and picked up some Aveeno Calm and Restore serum and moisturizer. Great products as well! ❤
Calm and Restore serum was going to be my suggestion! Glycerin based, Oat kernel, no fragrance, no essential oils, no hyaluronic acid. Applied to skin before moisturizer can turn an ordinary moisturizer into extra ordinary. Sometimes boring skin care is best.
I appreciate that you posted about this reaction to a face product. My face is very sensitive and I do test and go slow on any new product. If I have any reaction large or small, I toss the product. I am getting over a reaction to a higher level of an over the retinol cream, no problems with the lower level for 2 years. No immediate problem with the higher dose but after two weeks my face reacted, dry skin, red patches, itchy eyes and stinging. I have followed your recommendation and my skin is calming down.
I've had this happen a few times, from various causes, and I know that sandpaper feeling all too well. One cause was not the products themselves but I learned through the course of having cataract surgery last year that the demodex mites that live on all of us in our eyelashes were getting overabundant, which can happen as we age. The breakouts I'd been having for about the year prior mostly ended after regular treatment with doctor recommended OTC tea tree oil eyewash. I think you've identified your culprit and have a good plan for healing. I did have a bad all over reaction about a month ago when on a whim I used an oil-based product before bed with resveratrol in it that I hadn't used in a long time, and woke up looking much like you the next morning. I don't know if I have a new sensitivity or the product had turned somehow and was too old. So that went into the get rid of category. It took about a week to get my skin back to normal with gentle care, no actives, just cleansing with either Prequel or the super gentle La Roche-Posay hydrating cleanser, gel moisturizer, La Roche cica baume, and Vaseline. I think I did use my non-tinted SPF too that week, the Canmake that is very moisturizing. Thanks for sharing your story and hope it heals quickly!
How upsetting. I hope you recover quickly. I got a retinal burn once that turned out like this. After a few days, I used a centella toner, pure hyaluronic acid serum, and cerave daily moisturizing lotion. Only washing face with water. That helped heal it up fast.
I am also allergic to juniper berries, both in the garden and in the alcohol gin. I never thought about it being in a skin care ingredient. I, too, will be more vigilant in reading labels. Sorry for your experience, but thanks for sharing.
I hadn't thought of my allergy in years! (and I hate gin LOL) It must be an unusual allergy (lucky us) I never would have thought I would find it in a skin care product. But yes, a very good reminder to be diligent!
Oh Tamara my heart goes out to you. Your skin looks so painful. I’m so glad you have the Prequel ointment to help your skin recover. I recently had a facial using a product line I have used before and my skin reacted terribly. I woke up the next day with my eyes swollen, red, scaly and itchy, it was awful. I too used the Prequel ointment and I had some steroidal cream that my dermatologist gave me for a previous reaction. My skin reactions generally present around my eyes. It sounds like you have this under control and that you should be fine for your trip. Have a great trip!!! Xoxo.
I’m 67 & my skin felt like sandpaper! It’s never happened to me either! I washed with water only & used Aveeno oat calming serum & Purito skin barrier. It took about 5 days to help. I’m so sorry you’ve had this reaction.❤️
I have 100% faith in you that your skin will be better in no time, and will be ready for a wonderful Mexican vacation. Have a great time, relax, enjoy and come back with wonderful stories to tell us.
@ You are an inspiration to all your viewers with your wisdom and dedication for excellent skin care. If anyone can correct their skin barrier, it’s you. Have a wonderful time in Mexico!
So much science! Important info about the moisture barrier, it’s real as the kids say, I’m still learning, but sorry to see you have a good example of disruption of the barrier! - so interesting about the red light helping, great demo but sorry about the reaction you had ! ❤
Looks soo uncomfortable… you r doing all the right things. Yes Target carries Prequel. I love their cleanser and can’t wait to continue trying their other products , need to get thru some other brands before I buy more . Keep us posted on your skin recovery
Tamara, I’m so sorry you are going through this nightmare! But I want to say THANK YOU for reporting us this chaos. It’s a very good lesson to patch test new products and don’t just assume that an expensive product is the best choice. I’m learning in my 60th yr, and from humbling experience, thst sometimes the most basic, inexpensive and simplified old school products are superior to the fancy packaging and extensive designer ingredients. You’re still and always beautiful as ever, inside and out. Rest up and surrender to some “me time” indoors and laugh at that snowstorm outside 🎉😴
I feel for you! I did this to my face once. Too much exfoliation. I will never forget the redness, and the raw feeling on my skin. I quickly looked through my stash to see what I had that might help. I pulled out my bottle of CeraVe night time lotion. It did the trick! Within 24 hours my skin felt much better! Good luck!
In the past, I had an allergy to a product (a sample of well known night cream...) who was terrible also. I felt like a «hot» lobster and was so red, one of my eye was almost close!!!! Terrible reaction. I saw my doctor for this. Now, I keep my cleaning and creaming routine simple with only Clarins product. Everething is fine since then and I do not want to change anything.
That was actually very helpful because I'm allergic to lots of things and this has happened a lot of times to me. I hope you'll heal soon and you will enjoy your trip!! Kisses ❤!!!
Oh dear Lord, have mercy 😮 the thumbnail had me wanting to pick up the phone and call you!! Sending you healing hugs my friend🥰💜🥰💜 Oh my, I almost opened this true botanicals last week. Glad I didn’t. My skin still healing as you know.
You poor soul! I am also allergic to Juniper. I look like a red Michelin Man when I come in contact with it. It is such a painful experience. Wishing you speedy healing.
If you have a basic no-frills hydrating toner at hand, that might be nice under the prequel ointment. Something like the Cerave hydrating toner has the benefit of ceramides to help your barrier.
Thank you for this video, hope you heal quickly. I can relate to what is going on. I have to be extra careful I have very sensitive skin. Yes Target carries some of the Prequel products. Good luck🤞🏻❤️
Oh my! I feel so sorry for you and I understand how awful it is to have a skin reaction. I'm highly allergic to methylisothialinone, which is used as a preservative in many products, from skin creams & lotions, makeup, finger nail, deodorant, hair care & color, body washes, perfume, household cleaners, laundry detergents, etc. This chemical has been found to create many skin issues and more people are becoming allergic to it. My dermatologist sent me to a specialist and I had a week of allergy testing to determine it. I had to become a "label reader" to protect myself against a skin reaction that can last months to clear up. It creates a rash that looks like dermatitis and is very, red and itchy. I wish you the best and hope you have a fantastic vacation!
I have many, many allergies to practically every tree and bush. Because of my history, I avoid natural products unlike most people. Hope your skin feels better soon.
When creams have such long ingredients lists it almost automatically discourages me from looking through all the ingredients but sometimes it's really necessary. I find higher end, natural, and some Korean skincare to have the longest ingredients lists.
Aquaphor has lanolin so use caution. Many people are allergic. I am-when I had radiation for breast cancer they told me to use this after treatments. What a mess -I had a terrible reaction and MSK dermatologist concluded it was from the lanolin. They switched me to a prescription cream which was great.
Allergic contact dermatitis! At least you figured out the culprit. This is why self patch testing is highly recommended with all new products and only add one new product at a time. And return new products that cause reactions right away so you aren’t tempted to try them again. Products containing botanicals and/or fragrance are frequent culprits. “Natural” is not necessarily better. And many high priced products contain long lists of botanicals and “natural” ingredients. I tend to stick with simple products and favor Vanicream, Cerave, LaRoche Posay and some dermatologist product lines designed for sensitive skin. And fragrance free whenever possible. Thank you for sharing this experience with your followers.
Oh, Tamara, that looks painful. So sorry that happened to you! I've been there before. I hope you feel better soon and all cleared up for your vacation. 🙏 . EDIT: I should have mentioned that Dermelect has a WONDERFUL Barrier Repair Serum, as does The Ordinary. Both have helped my skin Barrier tremendously.
Cica/centella and Artemisia aka mugwort. I use the Missha Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence. 💙💙 Hope your face feels better soon. I've heard Strata Lipid Gold is great for the skin barrier. So glad I've been taking your advice to patch test 💗
I hope your skin healing if going well. I understand exactly how your face feels. I have extremely sensitive skin. I read all my ingredients always, but even products from Cerave and Cetaphil bother my skin. I use Paula's Choice Calm Collection and if I stay true to them my skin behaves. This collection includes a 1% BHA exfolliator which they say you can use nightly, but I find once a week works for my skin.
I just did this around Christmas. I had gotten pretty good chemical peel and then while my skin was still sensitive even though I wasn’t peeling or red anymore I experimented with some new products and oh my gosh the barrier issues and breakouts I experienced as result were depressing lol it took me basically a month to heal it. The products I used that helped- Avene cicalfate Prequel gleanser Prequel hydrating serum Prequel ointment gel Elta Md restore Naturium peptide cream
Poor you! this has happened to me lots of times when I was stressed. Layering and compatibility is a nightmare. I find some oils (such as Sea Buckthorn and fragrances just awful, regardless of their reputation). Hang on in there
Hey there Tamara. Sorry this happened, but glad you figured out the cause right away. When you put the petroleum product on I thought about slugging. Maybe that would help. That mask was a good idea! Hope your recovery goes well and you can enjoy 🇲🇽 your trip. I'm in a quandary myself. Somehow ended up with covid oye, I'll be watching lots of videos...😢 ok take ❤care😊
I'm so sorry this happened to you but I'm glad you have a good plan that should have you healed up in no time. When something similar happened to me and I had a severe reaction to corn (and corn was in everything topical) I healed my skin w/ olive oil soap and beef tallow. I smelled like a steak but I didn't care because my skin was finally not burning 😉
One never knows. I use a wonderful skin with beauty line and never had an issue. When they recently launched their very well received Barrier Build cream I bought it and used it over clean skin each morning. One day I felt particularly dry and used a sample of their moisture milk beforehand and within hours my face was red and swollen. When I contacted them they were more than gracious, returned the cost and told me to pass the Barrier Build cream on. This, in addition to the effectiveness of their products is why I will continue to use them. I hope your skin has nearly recovered by now. It took mine nearly 72 hours to recover.
Oh, Tamara I feel so bad for you!! I know you are miserable. We have all been there, I know I have. I know you know exactly what you need to do, and yes you're right about Target selling Prequel products. Good Luck!!
Thank you so much Wanda! Luckily my skin is getting a little better each day. Hopefully I will be able to at least tolerate mineral SPF in Mexico. But it will be a while before I can get back to my usual skin care routine...makes packing for Mexico much simpler ❤
Girl I feel you- I am also allergic to juniper. When the Juniper trees/shrubs bloom I am miserable. I can’t eat certain seafood spiced with juniper berries or drink Gin which is commonly made from juniper berries. It’s my only known allergy - how crazy is that! I would have had the same if not worse of a reaction. Thank you for the reminder to read the labels/ingredients lists always
I'm so sorry to learn or your miserable allergic reaction but hope you are well on your way to recovery now. I recently had such a severe allergic reaction to a chemical sunscreen product (Japan) on my face an hands that the reaction resembled a severe autoimmune skin condition that the dermatologists had to do a skin biopsy to determine the cause. Because my reaction itched as well as being red, dry, and irritated, the dermatologist recommended CeraVe Itch Relief Moisturizing Cream. If you have any kind of skin condition that itches--this is a miracle. Works for mosquito bites too. I never plan to be without it. Stops the itch, very soothing. Is non steroidal and doesn't require a prescription.
Juniper and Sage makes me break out as well. I discovered this year ago when I went to a spa in Sedona, Az and after my treatment discovered welts all over my body. Brutal.
Oh no Tamara! I'm sorry to say I've been there to. Unlike you, I 'do' have sensitive and reactive skin, so I have a lot of experience in repairing my skin. I tried all the heroes, by LRP, including cicaplast, Avene, DRMTLGY, and others. When my skin is screaming, I discovered the most soothing product is Triple Paste zinc cream. I find that when I'm inflamed, prickly and red, Triple Paste calms it, and the rest of me (!), right down. I had never heard of it until Dr. Shareene Idriss started vlogging about it. It's on amazon and very affordable. Good luck with your repair.
Do you think Vanicream moisturizer is good for you to use while healing? You introduced me to this and I love it because it is the most gentle moisturizer I have ever used. I never feel burning tingling etc when I use it. I hope you heal quickly! 💕
Yes! I love Vanicream…so gentle. I’m almost out of my DRMTLGY Soothe and Recovery… But I found some Aveeno calm and restore cream so I’m using that as my skin calms down.
Less is more when it comes to the skin. My mother had the most beautiful skin using dove soap and ponds cold cream. I am not going to fall for the newest products out there. I stick to the basics such as a swipe of Lactic, VC, and a peptide. At night 0.5 strength tretinoin sometimes alternating with retinaldyde and moisturize. I am 68 and many people want to know why my skin looks so good. Once you ruin your skin barrier it can be difficult to repair. It happened to me on my chin by using 5-FU chemo cream. It was like raw meat. That has been 6 years ago and if I'm too aggressive, the skin is rough and red. I had to use Aquaphor for a very long time. Best of luck.
Oh dear, I had this happen to me for the very first time this year as well. Right before Thanksgiving and it lasted all through the holidays. I tried several different products so I'm going to keep listening to hear what you tried the two things I think that really helped me was the Belif aqua bomb sensitized skin moisturizer. That product was one of the only things I could actually put on my face. Everything hurt, and like you said it was sensitive to the touch. I had dry patches, and it almost felt like there was heat coming off of my skin. There was a polish choice serum that I used along with that moisture bomb that actually seemed to work really well in conjunction with it. It was a product that came in a green bottle that had ceramides and Beta Glucans, but I forgot what it was called. I have to go look. I didn't do microcurrent or micro, needling or radio frequency for I think about eight weeks. 😩 it's awful. I'm very interested to hear what did this to you
Sounds awful! Luckily ibonly had one new oriduct and I was able to identify the culprit quickly…I never expected to see Juniper in skincare! I will be extra careful studying ingredients AND doing a patch test from now on. Thank goodness My skin is calming down nicely.
I had the same reaction to Dr Jart's Ceramidin cream. Felt great going on and a few hours later I was beetroot red. It was the bergamot oil. I didn't read the ingredient list properly either but everyone was saying how great it was for sensitive skin. Lesson learned the hard way.

That's a good one! Thank you for sharing ❤
I can confirm that it is very soothing for skin reacting to all sorts of chemicals. ❤
It is a miracle product
I wish I could add a selfie here so you could see what resveratrol did to my skin... It was scary-alarming! I want to join my vote to these ladies to say Cicaplast B5 Theraputic Cream was remarkable! And it worked FAST!
Agree! I use it a day after my microneedling or any time I feel my skin barrier is damaged
I'm 5 seconds in and have to comment. I had a great complexion with minimal skincare. When I started following dermatologists and favored influencers, buying many products, over time, my skin changed. The transition from good to bad was shocking.
Same here. Less is definitely more.
@@AgendaInMindI looked too. For the new Alloy there is a $49 Doctor consultation appointment fee.
@ I tried Musely and it was not a good experience. My skin was very unhappy. Customer service was great. I got a refund. Hope that helps.
Rosehip oil . Where did you find it please. My skin is looking very red and abused
Love Nivea cream. All my mother used & she had perfect skin.
Plain Vaseline did wonders on healing a severe case of contact dermatitis around my eyes...I am so sorry this happened!! The Vaseline Brand is best because of purity..
That’s what my derm said to use, and it works, plus very inexpensive.
Yes but people ( naturalists) keep making this product bad. There loss for believing rumors. It's cheap & good. People want pretty bottles (me too) so I put little in a pretty bottle😉
I used it after using a night cream that seemed to give me a chemical burn.
I use Healing Ointment after my tretinoin. Has Vaseline and ceramides.
Tamara, I'm so sorry you are going through this. Take care of yourself.
You turned this into a video of what helped heal your barrier as a positive side ❤ feel better!
I NEVER put ANYTHING on my face until I research on Paula's Beautypedia Ingredient Checker. That Chebula Cream has 7 "Worst" ingredients.
Thank you for this link! Bookmarking it as insurance 😂🏋️♂️
Thanks for this link. I already used it and it’s fantastic!
@@beverlysaylor7339 interesting their Customer Service Rep. didn't tell me about that resource. Thx
Oh my gosh Tamara, you poor thing, that redness looks so uncomfortable
Gentle hugs for you during recovery 💕
I had several rosacea reactions exactly like what you’re experiencing. Each time it took my skin a week to cycle through the full reaction & healing process. I couldn’t speed it up. I finally figured out which skincare product was causing it & am now diligent about following a very simple routine. Vaseline was my lifesaver each time. Hopefully with your red light therapy your skin will heal faster!
Tamara so sorry your going through this but it looks like your giving yourself tender loving care and I hope it heals for your trip have fun ❌⭕️
Chemical exfoliating 2 or 3 times a week seems like a lot.
I agree. I recommend cutting back to once a week.
Yes; I never do more than once.
Oh, yikes. I over-exfoliated a few years ago and my face ended up looking similar. It felt raw, tight, and felt like a sunburn. I ended up going to my aesthetician and she got me on the road to recovery. I appreciate the science that you described behind the products and how our skin is affected by them. ❤
So sorry you’re experiencing this Tamara and thank you for sharing it with us. Prayers up for a speedy recovery. 🙏🏻
Thank you so much Debbie! Thank goodness my skin is calming down. ❤️
YIKES!!🥶🥶 Tamara I am so sorry this happened. I hope you heal well.
Thank you so much Karla! This was def a reminder for me to study ingredients AND do a patch test. Glad you enjoy the bloopers! ❤
I’m guilty of seldom doing patch tests - especially for a cream costing 100+, I would just assume it’s fantastic ! 🙃
I have sensitive skin and fragrance in these products give me headaches. I always test a spot on the side of my face just incase! Never know what you are allergic to.😢😢😢
I know, me too! I'm definitely going to be doing patch tests for everything from now on.
Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry that this happened to you! I'm glad you were able to narrow it down to the ingredient in the product. Hopefully you're feeling better my friend. Have a fun trip! 😎
Thank you Mel! ❤
45 years ago, this happened to me with Dove soap, & I've never forgotten it!
Agree
I remember as a kid getting nasty rashes all over me because of Mr. Bubble and later Dove soap. I don’t know what it was about either, but I have avoided Dove like the plague since.
I hope your skin will heal quickly so you can enjoy your trip ❤
Love Prequel! I can't use anything "natural" most natural for me is irritating.
Thank you for sharing.
I will use organic cold pressed castor oil. I use it every night and my skin looks hydrated, love it.
The smell?🥺
@monikaheron3851 I don't smell it on the organic hexane free, cold pressed I use.
Hi Tamara. You are very brave!! Thank you for sharing!! This will help a lot of us! I love the Prequal line!! Be gentle on yourself!!
I'm sorry to hear/see what happened and what you must be going through. Thank you for sharing your story as I'm sure many women can relate and need the reminder. I'm also going to MX in 5 days! Have fun Tamara - enjoy!
Thank you Amy! Mexico is my happy place this time of year. Can't wait to whale watch on the Sea of Cortex. Where in Mexico are you going?
Ixtapan Spa in Ixtapan de la Sal. It's 1.5 hours away from Mexico City. Have a fabulous time; how awe inspiring to see whales, right? Warm weather here we come. :)
@ Sounds wonderful! Enjoy!
I'm sorry that happened to you, I hope you heal soon ❤
This is such a great teaching video, but i am sorry you are going through this. Hope your skin is all calmed down soon!
Oh, Tamara! I'm so sorry this happened. Sounds like you have a good plan for healing. Praying you ate all healed in time for your trip.
Thank you Tina! Luckily my skin improved within a few days and I am now enjoying Mexico with my daughter! ❤
@TamarasTimelessBeauty so glad to hear that!
Calm and Restore serum
was going to be my suggestion!
I'm so happy to hear your skin is calming down! ❤
Expensive & natural doesn't mean safe or better.
SO true! ❤
@@TamarasTimelessBeauty It seems more to me like allergic contact dermatitis rather than damaged barrier.
I'm so sorry. Thank you for sharing and warning me and giving good advice. Hope it heals quickly.
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement, it means a lot! ❤
The red light really helped reduce the redness! Wow! Very impressive!
Oh Tams, how awful! When you applied the ointment your skin definitely looked calmer. Fingers crossed it improves before your trip ❤❤❤
Xoxo.
Thank you Janet! My skin is already feeling better…thank goodness!
Oh no Tamara, I hope by the time you see my comment, you are well in the way to healing 🙏
I’m 67 & my skin felt like sandpaper! It’s never happened to me either! I washed with water only & used Aveeno oat calming serum & Purito skin barrier. It took about 5 days to help. I’m so sorry you’ve had this reaction.❤️
I love the Aveeno Calm and Restore Line. I'm going to pick it up for my trip to Mexico! Thanks for the reminder! ❤
Sorry about your weather -but not a bad time to be housebound as you allow your face to recover - great advice -hope you heal quickly
I have 100% faith in you that your skin will be better in no time, and will be ready for a wonderful Mexican vacation. Have a great time, relax, enjoy and come back with wonderful stories to tell us.
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement, it means a lot! ❤
@@TamarasTimelessBeautyYou are so
@ You are an inspiration to all your viewers with your wisdom and dedication for excellent skin care.
Glad it was helpful!
😘💕❤️
A cautionary tale, hope you are better soon!💗
Kisses ❤!!!
Thank you so much. I'm so glad you found it helpful! 😘💞❤
Thank you for sharing and your honesty. I'm sure you are helping many people. Good luck to you!
Oh Tamera that looks very painful. So sorry that happened to you. ❤
Oh dear Lord, have mercy 😮 the thumbnail had me wanting to pick up the phone and call you!! Sending you healing hugs my friend🥰💜🥰💜
Oh my, I almost opened this true botanicals last week. Glad I didn’t. My skin still healing as you know.
I’m glad you saw this video before trying TB cream! You’re a doll…catch up soon! ❤️
@@TamarasTimelessBeauty 😊
You poor soul! I am also allergic to Juniper. I look like a red Michelin Man when I come in contact with it. It is such a painful experience. Wishing you speedy healing.
If you have a basic no-frills hydrating toner at hand, that might be nice under the prequel ointment. Something like the Cerave hydrating toner has the benefit of ceramides to help your barrier.
Thank you for this video, hope you heal quickly. I can relate to what is going on. I have to be extra careful I have very sensitive skin. Yes Target carries some of the Prequel products. Good luck🤞🏻❤️
Oh my goodness Tamara, hoping for a quick healing. ❤
Thank you Connie! Thank goodness my skin is calming down...I'll be able to wear SPF in Mexico. ❤
You are absolutely right! I'm going to be extremely diligent reading labels all the way to the end from now on. ❤
I find that too. I shy away from high end and all natural if too many ingredients.
I’ve done this before, as well. I always have a tub of Aquaphor on hand. This always works for me.
Thanks for sharing! I am def going to keep repair balms on hand at all times! ❤
Aquafor is a miracle worker for me when something like this happens.
CeraVe in the large tub is fantastic too. My dermatologist recommended it and it solves everything!
It Is not pleasant to have skin barrier issues. The red light certainly did help reduce the redness. Heal quickly!
Enjoyed this video. So glad your skin barrier is improving.
Thanks! It's getting better every day!
Hope your face feels better soon. I've heard Strata Lipid Gold is great for the skin barrier.
So glad I've been taking your advice to patch test 💗
Thank you! My skin is definitely on the mend, but it has been a rough week. I will be doing a lot more patch testing from now on. ❤
@@suehembrook6956 thank you so much Sue! My skin is pretty much back to normal it’s as nano goodness! Thank you for sharing your favorites! ❤️
oh no! Prayers for speedy healing. I may need that mask! p.s. enjoy your trip!
The products I used that helped-
Avene cicalfate
Prequel gleanser
Prequel hydrating serum
Prequel ointment gel
Elta Md restore
Naturium peptide cream
Poor you! this has happened to me lots of times when I was stressed. Layering and compatibility is a nightmare. I find some oils (such as Sea Buckthorn and fragrances just awful, regardless of their reputation). Hang on in there
Oh, I feel you! For me, it is the Weleda Skin Food cream. So many rave about it. Ouch - it destroys my skin!.
I have found that Josie Marian’s Argan oil alone before bed made a world of difference when I mixed products that did not play well together.
I love Jose Moran products! Thank you for the reminder! ❤️
I hope you won’t have any itching as this subsides. I’m glad you have that Vaseline type product to use. Very soothing, isn’t it.
Ouch. So sorry. Hope u heal quick
Oh no! Feel better and take care! ❤️
Been there too… I wish your skin gets back to normal soon!
Interesting! Thank you for sharing Cheryl! ❤
Hope you will feel better soon.
Thank you Beckie! It's much better!
Oh my goodness, I hope your recovered from your allergic reaction.
How many products do you put on your face, morning and evening? Seems excessive and very expensive.
Thank you for sharing, may you heal soon and enjoy Mexico.
Thank you for sharing! My skin is much better now...thank goodness. ❤
I use Emu oil to heal after a face peel. Tallow is great too
Oh, Tamara I feel so bad for you!!
It never occurred to me that juniper would be a skin care ingredient!
I treated myself to the fancy ‘Vitners Daughter’ oil once. Gave me acne for the first time in decades. Same with Blue Cocoon.
You poor thing!! Hopefully that Prequel ointment (my new holy grail too) comes to the rescue!
Juniper and Sage makes me break out as well. I discovered this year ago when I went to a spa in Sedona, Az and after my treatment discovered welts all over my body. Brutal.
So sorry this happened Tamara. It looks so sore and angry. It looks like an allergic reaction to me.
I've never heard of that product, thanks for the recommendation!
I'm very interested to hear what did this to you
Tamara said it was from Chebula Extreme Cream that had two juniper oils in it. She allergic to juniper.
I'm sorry Tamara!!
My barrier is easily damaged so I can sympathize. I'm interested to hear how you plan heal it.
