    The Lions won't move off Goff. We only save 650k for cutting him. Makes no sense, there's no QB we can draft that will play as serviceable as Goff.

      But you might strike gold. You’re not going anywhere with Goff so what’s the point. I never understand why people stick with mediocre quarterbacks because they’re scared to have a worse quarterback. If you’re not a contender who cares about the season. Keep trying to find the guy

    If I'm the Texans GM, I'm giving Mills another year or two. He really showed some promise in the second half of the season, even though the rest of the team is trash. They should offload Watson as soon as they can, get some picks, and put a team together around Mills. QB draft this year doesn't look all that great anyway. Not sure what next year's will look like.

    • @rudeknees
      @rudeknees 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I honestly think they made the right choice when they drafted mills

      Are Watson's legal troubles over? If not he might be tough to trade.

    • @btbarr16
      @btbarr16 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Briguy1027 Nope, nothing is resolved yet. At first, I thought they're just gonna have to take what they can get for him, but I'm sure pick protections will be built into the contract for the team that trades for him i.e., if he can't play we get our picks back one way or another. I imagine the trade wouldn't include any picks for this year's draft. They probably would be for the 2023 and 2024 draft since things would likely be resolved by then. With that said, they may be able to get better than the bottom dollar for him. However, the crux of it is that Watson has a no trade clause. So, it's still his choice which team he'll waive the clause for. If a few teams are willing to trade for him, but he'll only waive his clause for one team, then the Texans will take what they can get. Their only other option would be to pay the man 35 million of his guaranteed money to sit at home and watch TV... again.

      For years the Chargers had great offense and defense and somehow still couldn't win because the Special Teams was garbage. After 3 straight division titles from '07-'09, they missed the playoffs in '10 despite the fact that they had the #1 offense in the NFL by yards AND the #1 defense in the NFL by yards because their special teams were so atrocious. Granted Yards are not the end-all be-all of winning football but if you outgain your opponents by 2k yards in a season you should expect to win double-digit games, which they could not do that wild season.
      That was the start of the lean years for San Diego; '11 was nearly as wild because they were the only AFC West team with a positive point differential (the rest of the teams were -50 or worse!) and yet somehow they lost the division. I remember those two years especially well even though I'm not a Chargers fan simply because they were so wild for San Diego failing so badly despite being so good.

    No analysis. Rich said the Falcons should replace Matt Ryan last year despite them having a $48 million cap charge in 2022 & $43 in 2023. Not to mention the 2021 cap hit. I guess Rich's analysis is so shallow he doesn't even understand what a $140 million cap hit would do last year. Doesn't the guy every look at contracts to understand what a team can and cannot do? There is NO WAY the Falcons will draft a top 5 QB in this draft. Matt Ryan will be the QB - health permitting - in 2022 & 2023. If the Falcons draft a QB it will be next year if they have a chance to package some picks together to get Young or Stroud. They are cap strapped and can't "make a run" at the playoff like Rich suggests. But one more year of pain and the cap situation will finally be cleared. It's the teams who don't have a starter under contract and who have massive cap problems who must draft a QB in this draft. NO & TB fit the bill. Both teams are already going to have to cut major names just to have enough cap space to sign their rookies. This makes it very unlikely they could afford even a journeyman starter type (Tyrod Taylor, Sam Darnold, Jimmy Garrapolo, etc).
    The teams that must have a NEW QB this year assuming Wilson & Rodgers stay in place, are HOU, CAR, DEN, WAS, NO, PIT, and TB. Teams like DET, MIA, ATL, MIN, IND, CLE, PHI can all survive one more year without a QB because they already have starters under contract. Of course Watson, Garappolo, WInston, and Darnold are going to have a shot to play because there aren't enough QB's in this draft who can start this year.
    It's just shocking how people who spend a life covering the sport can't even comprehend the obvious situation various teams are in with contracts, salary cap, available 1st round picks, etc.

    Personally, I think the DJ "love" is a somke screen. THey are not going to say bad things about him, so they do not lower his trade value. I think the only people that think DJ is they guy are Giants fans. DJ has too many non teachable things that need improvement; pocket presence, pocket awareness and processing speed just to name a few. If he succeeds somewhere else I will be happy for him, but I do not see him doing any better with the Giants next year. There are too many holes and not enough salary cap space to fill them with above average talent. DJ is a backup a best. I don't blame him for being picked 6th overall, but I blame him for the lack of appreciable improvement. Good QBs overcome bad situations, and DJ has not.

Watson is too risky, the legal situation is up in the air and he hasnt thrown a pass in a year. With the QB's avaible in the draft. Pickett or Corral. Willis if we trade down from 6. But most likey it will be Pickett which I am fine with, I would say go for Willis but considering who our coach is I am pretty sure we will not take a project QB. I just really hope Rhule dosent go for a Jimmy G or Wentz or hell knowing him Golf.
