Eh I think Evan’s usage should go up tremendously. His midrange game was amazing his rookie year and they never went back to it. At most 3 threes attempts per game. His other parts of his game should be unlocked more like dribble drives, midrange post ups and decisions off the dribble like playmaking and pull ups
Let's not overlook the importance of the midrange. Sure we need the floor spacing but these guys need to be able to hit pull up jumpers when defense closes lanes etc.
I want to hear Evan Mobley's answer if he thinks he is ready to start shooting more 3s. I want to hear his confidence in that answer and what he can explain to back it up. You hear stories all the time about the guys who show up first in the gym like LeBron and you hear about guys who stay late after bad performances like Giannis. Where does Mobley see himself and what does he pride himself on going into next season?
Tim Duncan PLEASE>>>>>> He had a killer bank from 18ft along with a terrific paint game. Sorry, I want my 7 footers getting put-backs, offensive rebounds and back taps = more possessions please. I really believe that Evan is a 5.....! He can be a great one at that!
I think he's a 5 too, but stretch 5s are the future: just look at which teams are good, it's the ones with Jokic and Chet and Porzingis and Embiid and Lopez.
His usage is going to go up under a good offensive coach willing to go away from the guard to JA 1-5. but if not, I don't see how Mobley is anything more than a 4th option as usual. They really are more likely to continue to use their two non spacing bigs with a slow grind governor on their output
