Excellent production. Highly enjoyed. The pace, clarity of voice, order of material, and graphics were immaculately put together. You are my go-to for tech tips from now.
Hey Will. Thanks for explaining the process in easy to understand language. I am studying for MCP 70-410 and this enabled me to understand this portion of the objective really easily. Thank you.
You're very welcome, Laura. Since NIC Teaming is a new feature to Windows Server 2012, you should expect a few questions on it in the exam. I'm glad you found the video helpful. Good luck for your exam.
Hi Will!!! I've looked through sooo many books and tutorials online but this video helped me understand NIC teaming the most by a long way!!!! I look forward to watching more videos from you to help me get my MCSA!
estario You're very welcome estario. Glad I could help. I am currently working on more videos relevant to the MCSA, so watch this space. Best of luck with your studies. Thanks for watching and commenting.
+Timothy M Oh wow. That's very flattering! I hope the videos have been helpful for your studies. We are currently working on Windows 10 Hyper-V, and will be looking at Windows Server 2016 Hyper-V in the new year. Thanks for watching!
While mostly right you are incorrect about LACP and Static teaming not being redundant capable on the switch layer. you can do Stacked switches. where they report as a single switch but if one break and you have half of the adapters connected to the still working switch it will keep on working as long as the adapters are teamed (bonded on linux)
Thank you for the lesson and a great video. if I do this in a work group environment would I need to put dhcp and dns roles onto the server or could I let the router do it as long as the server has a static IP? Thanks in advance.
+techtipsfromwill : I hit a blank wall. I am running Hyper-V in windows 10. My logitech wireless mouse and keyboard is not being detected by Hyper-V. My machine is an ACER V3-471G with 8GB RAM. Any idea Will.... Thanks in Advance.
Hello, Please could you help with this question? Am i able to put the same static IP address in the three nic? Or I have to put three different static IP?
Hello Yoldy. Thank you for commenting. Based on your question, I'm assuming you have three NIC cards that you want to combine into a NIC team. Before you create the NIC team, you do not need to assign an IP address to any of the three NIC cards. Personally, I would leave them all on DHCP. Once you create the NIC team from the three adapters, you will lose the ability to assign them individual IP addresses - so giving them IP addresses in the first place holds no merit. You can only assign the virtual adapter (the "team") an IP address. Hope this helps! :-)
Hi thanks for the wonderfull video . I tried this same scenario in my VM machine . When i disable ethernet nic1 disable . I get error message . Standby mode is not coming active .
My god your voice is so bloody annoying. Trying to concentrate on the video is very hard. However, video and animations are very good and easy to understand.
