Hey thanks for reacting to my tiktok! I just want to clarify that my gecko was in a quarantine set up because I had just gotten him and I wanted to make sure he was eating and pooping well before getting him all set up. He had 5 hides in that enclosure but he now has even more hides, substrate, and live plants since he has proven to be healthy! He also came to me from a breeding facility where he was not handled so he’s not a very tamed down boy. I’m working with him slowly and he now eats from my hand (: also this was suppose to be a joke more than anything because I just think it’s funny that my baby snake is so good with handling but he’s a big boy and still working on it! also I want to say that the red light was a plant light that was next to his enclosure, not for him. I did move it away though after getting feedback that it could be bad for his eyes!
haha yeah I figured it was a bit of a jokey video :') But then I was like oo wait, what if this person's gecko is a little skittish, as I know that can happen and sometimes people perceive that as their gecko not liking them :D I'm glad he's doing well and has a new setup. He looked nice and healthy in the video :D
Absolutely no one should get a chameleon without research. I heard somewhere that 20% of chameleons taken home from pet stores die within the first year just because they are SO so specialized in their care 😢
Yeah they're very sensitive creatures/not as hardy as leos. Sadly I sometimes think thats why leos are 'beginner reptiles' because they can tolerate a lot of improper care.

(I’ve posted this on other channels too) I was cleaning my room a couple days ago and checked on my leopard geckos water bowl. I filled her bowl with water and tapped the glass because she comes whenever I do that. Any who, I noticed she wasn’t coming to me. I thought okay maybe she’s asleep so I’ll come back later. I did this again an hour later, I tapped on the glass and still nothing. I lifted her hides a little bit and looked under her reptile mat and nothing. My heart dropped. I frantically looked around my dresser (where the tank is sitting on) because I thought she could have fallen and died because my dresser is pretty high up. But she wasn’t there either. I looked everywhere and nothing. Yesterday my neighbor gave me a humane mouse trap where they walk in and the door closes behind them. I was so excited. But today I looked and nothing. I put her water bowl in the trap and nothing. I’m hoping and praying my dogs didn’t get to her. I just need advice on what else I need to do. I miss my baby 🥺

When you find her, a word of advice: reptile mats are not a good substrate. They harbour bacteria, tend to get caught on their teeth and claws, and don’t offer any digging enrichment. Good options include zoo med’s reptisoil, a mix that’s 60% top/potting soil and 40% playsand (or a soil/sand/clay mix), Arcadia earth mix arid, or Terra Sahara from the bio dude.
i find it realy funny at night bc when my loe wants out she will un around and i put my hand in thee and she climbs up on it and when i put her on my bed she cudles up on he fav blancket and walks around and watches these vids with me
got a leo few weeks ago baby/juvy. have him come on command and hold him as much as i want. thanks for the vids some really helped me out. my first reptile and im old as dirt but hes still got his tail!
So cutting snake eggs is one thing which I fully support when done right. However, I do want to share my experience in concern to gecko eggs. I bred my male to two females this year and hatched 12 adorable healthy babies. However, in my first clutch after the first baby had hatched out of its egg the other egg still hadn't pipped, and for fear of the baby drowning in the egg I cut it (did not pull the baby out). Unfortunately, when the baby did hatch it still had not fully absorbed it's yolk sac. I tried this once more with my second clutch but got the same result. It appears that despite being laid at the same time and being incubated right next to each other, one baby just develops a bit faster. The rest of my eggs I let hatch by themselves with no problems. I know this channel does not focus on breeding but I wanted to share this information in case anyone finds it interesting or useful.
@@leopardgeckotalk Glad you found it educational! :) Both babies still ate and grew fine so I don't think any permanent harm came to them. It just wasn't the start to the world I was hoping for them.
GREAT video!!! I have been watching ur videos for about a year now, and now i have my own leopard gecko. His name is Raptor, i have made him a bioactive 40 gallon tank. Your videos inspired me to, get a gecko, build a big 40 gal bioactive tank, and I’ve even started my own channel! Thank you for inspiring me and making amazing videos to help people!!! ❤️
Hi, i have my leopard gecko on a substrate for leopard geckoes called Leo Life Mixed Desert Substate. Its a mixture of Naturally sourced soil and sand to make a sort of soft rocky substrate. The bag says it was developed for leopard geckoes however after watching 5 or 6 videos on substrate i’m not 100% sure if it’s the best thing to have him on. I have previously used reptile carpet but he seems more active and intrigued by his newly introduced substrate, however i’m not sure if it could be bad for his health? Do you have any thoughts? thank you:)
I have a question, ok so I have a leopard gecko female she’s an adult and she’s a tangerine color and I just got her like 3 and a half weeks ago and she’s been making good progress getting used to her environment the only thing is that I can’t quite get down is she likes to wait at the front of the tank and I open the doors and she climbs onto my hands and the tank is right next to my bed so I move her over there because I don’t want her falling and she seems to do fine then just starts running in my hands for like 3 seconds then stops but you can tell she’s kinda stressed and scared I think but idk what to do because she keeps wanting to come onto my hands and she does the same thing over and over again help? Thankyou
cutting snake eggs is OK for the most part, just cutting a tiny slit in the egg big enough for the baby to get out is good because it is possible for the baby to not be able to get out and it can die from drowning if unable to escape. though fully cutting the egg open and pulling the baby out should never be done (in MY opinion) baby snakes are naturally born with the instinct to be scared of predators and having their egg cut open when the baby isn't ready and just ripping them out of the egg is VERY stressful on them...
the egg cutting actually does help if you do it right, the best way i've seen is to wait 24 hours after the first hatchling emerges and then cut the rest, and only cut a slit. it helps snakes with underdeveloped egg teeth to hatch. pulling them out of cutting with scissors or things like that is bad though.
I feel that if u feel the need to cut snake eggs, fine. But leave them alone once there's a slit in the egg, don't tear them out of the shell as soon as they see light for the first time.
Dear Leopard Gecko, I really need some help. Recently, when I opened my crested geckos tank at night he went absolutely crazy. He went faster than I’ve ever seen him go and he zoomed out of his tank, ran across my room and super unfortunately lost his tail. I feel terrible that this happened. I totally blame this on myself for not holding him enough, socializing him, and making him comfortable around people. I looked up ways to help (adult) geckos become more comfortable around humans, and one suggestion was to try first holding them in their tanks. Tonight I tried this, and he ended up running off my arm, out of his tank, and even out of my room. (I did get him back) but This is making me scared that he could escape somewhere in my house, and I have been crying a lot about it. 😔 Your videos have always been so helpful, and I’m really really hoping you can offer some advice. Thank you so much in advance.
I have had a crested gecko for about 2 years now and mine doesn't want to be held often but he also doesnt run away. What I would do is instead of trying to pick him. Just trying to make the gecko associate you with good things. Feed him his favourite food. But do it by a distance first don't get your hands to close. With something like feeding tongs for example. Just so it can associate you and the door opening with good things. Also make sure to wash your hands before doing any thing with the gecko your hands might smell like something he/she is afraid of. I would say also just practice opening and closing the terrarium when he is not close to the door. I know my gecko used to get spooked by the sound it made when the doors opened. But now he got used to it. Last of all try to stay calm your self take it slow. And don't try to force your self to pick it up. Every gecko has its own personality so just sit and watch it for a bit maybe put up some music if you enjoy that and really get to learn how your gecko moves and what his/her behaviour is like. And make sure it has enough hiding and climbing space so it can feel safe in its terrarium. Just try to find out what is making him so scared and run away form his safe place. I hope this helps a bit. There is a bunch of others stuff you can try as well like making a certain sound when entering the room. And a difrent sound when opening the terrarium. So it knows that your there Sorry that this comment is getting a bit long
Hey there, so you may have just spooked him, it can easily happen. One time last summer, when it was really hot, I reached in to say hello to Lyra - as you know lyra is super tame - and she jumped from the back of her tank, out the front and onto the floor 😳 luckily she was absolute fine. But I must have caught her off guard. If you can, get someone to be in the room with you when you're handling your gecko, that way, if he does run off, someone can help you get him :)
hey my friend has recently got a leopard gecko and he’s been petting her and trying to feed her and she ate 5 mealworms but later she pooped and it’s kinda liquidy and im not sure if it’s diarrhea or not
The basking spot should be 92-95 during the day. Heat mats aren’t a good heat source. A halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer/dimming thermostat is the most natural and beneficial option, Arcadia’s deep heat projector is the second best option. They produce IRA and IRB like the sun, heat that penetrates deep into the skin tissue and heats them far more effectively than heat mats. Whereas heat mats only produce IRC, which only heats the surface of their skin.
Hey I would like to know what are the color genes that should not be propagated with each other (I'm talking about leopard geckos).🤠 Cause I dont find any information on internet lol
A third comment 🤣 cutting eggs can be done right. I know you might not like the reference but Briqn Barzyk does it the right way, he cuts them and LEAVES them there, not pulling them out like on that you just saw on tiktok. Pulling the baby snake is very stressfull for them. Cutting them is not really nessessary but is does help the possible weak ones to survive, if they are left in the egg that is. Never pull a baby snake out of the egg if you cut it.
I got my leopard geckos from brian and honestly i don't see why everyone fusses about him so much.. he has improved his care and the geckos i got arrived healthy and happy. i got three from him
@@jaynecrafter2684 true. He has made mistakes but so has everyone else. People ahould not be judged by their past but what they are doing now. He even announced couple days ago that he is going to minimize his rack using and get proper enclosures for animals like leopard geckos. He is actually a really nice dude if he did all for money it would shoe in something atleast 😅 all he wants to use the money is to animals. Whatever is the opinion on him he is truly passionate about reptiles and animals in general. He propably has bit of a reputation going on cuz he uses very annoying click baits it almost all his videos and has pretty bas titles like HUGE SNAKES AND ALLIGATORA ESCAPE and HUGE SBAKE BITE VERY DAMGEROUS and that is not very good for the hobbys image 🤭
I agree with the fact he didn't do things completely right and it could have been done differently but he has seemed to have a shift and has changed his ways.. i ordered three geckos at separate times and each one came healthy as can be with nice plump tails.. they also called us each time before one was shipped to ensure that someone will be home to sign and for the third gecko we had to go pick it up because it was over 80 and they do not ship to the house when its over 80 out. I will always recommend bhb reptiles to anyone looking to buy a leopard gecko i myself wasn't sure about buying from them at first because people painted the guy as if he was some monster or something but after reading great reviews from people who actually bought from him and didn't just join the hate train without having experience with him i decided to buy. and with each animal the same level of compassion and worry was used! they didn't even make the geckos seem like objects either which i thought is great! they treat them like they are living and rightfully so! As for the click bait titles i agree he shouldn't do them but that doesn't make him a horrible person almost everyone on youtube does some sorta clickbaity tilte or something like that and while its not right people can't just hate on him for that as alot of other reptile youtubers do it too
As I’ve said i have cresties, leopard, tokay, gargoyle, chahoua.... but my GOD I’d take an angry leachie over my angry tokay any day. Luckily my Groot is very tame. But he is still a teenager lol
Hello :D I got a leopard gecko baby yesterday, and my DHP only manages to get up to 90 degrees in the evening, do you have any tips on how to raise the tempature? Also thank you for helping me to prepare for a leo! Edit: My tank is pretty high, we added some tile to raise it in case that was the problem and added insulation. It still only gets to 90 however
Can u plz do another supplements video and when and how much to feed them because I am so confused. I would appreciate if you could do a video on it or a message
Dust with calcium every other feeding and multivitamins every three feedings. One supplement needs d3 unless you use UVB (which is highly beneficial). Or use Repashy Calcium Plus every feeding.
So people cut snake eggs open to help with survival rates, since it’s possible that some snakes won’t develop a proper egg tooth or develop one at all, breeders will cut them open. I will say, the way that Jay and his crew do it is very irresponsible and is done the way it is specifically for views, you know, the whole “shock” factor of them pulling them out of the egg right after they cut it open. People who do it a good way, for example, Snake Discovery, once they notice their eggs are hatching, they will wait a day or two to cut open the i hatched eggs a little bit, just enough so that they’re able to see inside and can lightly poke the snake to see if it’s responsive, after that, they put them back in the incubator and wait for them all to hatch out. You are 100% right about some people just doing it for views and a prime example of that are the videos Jay’s Prehistoric Reptiles makes, along with irresponsibly pulling the snake out of the egg right after cutting it open.
Two things One: does a deep heat projector act as light or will a need a light to Two: could I put a plant in a pot the put some eco earth over it for a non bioactive tank
Most breeders don't cut eggs till day 60 for royal(ball) pythons as that's how long they're supposed to incubate and most of the breeders I follow advise not to do it sooner then 60 days.
That lady cut them eggs open way to much they usually just put a little slit so they have a lower rate of drowning because some can’t cut it open on there own
What’s the hot spot temperature and how is it being measured (analog thermometer, digital, or temperature gun)? What’s the heat source? What feeders are you using?
Wait a minute 🤔 what chameleon species that was..... chameleons (atleast all species I have had) give live birth... was that a bearded anole after all? Also called a false chameleon...
I don't get the last girl. Like...asking the Leo why he doesn't like her as she's waving a predator in front of him. Gee I wonder what he's so upset about
I have two leos and one is new so hes still getting used to me but my girl apollo who ive had for about a year still runs away and she has so much stuff and a backround and everything i think she is just antisocial lol

Good options include zoo med’s reptisoil, a mix that’s 60% top/potting soil and 40% playsand (or a soil/sand/clay mix), Arcadia earth mix arid, or Terra Sahara from the bio dude.
i find it realy funny at night bc when my loe wants out she will un around and i put my hand in thee and she climbs up on it and when i put her on my bed she cudles up on he fav blancket and walks around and watches these vids with me
Nice lights!
My girlfriend and I just got our first leopard gecko!!!
I got a leopard gecko today after months of research she’s a blazing blizzard
got a leo few weeks ago baby/juvy. have him come on command and hold him as much as i want. thanks for the vids some really helped me out. my first reptile and im old as dirt but hes still got his tail!
Ah that's very interesting, thank you for sharing. Sorry to hear about the hatchling 🥺
@@leopardgeckotalk Glad you found it educational! :) Both babies still ate and grew fine so I don't think any permanent harm came to them. It just wasn't the start to the world I was hoping for them.
I'm always scared thjis type of videos, afraid you will find people hurting them etc, but this one was alright :) Diego is a sweetie.
I’m getting a leo soon! All i need right now is name ideas :’)
Same :')
Except I already have the leo-
@@willow_exe7387 I have some name ideas.
Duke, luke, Leo, , Leon, Eleanor, Mary, molly?
Tip: When I got mine I thought about names that fit their color (snowflake, sunny, ginger, midnight)
@@willow_exe7387 Ooo! I already have a bearded dragon, I made sure to put side covers and back covers, The cage is facing away from her
@@malin_lamb Thanks! ^^
@4:30 Does anyone know this gecko‘s morph? It’s gorgeous
3:31 im pretty sure its a leaf gecko
Do you have any thoughts? thank you:)
That substrate is good, just make sure your husbandry is good (hot spot of 92-95, overhead heating, etc.) and they’ll pass it no problem.
@@nightinggale6470 awesome, thank you very much :)
Gecko Loki!! 5:30
U should do more chahoua content, i see it doesnt get as many views but maybe it will in the future?
My leopard gecko hates being held lol
Yeah I thought that didn't look right 🥺
Gecko Loki 🥺🥺🥺
I feel that if u feel the need to cut snake eggs, fine. But leave them alone once there's a slit in the egg, don't tear them out of the shell as soon as they see light for the first time.
My leopard geckos named Loki after the mavel carecter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So it knows that your there
Sorry that this comment is getting a bit long
Hey there, so you may have just spooked him, it can easily happen.
@@Morrigun-2001 thank you so much!! Your advice is super helpful!
hey my friend has recently got a leopard gecko and he’s been petting her and trying to feed her and she ate 5 mealworms but later she pooped and it’s kinda liquidy and im not sure if it’s diarrhea or not
Diego looks comfy
I am going to be buying a leopard gecko, what should set the thermostat for the heating pad to?
The basking spot should be 92-95 during the day. Heat mats aren’t a good heat source. A halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer/dimming thermostat is the most natural and beneficial option, Arcadia’s deep heat projector is the second best option. They produce IRA and IRB like the sun, heat that penetrates deep into the skin tissue and heats them far more effectively than heat mats. Whereas heat mats only produce IRC, which only heats the surface of their skin.
@@nightinggale6470 Thank you so much!
Ok I might put a snake in an outfit for a few for cute pics. Ngl.
Hey I would like to know what are the color genes that should not be propagated with each other (I'm talking about leopard geckos).🤠 Cause I dont find any information on internet lol
Eee so exited
GECKO LOKIIIIII
Hello :D
I got a leopard gecko baby yesterday, and my DHP only manages to get up to 90 degrees in the evening, do you have any tips on how to raise the tempature?
Also thank you for helping me to prepare for a leo!
Edit:
My tank is pretty high, we added some tile to raise it in case that was the problem and added insulation. It still only gets to 90 however
90° should be comfortable for them i dont think you need higher temps
@@Lpsolarnote Ok thank you
absolutely horrid seeing her rip out that new born snake
I saw a video where a girl brought her gecko to SCHOOL and the tail of the gecko was so thin it was so sad
Can u plz do another supplements video and when and how much to feed them because I am so confused. I would appreciate if you could do a video on it or a message
Dust with calcium every other feeding and multivitamins every three feedings. One supplement needs d3 unless you use UVB (which is highly beneficial). Or use Repashy Calcium Plus every feeding.
the gecko at 8:18 looks just like my leo. Anybody know the morph??
You are 100% right about some people just doing it for views and a prime example of that are the videos Jay’s Prehistoric Reptiles makes, along with irresponsibly pulling the snake out of the egg right after cutting it open.
lepord gecko idk if you read coments but im geting a bearded dragon soon do they shed?
Yes.
At what age did Diego get to that size? I have a male leo who is a year and half and he isn't that long.
Wait, was that a snake in a trash bag? 3:34
Me leopard geckos name is actually Loki, and I want to get one of those hats 😂
You should only cut an egg when the snake takes a while to hatch and even then you should only cut it a little bit and let the snake get out by itself
Two things
One: does a deep heat projector act as light or will a need a light to
Two: could I put a plant in a pot the put some eco earth over it for a non bioactive tank
Also would you recommend spaghnum moss for moist hides
I luv snakes
Most breeders don't cut eggs till day 60 for royal(ball) pythons as that's how long they're supposed to incubate and most of the breeders I follow advise not to do it sooner then 60 days.
That lady cut them eggs open way to much they usually just put a little slit so they have a lower rate of drowning because some can’t cut it open on there own
Me baby leopard gecko, named Gyzer, has undigested insects in its faeces. Should I be concerned?
What’s the hot spot temperature and how is it being measured (analog thermometer, digital, or temperature gun)? What’s the heat source? What feeders are you using?
Diego is my favorite(sorry gizmo)
