Fantastic job The Innocence Network does. They only take a look at your case and fight for your freedom if they believe there is undisputed evidence of your innocence. I can only imagine what these people must feel inside when they walk out those cold metal gates that held them for so long.
The Innocence Network's staff is truly a blessing. I thank you for fighting for the people locked up for crimes they did not commit. It's a shame that it takes so much to have the judges look at the cases again when the proof is there of innocence.
Making him accept blame for a crime he didn't commit is an injustice on so many levels. Basically, the State is saying it's more important for them to save face than to admit their mistake and go catch the real killer. Erik's poor family will never have justice if nobody is looking for the person who killed him. Also: it takes a special kind of evil to sit by and allow someone else to go to prison for a crime you committed. Blows my mind.
I 100% , TOTALLY AGREE. IT SAVED THE STATE MILLIONS, THAT'S WHAT IT REALLY WAS ABOUT, BECAUSE THEY KNEW HE WAS INNOCENT & IF THEY'D LET HIM WALK OUT OF COURT THAT DAY THEY'D BE PAYING HIM FOR THE 30 YRS THEY STOLE FROM HIM. THAT'S THE ONLY WAY AROUND IT IS TO USE BLACKMAIL. IT'S A VERY SAD STATE OF AFFARS WHEN IT'S 2023 & NOT 1963!
So why if he still didn't do it. That is awful. And I know your friend is watching you from heaven. bless your heart.🙏 and the government that's making him lie so your conscience feels better .karma. 😢sending prayers. 🙏👐
What's sad is he wasn't actually exonerated like this video implied. He had to say he was guilty to get out. He was never given a chance to prove his innocence to the court of law... he will always have that guilty tag on his name.. at least those around him know he is innocent...
A spiritual person can see that George had a bright star and would of done well had he not been imprisoned, the police officers stole his star , I hope he can still have a fairly good life
GEORGE, I HOPE SOMEDAY SOON THAT SPECIAL LADY WILL COME ABOUND THAT CORNER & SHE'LL L♡VE YOU IN THE WAY YOU DESERVE TO BE L♡VED, WHOLEHEARTEDLY. I KNOW THAT EVERY DAY WILL CONTINUE TO BE A BLESSED DAY BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT YOU DESERVE. I WISH I LIVED IN THE STATES I'D BE THERE FOR YOU, YR A GOOD HEARTED MAN & PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE HARD TO COME BY. I WISH YOU ONLY THE BEST, SO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF & KEEP SMILING. L♡VE & RESPECT X 🙏🏻 X ✌🏼😊 🇬🇧
I was unjustly convicted, and sentenced to ten years in prison. I wrote to the Innocence Project. On three different occasions. Despite a Letter of Recantation, Medical Report, Constitutional Violations, Prosecutorial Misconduct, and Ineffective Assistance of Counsel. I wrote to the Innocent Project in New York, and Pennsylvania, they would not help me. So much for justice.
The problem is that we do not learn from these mistakes with false confessions, failure to investigate/vet alibi's, and frankly take a look at the history of prosecutors/police having favorite snitches/etc.
04:00 - "Would you be able to survive that existence ???" That's a good question. I wonder how many wrongfully convicted people committed suicide in prison rather than to face more hopeless years behind bars ??? 😮😮😮
I get why he would do what he's done by signing for his release but it just shows that the state actually is pretty much saying yer we got it wrong but yall not gonna sting our pockets and make us look bad so sign this n bye bye its so wrong x
BUT, HE DIDN'T. JUSTICE WOULD'VE BEEN HIS CASE BEING THROWN OUT & ALL CHARGES DROPPED & ABLE TO WALK OUT OF COURT WITH COMPENSATION FOR THE YEARS THEY STOLE FROM HIM. NOW THERE'S THE JUSTICE, WITH A SIDE ORDER OF THE GUILTY ONE BEING IN HIS PLACE.
Some police officers find it too much work to take their time and solve a case so therefore what they do is hurry down the case resulting in the wrong person being convicted, They joined the force for the salary , the pension and to hold a badge, wear a uniform that makes them feel super powerfull.

What a great support system he has. You are such a strong man. I’m so sorry this happened to you.
It's disgraceful when they can prove someone's guilt or innocents through a simple DNA test, and it takes 5,10,15 years😢
Try 30 years!

When and what will it take to prosecute the people who are part of this injustice?
I keep thinking how many innocent people are in prison that never get out.
And the government does not care. If they truly knew that person was innocent they shouldn't never lock them up now. Time for karma. 🙏
This was Blackmail plain as day 😢 30 years and a guilty plea for something your not guilty of because of sloppy police workl.
It’s just so wrong on so many levels 😮and so sad!😢

How on earth did George carry on living knowing he hadn’t killed his best friend but nobody believed him. Bless him for keeping going ❤

100% not fair he had to admit to something he never done. Cop out , discussing!!!

Vacate a conviction takes forever it shouldn't

I really would like to hear your story

The Justice system has to be based on common sense. Then only it will function fairly.

Thank GOD this man finally got the Justice he deserved !

Bitter sweet for sure. I just hope he finds the woman to start his family. 😁
