    A most incredible 3 parter. The story is so well told and the sky and background in the frame was a nice touch. The stench of sin around me great and I wonder is it me?

    Be like Don Bosco: attend the Latin Mass.

    • @vivacristorey4363
      @vivacristorey4363 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Be like St John Bosco by attending any form of the Mass currently approved by Rome. Since the Novus Ordo did not exist at the time that St John Bosco walked the earth he would not have been able to attend. But we know based on his principles that he would have remained a loyal son of the Church and would not have advised those entrusted to him to avoid the mainstream form of the Mass.

      @@vivacristorey4363 Most Canonized Saints were formed with the traditional Latin Mass. This includes JP2 and Benedict. The Novus Ordo is a pale reflection of the ancient Liturgy. It tosses in the garbage music beginning with Gregorian Chant and later classical Masses by renowned composers. The Prayers at the Foot of the Altar are gone, the penitential rite reduced, the offertory gutted, the consecration and distribution of the Sacred Species seriously compromised, the Last Gospel and prayers after Low Mass eliminated. I could go on. Many folks including you consider attending this train wreck as an act of fidelity to the Church. I do not. Attend the Latin Mass.

      @@marccrotty8447 There is a lot to cover here that you brought up. The Novus Ordo, and any other approved liturgy cannot be what you call a "train wreck" as the Church is incapable of approving something that is harmful to faith and morals. So, I will attend any Mass that the Church tells me that I can attend since you do not know better than the magisterium.
      As for your issues with the changes made, it is up to the hierarchy to make decisions on what is done during the liturgy. There are times in history when reduction is good, and they have decided that this is one of those times. People need to prepare properly before Mass and make a good thanksgiving. People tend to blame others for their own lack of improvement.
      Some of the changes you mentioned have nothing to do with the liturgy - meaning that those changes are a separate matter from the liturgy - such as music. There are places where the Novus Ordo has beautiful music with it. And when the TLM was mainstream, it was common for it to be done poorly - such as rushing through it and such.
      You claim that "most canonized saints" were formed by the TLM. This is false on multiple fronts. First off, it is a misunderstanding of what forms a saint. The Holy Ghost forms saints in all sorts of circumstances - including using different approved liturgies or even a lack of them when isolated. Second, there are many many saints who were "formed" by attending the Novus Ordo; and, if it were true that there is slightly less, it would only be because the TLM had a longer time period to make saints. Some of my favourite saints were formed with the Novus Ordo.
      The Holy Ghost works through every liturgy approved by the Church. By attacking that, you risk sinning against the Holy Ghost.

      @@paxChristi123I'm not sure what you mean by restoring the old form of the mass fully. It still exists. If you mean that it will replace the Novus Ordo, I highly doubt that and have no reason to believe it is the case. Perhaps you mean that all restrictions will be removed. I doubt that will happen either. The Old Form communities tend to give public support to platforms that promote schismatic groups, such as the SSPX, as well as accusing Rome of error in magisterial documents. They cry victim in one breath and then accuse the pope of being a heretic in the next. I'm generalizing. But the point is that until the Old Form Mass communities do better at regulating who they promote as spokespersons the restrictions will stay. But the Old Form will likely always be available.

    Question - is there any account of how many were on the first two lists? or approximately how those two lists compared to the third list?

    • @vivacristorey4363
      @vivacristorey4363 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      There is no number given for the first two lists. This is because these two lists contained names of people of the future as well as the present - so if St John Bosco did know the number, he saw it as prudent to omit it from his audience. The number of the third list was only of present students and was specifically for the saint to help them. The reason also that this list did not include future students was because those on the third list would still have been capable of switching to the second list. God did not give him a list of damned souls, but rather those were at risk of damnation due to sin. Let us hope and pray that all sinners, especially students of the Salesians, turn to Christ in repentance and obtain a good death.
